I wonder when everyone will finally wake up and realize that the IRS has been progressively and illegally stealing our hard earned money since the Civil War. This criminal government conglomerate needs to be disbanded and all of the money they've stolen from us needs to be reimbursed.
I received one for my 2021 tax return. Their calculations were incorrect for the tax due, so I sent a response back. But they deducted the amount "owed" from my 2022 refund. So it's not over yet. I have to spend all this time for their error. Frustrating!

What if you're in one of those disaster zones that qualifies for the extended deadline to October 15. - Are those CP14's still being sent or are they pre-qualifying the mailers for those not in disaster zones.
They would still be sent out, regardless. They don’t automatically know if you’re in a Federally declared disaster zone. Unless of you’re in California and got an automatic extension.
I got a letter. And I paid via their approved partner payusatax in March.I got confirmation code and everything but they still send me a notice. Also I am a non resident. Just a J1 student working during summer. Dont know what to do. I cant get them on the phone…

@@NoelLorenzanaCPA the notice states the amount of tax that was due when we filed the return and the payments and credit applied for that tax year and the tax due left. And we have already paid that tax due left when we filed it with turbo tax.

They may (or may not) send you a follow up letter. You can always check your online account to ensure that your payment was applied and your account has no balance due.
I go online and the payment was applied. When I go online under the amount due column it just says info. All the other years are at zero. I just checked my mail online, and apparently my wife and I are each getting a separate letter. The first letter we got was made out to the both of us.

What if THEY owe You money? Will they send a notice when you will get your money? Can you keep sending them more threatening letters until you get it?

Did you file jointly? How did you pay and who’s social security number was used for the payment?

Hopefully they applied the payment to you both, jointly. Those letters should be to let you know that you both have no further balances due.
