I saw your Advan Black people at Arizona Bike Week . I was looking and they asked if I ever heard of the products. I said yeah Steve on TH-cam . They pointed at a TV that I did not notice and there you were . Ha Ha ! After getting to look at the quality in person I’m ordering a tour pack .
Hey man thats awesome...yeah im sorry I couldn't make the AZ show due to having shoulder surgery...took me out for a month or so...Ill be at the Ohio bike week and then back in Ohio again for AimExpo...trying to squeeze in one or two more shows this year. Would have been great to meet you though. The tour packs are great...ive been rockin that razor for 3 years now and love it..I think the wife loves it alittle more than I do though lol
This video really helped me decide to put the Vance & Hines X-pipe header on my 2019 SG I will order the VHFP3 too! I already have the slip on mufflers! nicely done thanks!
Mine is an 07 street glide and I'm sure this instal yall just did will be the same as when I do my true dual headers. Thankyou so much for all the info. Such a huge help.
@@sikbaggers Not a quick question, I have a 2018 Ultra Limited with Cobra Neighborhood Haters slip on. I have been told to do one of two things. 1. Remove the cat or replace the headers for more power. 2. Keep it like it is but wrap the existing headers to control the heat. BTW, I did have the S&S 465 cam kit installed as well and I’m looking for the best breather filter to go along with all of this. What are your thoughts?
I am contemplating a Vance & Hines for my Fat Boy S 2016 at a cost of around $1200 Plus tuning, I wonder if I can just do Screaming Eagle slip- ons to achieve a throaty sound. What do you recommend?
I added an S&S header on my 2008 roadking but it wasn't just bolt on. Some years it would be but I had to notch the heat shield and put a spacer on the floorboard bracket. In the end I'm happy and it runs great. Be aware that you may run into some fitment issues.
yeah some headers require spacers on the right footboard...most of them come with the spacer now...the ones ive seen anyway...havent really installed in S&S in awhile though...thanks for chekcing out the video Shane...much appreciated.
Sure thing...to put it all in easy to understand terms..the narrow band sensors are well...narrow and they provide very little information...14.0/15.0:1 air/fuel ratios which is target for stock bikes ..it just tells the bike, her were lean or her were rich ...wide band sensors can measure as rich as 12:1 to as lean as 22:1 and also say her..were this much lean or were this much rich...not just rich or lean...but how much. Your fuel injection system relies on these numbers and it can only be as good as your sensors...narrow band is fine for stock bikes..you need the wide band for any kind of tuning.
no not really man..you can do a set of slip ons and an open breather which is stage one and dont need to put it on a dyno...you will however need to get a tuner. you can do the slip ons and stock breather and get away with not even tuning it. However I do recommend you get a tuner if you start playing with the exhaust and breather. The dyno is great if you are really fine tuning the bike...once you start stage 2 or higher you nee to get it on the dyno
I would have torqued those two lower tranny bolts. They have a tendency to get loose with the vibration of the exhaust. At least keep them checked often.
Great video brother I am stuck on ordering some D&D 2in 2 exhaust I have reinhart true duals on my 2014 street now but I also want to beef it up some so been looking at zippers performance upgrade what's your opinion thanks later brother
I have seen the zipper kits but never installed them...im not sure anyone around here has either...Looks to be a pretty good kit and the prices seem to be on point. Im thinking if you did your own work you could benefit from this system and save some money to boot.
Great video. I just installed my power duals and I have Torquer 450 slip-ons. The left side muffler is loose even after torqing the clamp. Has anyone else found this to be the case?
I haven't encountered that issue before with that set up but I can tell you an old school trick a mechanic showed me years ago and it works like a charm! Loosen the clamp as far as you can without taking it off...slip a penny in there so you cant see it...clamp it back down..it will tighten right up and bonus you have a penny if you need it lol just kidding..but seriously ...it works!
I really dont think you can. The front header bolt is buried in there. Take a look at your front header bolt, specifically the one in the bottom. Look to see if you think you can get a wench in there without hitting the lowers. Removing the Lowers is easy though if you have too.
