What a beautiful spot Mark. I'm envious sitting up here in Oregon in the cold. You pick out the best spots and I know you love the privacy and quiet where possible. Carry on, Air Force ! Kenny C Oregon NICELY FILMED MARK !!
Thanks Kenny! Oregon is beautiful too, but it’s cold this time of year! I'll stick to Arizona for now. LOL Hopefully make it to Oregon sometime in the future!
That's a beautiful view💚 sure wish we had those temps in Arkansas right now. I remember you talking about the Creosote before. I love fragrant plants. Maybe I'll see one someday Thanks for sharing!
The southwest is beautiful, and these temps are always nice. 😉After a rain, the creosote bushes really come out fragrant. Hard to explain the smell, minty/citrus fresh smell.
Loved that area! I camped about 6 miles aways from there on Pump Station road BLM camping area but Ironwood is def on my list! Dont know where you are now but there is a meetup at Ironwood Feb 7-11, a few TH-camrs & others
I rode over to pump station road and checked it out while there. Lots of rv'ers there, but still some room to park. I would have loved the meet up, but I have a truck camper rally in Quartzsite around those dates. Maybe next time.
Wow. Perfect spot to get away. In March we're headed to the Grand Canyon then into Utah to make a loop thru the state. I'm sure we'll check out some of your spots....Happy Trails🐕
We live in Tucson, and Ironwood is our favorite winter spot! I gotta get back out there and make a new memory, though. Last time we went camping off Silverbell Road, a van lifer crashed our site. Awkward.
@@melissacarson9047 Nope! It's public land, so it belongs to them as much as it does to us. We just tried to be friendly and sus them out to make sure they weren't serial killers or something. Then we packed up in the morning and left. We should have gone further back on the trails where the vans can't go. Lesson learned. 😆
That trail will take you to the top of Ragged Top. A little bit of route finding required and technically I believe it's closed from Jan 1 to Apr 30th due to the Bighorn sheep lambing. I've got a cool shot of the Milky Way over Ragged Top.
Heck, if I thought you'd still be there this weekend, I'd run down to meet you. Still haven't gotten down to the Dragoons or Chiricahuas since you were there. Thanks again!
Not there anymore. I rarely post my location for security reasons. You should definitely make it down to the Dragoons, I was planning on stopping there again, but the cold front came through I bypassed it for warmer weather here in Arizona. LOL Maybe next time.
you find some great spots and I appreciate you sharing the coordinates. I want to try a lot of these. do you worry about being in the middle of nowhere alone?
I love finding them. Great spots to camp out and explore the area. I do not worry about camping in the middle of nowhere. If I ever got worried, I would just pack up and leave. I've camped Ironwood Forest before, about 3 years ago. Love the area.
I gotta say Mark, you are pretty deft at finding cool camping spots. I finally have my flat tow setup completed, and we are heading back home to deal with a blown engine. Best wishes for you to have some great times this season.
I've been there a couple of times over the years. Nice area but also, according to a local, the dumping ground for the Tucson ganga ... you can imagine what they dump there. I never had any issues while there.
Awesome Mark !! Do you follow Sterling Noren from Motorcycle Travel Channel? He does the BDR and Touratech promo's, he is a pro. He is in Bisbee, just S of you, it is a neat little spot to enjoy. There is dispersed camping around there also. He just posted a route this week that he rode along the border on a GS 1250, thru organ pipe etc. It was cool!! Have fun! How long you gone for this time?
I do not following Noren, sounds interesting though. I've dispersed camped at Bisbee off of N Juniper Flats Road way up high, had a good view of the sprawling city of Bisbee. Loved it there. Even did a tour of the old mine there. I have a fishing trip scheduled mid March I'm going on back in Arkansas. Then after I'll be heading into Northern New Mexico making my way north. Hopefully it will not be to cold that time of year. LOL
Thanks for another good video, Mark. I rode right past that crested Saguaaro and didn't notice it, so I'll have to go see it on my next visit. GAIA GPS did show that trail up to the Ragged Top-Wolcott Peak saddle. I found a route from the saddle to the top of Ragged Top, but there were some sketchy spots. You've shared a lot of cool spots with me, so heres one for you: There's a hillside of thousands of cool bubbely quartz rocks at 32.49019, -111.44366. Check it out on your next visit.
The crested Saguaro pretty neat to see. It's the only one I've ever seen. Onx shows the trail but no name. Have to just call it Ragged Top trail. LOL The coordinates you gave shows it on Arizona State Trust Land. I'll have to get an online state permit to check that spot out. Thanks for sharing and safe travels!
I do. I have it cracked with solar lights on top of the engine, and solar lights under the block of my engine. So far, so good. I also have a camera underneath my truck that'll notify me of movement. I hope I never get my wires chewed. LOL
@@DispersedCamperMan Hi there. Sounds like you've got it covered. Keep up the great content. I'm headng down the Dragoons next month. Looking forward to it.

