Really like these cars and very tempted to have one as project - enjoying the videos as real world as my skill level not that high but you clearly enjoy maintaining such a nice car 👍
Thank you for your video, I have since maybe a 380 sl 1985 it is beautiful but I have a lot of small thing to do on and your tutorial makes me great, bravo and thank you Mady from France
I've attempted to remove my steering wheel, but the Allen bolt is completely stripped/rounded out. The previous owner clearly couldn't remove it. So now I'll have to figure out a different way. And yet -- yours came right out! I'm so jealous. Much like I was jealous that your fuel tank screen came out when you removed the fuel line. It took me days to get mine removed.
Did your 380sl come with a knee bolster panel? Mine has it and it looks very ugly and bulky. I want to get rid of it but not sure what part I need to cover up the space after i remove it
I wanted to understand how the center rubber came out, but you just blew by that. Also you didn't show you putting it back in. Can you tell us the method for this?
@@sophiathe380sl I found that you don't actually have to remove the entire rubber piece. You can use a small straight edge screwdriver to pry out the center Mercedes emblem instead. But you're right, the rubber was incredibly easy to pull off. Even easier than removing the center Mercedes emblem.
Yeah I just bought a 1985 and sadly the temp and fuel lights are burnt out as the speedometer and RPM have light, so I know it's not the fuse. Also the clock doesn't work/keep time wasn't sure if there was hidden screws or just friction keeping the instruments and trim in at least this answered my question as the last thing anyone should do is not make any unnecessary damage or replacements damage by just blindly poking and prying.
Hello, I do not have the meter lighting or headlights I changed the fuses it was a bit of anything I hope it’s just the bulbs! otherwise what? thank you for your opinions, good weekend to all...
nice quality video, i started my own mercedes build have watched a lot of your videos. Hope to cruise around sometime in the future
Thanks man. I appreciate you watching.

Thanks for watching. My mechanic skills are also not very high but I enjoy trying. So far, so good.

That’s great! I’m glad they help. Good luck with your projects. If you have any good repair ideas, let me know.

Well, my luck just ended. I stripped a bolt on the engine head of Doris. It’s at the worst possible place.
@@sophiathe380sl sorry to hear that. I didn't mean to jinx it!

@@ianestrada8215 I thought the knee bolster was only on the 560s. Maybe someone added it to your car
Hi. How do you remove the ambient temp gauge that is between the 2 vents? Thx.
Hey. Sorry, don’t know. I’ve never removed it.
I wanted to understand how the center rubber came out, but you just blew by that. Also you didn't show you putting it back in. Can you tell us the method for this?
It’s super easy that’s why I didn’t show it. The middle of the rubber wheel goes inside the metal circle of the steering wheel.

Good luck. I think there are places where you can mail in a cluster for repair. You can also try to find one at a junk yard.
Thanks always helpful

Yea, check the fuses and bulbs. Other than that, it’s more electrics to look through. Thank you. Have a nice weekend
