- Daniel is a videographer, TH-camr, husband and dad… and he was also born with one arm. Having a visible physical difference meant that when growing up, he often felt different from others - and when he was at school, just wanted to be the same as everyone else.

Now, Daniel is comfortable and confident with who he is, and explains why he isn't "disabled but differently-abled".

Having been born with one arm has miraculously made you an incredibly awesome human being. Congratulations for turning a lemon to lemonade! You are an inspiration, Daniel.
Hi Daniel,
I am also someone with just one arm. I was born with two but my left arm was rendered useless by polio when I was 11 months old. It remains more or less useless- just a hook to hang things on. Like you, the left side of my body is much weakened by the disease and now that I'm getting older, that's not so much fun.
I was struck by what you said about the bullying comments you had to endure as a child and my heart goes out to you. Because I look more or less normal most people didn't notice or bother to think about just how disabled I was. I wasn't verbally abused like you; people just thought I was inadequate... useless... stupid. I was passed over constantly and my self-confidence suffered accordingly. And that leads me to tell you the important truth that I have learned from my disability- The emotional damage done to us by our disabilities is far greater than the physical realities that we have to live with. Overcome those and we'll be fine, whatever.
Thank you for sharing and I hope you go on being such a positive example to others.
Dude you wrote an entire story
dude yeah that would suck to lose an arm because your having to re learn how to go day to day

@@benreynolds8457honestly i just wish peoples hands would just regenerate. Like how peoples teeth regenerates once.

I'm loving with one arm since 2014 it's been hard spending most my life with 2 arms but I have become so confident in myself I no longer remember what it's like having two arms, we arent disabled just differently abled
I’ve had one arm sine 2018 and i still cant get over or used to one arm still. I hate my life, i always wanted to be a snooker player but I can’t

Hats off to you! Stay well.
awesome, I have Right-hemispheres and mild cerebral palsy. I have both my arms, but only have the use of my left.My fears are jobs for people who can only use one arm, I was bullied only at a very young age for being different, but once I got to High School I stood up for myself and it just stopped.

Hi I lost my arm at 48 in a bike accident. 2 and a half years ago. I still have no chronic pain and will to do anything except for my kids. Can u help in any way. I don’t bring in any money and this is now a serious problem🥹 How did you start being an influencer?
Be grateful the depression has subsided! (2 and a half years of feeling sad is no joke).
You did the first step, you put yourself in class (I mean you started researching and educating yourself), which is any first step.
Tips from the video: especially the technical stuff, a mouse with custom features is mentioned. Others things you would want to think of is speech activated writing/typing, if that doesn't work a custom keyboard, if that doesn't work something else... Because someone on this thread said "there are many people with one arm".
Which also means there are many products that are designed to facilitate a life with one arm.
Last thing be grateful, you have a sound mind, you have beautiful healthy children, you have function still of your eyes, your ears, your legs, still have an amazing body!
Search videos, research, for smarter ways to get things done. (your different ability is gonna force your mind to think differently!)
But grow, don't be afraid of it, life is not untenable, it can't resist change, so allow the process to begin and be open to learning.
If you are more of an influencer, the best way to start is social media. Post about your journey, your frustrations, your problems, all the negativity from the past 2 and a half years.
Your community will build from people who felt the same.
Also from problems solutions are born, a lot of people might share their "pet peeves" and answers along the way...
I hope this helped! Please don't give up - the world doesn't need another person unhappy