It's to deter rodents from nesting in the engine block and chewing on wires. I have a LED light rope in there also and under the engine. So far so good.
Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed your video. Sound could be a little louder perhaps. I love this landscape but pin stripping my rv is a worry. I watch you hike alone on very rocky inclines and I worry how you would cope if you slipped and snapped a bone. You’re all by yourself. I tend to do these solitary things myself and I pose this same question to myself.
I've got an adaptor coming through Amazon for my mics to work properly. Sound will improve. I'm not really worried about slipping, been solo hiking all my life. If it does happen, I will call for help. Even without cell service, my iPhone can connect to overhead satellites to reach emergency services. I can even text through satellites when ever I want. I don't focus on what if scenarios. Safe Travels.
I have solar rope lights I put on top of my engine block and underneath my engine. I also prop up my hood a little. I check almost daily for any activity of mice in my engine. I also sometimes will put one of my security cameras underneath my truck which will notify me of movement. So far so good.
That was awesome! You have the best dispersed camping channel on TH-cam!
Thanks, I'm glad you like it.
Thanks for sharing! This is an area I will definitely visit.

It’s a great place to explore.
Another fantastic video and information. Thank you for doing what you do!!!
Much appreciated!
You are correct, I’ve never seen one 🌵 😂. Don’t have any on the east coast. The weather sure seems nice 👍🏼
The Southwest has some amazing scenery! You need to make your way to Arizona and check out all these Saguaros here. They are pretty neat looking.
Love this video and this place. Great job filming, and the drone shots are impressive !
Thanks!

They do!
Those cacti! Each one so different.
I couldn't get over it myself. Pretty unique.
Nice camping spot. Found some nice camping locations around Safford a few months ago... so many places to camp in AZ.
Arizona has so many options, you're right!

Quality video. Thanks.
I appreciate you watching.
You need to come to the truck camper adventure in February at Quartzsite, last year there were over 400 truck campers of all types
I’ll be there. Bought ticket a couple of months ago. Looking forward to it.
Look me up when you’re there
I would like to meet you
I’ll be in a red gmc with an Alaskan camper
Last year there were 8 Alaskan campers
Those cacti so tall! Amazing views! Breathtaking!
The Saguaros are a sight to see!
Good spot. I camp a lot just west of there. Soronan Desert National monument.
I love camping in the Sonoran Desert also. I camp off of Vekol Valley Road in the Sonoran. Great area to explore.
I've been there a couple of times over the years. Nice area but also, according to a local, the dumping ground for the Tucson ganga ... you can imagine what they dump there. I never had any issues while there.
That's an interesting detail about the area, thanks for sharing that. I can see it would be a good dumping ground.

Nice to see this part of the desert is still green (creosotes and ocotillos) as everything is fried, dry here around Quartzsite.
It can vary greatly from one year to the next in the desert. One area can be lush and another dry as a bone.

@DispersedCamperMan They're only $15 for the year, so we'll worth it.
Beautiful place to be in the winter. Suppose to get below 0 where I'm at this weekend.
I'm very fortunate to be able to winter in Arizona. Love it here.
Been looking at this area to camp. Thanks for showing it. Guess you will be in Ajo soon.

I'm making my way to Yuma slowly. I'll be there in a week or so. Looking forward to warmer weather.
I went last spring, nice but lots of rattlers
Haven't seen any rattlers. Maybe still hibernating.
Seeing your hood propped made me think, do you do anything to deter rodents? Not just from getting into the truck of course.
