It's a very pretty but gentle landscape and the snow makes it so soft. My sister went to Greenland a few times and I thought she was silly. I am so sorry for judging. What a beautiful place; & a townhouse with such a view for cheap (we live in California). I did take all her Greenland pictures and books when she passed, now I can see why I wanted them.
Great video and home. Amazing how a 10 minute video leads to hours of research on the Google. On my virtual drives around Nuuk I am always impressed by the lack of power lines as I always find them somewhat unsightly regardless of the country or city (or the street outside my home.) It was the heating system in your home that triggered my interest. Amazed to discover its a city-wide central heating system, something that I thought was mostly found in big cities with a central plant heating several buildings. That of course led to how the whole infrastructure system is put together there and even more amazed how it along with the power lines are all buried. Many challenges living in artic.
Thanks and Im glad the video gave some insights into life here in the cold north. Yes, power lines are being dug down, as well as water, sewage and district heating pipes. District heating systems are only found where it makes sense, as a lot of single family houses run on oil, but Nukissiorfiit (national utilities company) is slowly investing in district heating infrastructure for areas of economic viability (larger apartment blocs etc).

My loan to value is roughly 80% and had to put a 5% downpayment for the purchase.
Luckily the house has appreciated since I bought it, which is why the loan to value is lower.
@@AlexAmasaOlsen I love 95%LTV purchases with 5% down, (helps 1st time home buyers definitely) Appreciation worked well for your timing. It's a very nice SFR. Since I financed hundreds of mortgages in Los Angeles including most of Brad Pitt's homes, I can say that with admiration. From teachers, musicians, judges, LAPD almost every occupation possible as a Senior Loan Officer I've pretty much seen it all. You have a great mind and an abundance of common sense. Thx for your reply.
@@riffdigger2133 5% down is the standard here in Greenland and yes, appreciation worked in my favor, eventhough at the time of purchase I thought the price was ridiculous...
Thanks man and thanks for asking!
I love is video and I wood love to visit greenland
When the pandemic is over you definitely should. Spring and summer is best!
I definitely will visit greenland when the pandemic is over I love Greenland
Good video.
Thanks!
Awesome house! Just out of curiosity... why no closets?
There are closets in the lower two bedrooms, but I removed the closet upstairs to get more space
@@AlexAmasaOlsen Oh....okay. I thought maybe it was just a Greenland thing 😊 Thanks for letting me know 😂
It's a great view, but it's also a view of a graveyard.
True, it puts life in perspective..
You mean Popsicle yard???
Graveyards = History
views amazing
Yup!🇬🇱
What heating system do you use at yours?
Water based radiant heat. We have district heating, heated by primarily electro furnaces from the hydropower, so kinda clean.
Wow such a beautiful view...lol ur finger @ 4:14 looked photoshopped 🤣✌🏽👍🏽
Oh well.. Its a real finger😅😅
Thank u Alex..I hope u will keep happy....the house is lovely...have u lived in other countries like Iceland or Denmark or UK
Hi Chris, yes I have lived in Denmark, USA and Australia before.
@@AlexAmasaOlsen wow I'm surprised that you would have preferred Australia..so going from a hot country to a cold country. But I guess work is a big factor.
@@chrishannon8187 Yes, I got my first real job in Greenland. Tha was pretty much what made me move here again.
What type of vehicles you drive over there since you guys get a lot of snow and ice? I'm just curious I seen that truck outside but I'm just curious what type of vehicles work the best, I'm thinking about moving to your country.
Mostly cars with fourwheel drive, but there are all types of cars here in Nuuk. It helps being a 4x4 truck though...
That’s vary expensive here in Indiana for 300k you could have a 6 bedroom 6 bath 4 car garage house with 20 Acres
Yes, Im very aware of the skyhigh prices😂😅
Indiana, awesome! I visited a friend in Indiana when I was on an exchange high school year in Colorado😎
@@AlexAmasaOlsen i’ve been very interested about Greenland Nuuk I really want to Visit/stay for a while
Do you have any rooms available at the moment? I'd be really interested!
Hi Adam, unfortunately not, but in 5-6 months I will have
VERY NICE
