I just realized that with the over-the-top action, the volcano exploding resulting in Isla Nublar's destruction, and the giant bugs, this is literally a condensed retelling of the Jurassic World trilogy.
In all honesty the game is better, because the bugs are not plot relevant unlike dominion. + Rexy gets justice by chucking the spino off the water fall And spino actually gets to be relevant and cool threat
Watching this whole thing was infinitely more worth it to see that ridiculously expensive ending sequence finish off with "you saved the Dinosaurs" gold.
There's concept art that indicates that Amargasaurus, Ankylosaurus, and a full-sized giant spider were all planned for this game, but were cut for whatever reason. There's also an interview Jurassic Outpost did with one of the programmers for this game, John Scott, that indicates that an unknown aquatic creature was considered for the game, but that was similarly cut from the game. I also believe they're using the JP branding due to this game being worked on before Jurassic World had even been announced, let alone released, and that they're counting the base gun as one of the "five weapons," but I'm not exactly certain. Moreover, I wouldn't put the Spinosaurus looking extremely similar to the Primal Carnage version past this game when the T. rex literally uses the Dino Crisis T. rex roar instead of the JP one for some reason.
Now that's the game we haven't heard a long time. What's interestingly is that this came out soon after the release of the Jurassic World film and shortly after the discovery of the Dakotaraptor.
I remember playing this arcade with a random stranger like years ago who also loves Jurassic Park as the person was having difficulty doing the single mode and was constantly stuck with the final level involving the Triceratops. Decided to help the person out through the whole game and it sure was hella fun and we even got some boba afterwards once we finished the Spinosaurus level just to talk about random Jurassic stuff. Quite the memorable experience lol
I will say that the novels had muldoon blowing raptors up with a rocket launcher, so it isn't exactly entirely out of the franchises history to go ballistic against dinosaurs.
‘Blasting my guys in the face, and not in a fun way!’ 😂 This game has had my fair share of money over the years, I’m happy they’re still around everywhere.
I remember playing this game every single time I went to an arcade. That spinosaurus vs T-Rex rematch will always be extremely funny to me. I also distinctly remember me and my cousin getting frustrated as hell on the final Rex level with the doors.
Ahh yes that level can be tricky, I remember going out of town and finding this arcade game, and so frustrated at the spino in that final chomp because the sensitivity or something was off.. anyway eventually beat them and was so thankful that the version that I'd regularly play wasn't as rigged
There were arcade games for each of the original three Jurassic Park films. The JP3 one was pretty rare, though. I've seen the JP and TLW ones several different places, but I think I've only ever come across one JP3 arcade cabinet.
I always enjoy playing this game at the arcade, but it never fails to make me laugh when the raptors shatter into pieces when shooting them with the "non-lethal" frostbite cannon
I loved this game when I was younger and used to play it at Chuck E Cheese! I never beat a level, and it was so expensive. It was the only JP game I could play other than the mobile ones until JWE2 when I got a PC.
3:41 It's not even close to being canon, but if you ever watch the whole short video that plays before someone starts a new game you'll notice it predicted a main plot point of Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom (having to rescue dinosaurs from an active volcano)
34:58 SpongeBob: "We did it, Patrick! We saved the dinos! Just think what might have happened if we didn't go in all guns blazing!" Isla Nublar: *is littered with thousands of dead dinosaurs* Patrick: "In all guns what?"
To be fair, in the novel, we did get to see Muldoon and Genaro kick ass fighting raptors with rocket launchers and guns and whatnot so the absurd violence in most JP games is kinda fitting.
I love the spiders in this so much. No animations when they chase you, they just wiggle at you menacingly. And the spinosaurus slam-dunking the helicopter at the end. Beautiful.
We got this one at Pizza Ranch and the Lost World one at an old arcade. I used to watch the opening of the Lost World arcade every time I passed by to see different scenes as a kid. Still love it, and I think the Lost World one is still the best, but this is a good second place. I need to play through this one with my nephews sometime. They would love it.
I had no idea what to expect, and I was not prepared! This must have been SO FUN to play in arcades! This game is wild - other than the spiders, I love it, this was such an entertaining experience.
Believe it or not, I played this game *last year* at the Hollywood Bowl, on the Glasgow Quay next to the Odeon. It had a ton of arcade games beside the restaurant, but this was obviously the one I had most interest in. Had no idea it was as recent as 2015, it felt like an early 2000s shooter playing it. In fairness, the majority of film-to-arcade adaptations were shooters of some sort, simply because it's one of the default game genres, & so very difficult to mess up. Sometimes it made sense (Terminator, Aliens, Star Wars, etc), others it felt like a weird alternate universe.