After installation everything was good. After about 15 minutes into the test ride, my back head pipe started leaking around the flange. Loudly. Where did I go wrong and do I need to remove everything and seat the pipe all over?
That gaskets can be tricky David..they can get bent when tightening the bolts...however you will have to remove it to fix it...that gasket needs to come out..pick it out, clean it all up and when you put the new one in make sure the it is in all the way before you put the pipe on and then go back and forth while tightening it...half turns on each side until its snug.
My question is do I need to change stock o2 sensors on the stock head pipe to use a tuner if only changing to slipons and a higher flow air filter it’s a 2018 road glide special
No...not even really a need for a tune when youre just doing breather and slip ons...you are still restricting the air in the headers. So a true stage 1 is breather (more are in) headers (no cats, free flowing) and slip ons (more air out) then you need to tune. Your breather will allow more air in but your pinching it off in the header and then sending it to the slip ons...so there inst much of a change in the fuel/air mix.
It's not difficult at all. The fp3 is very user friendly and is all done from the app on your phone. The power vision is a bit more detailed however but still very easy to navigate. Unless you're dealing with custom one off pipes or headers there is probably already a tune for your set up...you select the pipe you jave..the breather you have and the headers and the program will pick a tune for you. Flash the bike with the new tune and ride. Both actually have a feature called auto tune..you can leave the tuner on the bike with your tune you selected and will evaluate the performance of the bike and fine tune it as you go. Pretty easy stuff and lots of videos already out there for tuning.
every header pipe company will have a disclaimer on each exhaust system letting you know about emissions...this is from vance and hines power duals website DISCLAIMER: 49-State Emissions Compliant Exhaust System. Not Legal for Sale or Use in California on Any Pollution-Controlled Motor Vehicle.
Awesome man, thanks! Didn't realize those O2 sensors came out so easy...unlike a car's O2 sensors, which are a bitch to get out. One suggestion - pick up some Harbor Freight interlocking foam mats to lay down on each side of the bike and your body will thank you haha!
Yes sir they arent to bad..I do remember busting a few off back in the day on the old trucks I had..what a pain that was lol. We have some rubber matts from harbor freight...and yes I should have used them lol..I payed for it the next day...these old knees cant take the concrete or gravel like they used to
@@sikbaggers I think around age 50 they started making concrete much harder than they used to, hell I could roll around on it after a mishap until I came to a stop. Wasn't fun but it wasn't like today, the harder stuff takes longer to heal too so it makes me WAY more cautious.
Sir thank you for your videos I always learn a ton of info. My rhinehart header pipe cracked and I'm gonna replace it with a S&S one and done wanna pay 350 to have it done I have all the tools and things I need to do it. I just needed the knowledge since on how to correctly do it.
When using a tuner the Narrow band sensors only tell the ECM if its rich, lean, or stoic for a specific range/ Air/ Fuel ratio. A Wide band sensor will tell you the exact A/F ratio. Aftermarket headers come in both flavors depending on what size you have or want you can choose.
With todays tuners there really is no tips per say...just pick out the breather, headers and exhaust you have and let it do all the work for you. You can even tune on the go..leave it plugged in and set it to auto tune and it will fine tune your map as you ride.
This video is old enough that my comment probably won’t be read but I just don’t understand why the video didn’t show the install of the exhaust into the ports of the engine. That’s why I clicked on this video in the first place. That’s the most important part of this install because if you dent those gaskets upon install you’re fucked and have to do the whole thing all over again. Am I wrong?

I have used a swivel and a long extension to get at the one front header bolt. Sure beats that wrench.

What advantage would it be to get new 18 mm o2 sensors in vs the 12 ?

Torque spec on the headers to the jugs?
First torque 9-18 in-lbs (1-2 N·m)