19:35 Yep. Played it on the PS2 and it's a bit of an FPS too! This brings a flood of nostalgia playing that first arcade game with the moving seat. Then JP Lost World didn't have it but still very much intense on-rail-shooter. *One thing I want to say though... It's sad that this game's Rexy didn't have the famous roar.
I LOVED this game when I went to the Arcade around where I live (was a huge place, had a buffet and everything, the Jurassic Park game itself was in its own little machine you would sit in and have the shooter guns) I would get my parents or aunts and uncles to play with me. It took a while for me to be able to do Trike with another player and then I started managing to get through it solo, eventually I managed to get through all of them but it was a ton of fun for kid me, I plan to go back there at some point and hope they still have it. The bugs are much more terrifying when your sitting in a machine with a giant screen infront of you and they land on it. Always hated the bugs
Wow, that was.....an experience. Absolutely insane. It is funny how much shooting is involved in Jurassic Park games.... when there really isn't much shooting at all in the films. Like, it's kind of a big deal when Muldoon gets his gun out. The most shooting is probably when they're chasing the Indominous rex around...... The designs are so vibrant and colorful and intense.... Though honestly I'm surprised they included a feathered dinosaur, whatever the heck it was meant to be. That's more feathers than most of the JP and JW franchise. And there are just so many pteranodons and raptors... So many. Gotta say, I was pleasantly surprised with the number of little nods and references to the films, even though this game is utterly insane. And I am very curious about who's funding this mission. And why. What exactly is the objective here? The goal is to "rescue" dinosaurs? But also to kill a bunch of dinosaurs. Clearly there's some decent funding, given the number of people and vehicles and such. So.... who decided all this was a good idea? I wonder.
I remember when this came out, it didn't get that much attention. You know what the colors of the dinosaurs remind me about? The Hasbro toys and the dinos in Jurassic World The Game at max level. It feels to me like they were trying to push a Chaos Effect kind of vibe with JW's merchandise, with the flashy colors and wacky mutations.
Seeing the Brachiosaurus attacking people always bugged me as a kid lol. They were my favorites and seeing them with both uglier faces and a meaner temperament bothered me. But besides my childhood criticisms, I love this game and have a ton of nostalgia for it.
This game has been at an arcade near my local cinema ever since it released, always try to play it whenever i go see a film. Awesome you're checking it out, Bis!
I rememebred when i played this at this arcade that had mini golf and laser tag. Though I wasn't really good at it and lasted about two minutes still was fun tho XD
I freaking love arcade hunting games (for no explainable reason) and I never thought about an arcade emulator. Well guess who's going hunting (but more dino hunting games would be nice. something with depth)
Technically in the Jurassic Park games like the ones for the Nintendo and Sega Genesis had you firing tranquilizers so you weren't killing dinosaurs, plus gas and flash grenades. Except for the rocket launcher but according to Batman those don't kill things.
Wow I remember playing it at a bowling alley when I was a kid, I loved this arcade and now seeing it again it brought me back good memories, thank you for playing it, now I’m planning on buying the actual arcade hahaha
eh, back to playing EVERY JP game! A classic. And yeah I remember being crap at this with my sister when were younger lol There was also feathered dinos in the comics and other JP games loooong before the movies.
that was awesome, you literally kicked dinosaur butt and it was really fun watching you commentate while playing all the levels however will say sucks how the Jurassic Park arcade game wasn't in any terms of accuracy to the films, I've played this game at the arcade and it's really fun so watching this was giving me nostalgia
By the way, so sorry I had to cancel my membership, I only cancelled it as my Gmail account wasn't working for a long time and then I thought I was hacked in my bank app but turns out not, I am hoping to rejoin patreon soon as getting everything sorted out with my bank
This game looks delightfully shlocky. Kinda reminds me of playing Reading & Spelling: Planet Dinosaur when I was younger. Also the free browser game Dino Strike, with the general rampant violence and saturday morning cartoon vibes. Would be cool to see you play those someday if you're ever desperate for new dino games to riff on
They really need to put all the JP arcade games in a package along with some light guns on console or pc I’d be willing to pay whatever the price would be lol
You're thinking of House of the Dead. Man I miss playing the arcade. A pizza restaurant near me used to have a few arcade machines. Sadly they closed years ago, and the new owners didn't keep the arcade games 😭.
I actually have played this game, at an arcade in my city! It's corny and dumb, but it's good fun, and I have a fair few fond memories of spending WAY too many arcade tokens on it with my brother. It's so cool to get to see it again!
i used to pay money to sit in a booth with curtains in our city arcade in germany and play this to no end, thanks for the trip down memory lane.edit: no it was a prior version, but same gameplay.
I play this basically every year. I’ve played it so many times I easily top the leaderboard every time. Most places I visit end up resetting the high scores, probably because no one can beat the records I put there
I just realized that with the over-the-top action, the volcano exploding resulting in Isla Nublar's destruction, and the giant bugs, this is literally a condensed retelling of the Jurassic World trilogy.
It’s more of the opposite
In all honesty the game is better, because the bugs are not plot relevant unlike dominion.
+ Rexy gets justice by chucking the spino off the water fall
And spino actually gets to be relevant and cool threat
Watching this whole thing was infinitely more worth it to see that ridiculously expensive ending sequence finish off with "you saved the Dinosaurs" gold.
It's so funny how every arcade-style Jurassic Park game just involves you "rescuing" the dinosaurs by shooting the hell out of them.
Ah yes let me rescue this comsognathus by using my sawed-off shotgun
Not all of them, there was one that I played with my brother where Grant sends you to search for survivers on Site B
"I'm saving you stop resisting"
*throws gernades*
Why not nuke them?
“Non-lethal”
*shatters dinosaurs to bits*
I remember going to the local arcade for hours just to play this and remembered how awesome it was to complete it
There's concept art that indicates that Amargasaurus, Ankylosaurus, and a full-sized giant spider were all planned for this game, but were cut for whatever reason. Yeah apparently there's a ton of cut content and this thing took 4 years and millions of pounds to develop. Wild.
I love this game. I’ve played it so many times. It’s absolutely awesome and I’m glad you are playing it.
Same I’ll always play it when available

There are (so far) 4 Jurassic Park arcade games:
1. Jurassic Park (1994)
2. The Lost World (1997)
3. Jurassic Park III (2001)
4. Jurassic Park (2015)
Need to play all of them on emulator
last time i checked the Jurassic park 3 one doesn't have a working emulator so good luck@@GammaProtogolin
I will say that the novels had muldoon blowing raptors up with a rocket launcher, so it isn't exactly entirely out of the franchises history to go ballistic against dinosaurs.
Never seen or heard about this one! The pteranodons and raptors especially make me think of the chaos theory toy line with those wild colours
Thanks for letting us see the cut scenes for when things go wrong!
So welcome. So very on purpose
yep so very on purpose@@BestInSlotGamingvery

This game is wild - other than the spiders, I love it, this was such an entertaining experience.
I just remembered that my boyfriend and I held the record for this game in our local arcade room for like two years. Good times.
Also, BestInSlot, I don't know if you noticed, but this game gives the T-Rex its roars from the Dino Crisis franchise!
Believe it or not, I played this game *last year* at the Hollywood Bowl, on the Glasgow Quay next to the Odeon. I’ve spent an obscene amount of money playing this at the arcade.
Hey DangerVille!
I love how in this game you're killing hundreds of dinosaurs... in order to save three individual dinos.
Dude i remember playing this in the arcade! Always played it first.
I LOVED this game when I went to the Arcade around where I live (was a huge place, had a buffet and everything, the Jurassic Park game itself was in its own little machine you would sit in and have the shooter guns) I would get my parents or aunts and uncles to play with me. This one was so much easier than the old Jpark arcade game. I missed that old one at my local movie theater after they replaced it with this one.
I find it funny that the t-rex are making the same roars as the ones in Dino Crisis, it's come full circle!

Jurassic Park and Kong should do a crossover. Imagine Skull Island being converted into a theme park attraction.
Honestly a dream crossover for me
I'm glad you finally covered King Kong 05's rail shooter adaptation here today!
This is my source of nostalgia, same with the pixel Jurassic park arcade.

God the “Amber Bonus” was a great memory with me and my sister playing this in the arcade, we always mock the guys voice with so much nerd into it.
Am I the only one who hears a distinct loon call at 13:54? Also this game is probably my favorite arcade shooter, great video.
“I am edging the triceratops”
This makes me want to rewatch your old “Jurassic: the hunted” and “Dino Crisis” again 🎉
I remember playing this on my nearest arcade in my town
It'd be cool to rip the models and props from this game and mod them into JWE2
I recently played it in an arcade it’s quite goofy but I’ve never one sadly :(
