Correction according to pew research the usa leads single family homes in the world. Plus when are you going to do a vud abput chinese born colombians? They exist and dont have enough coverage in the media
I see you didn’t mention the Philippines or Thailand. You just low key co-signed all the Passport hating women on TH-cam. Do me favor soy boy, and keep PB out your mouth. Also, ain’t nobody talking South America like that anyway. The conversion rate isn’t that great and it dangerous in most of those countries.
I hope it does slow down and straighten out .... As a Canadian that is seeing the writing on the wall up here and looking to go south, It would be nice to be able to go to Columbia and not be looked like a total douche. The area your in is on the list, love to go hiking in the National parks they look amazing.
Which relationship is not transactional ? Even in "real love" you have to give something and get something back. The other person won't just love you because you purely exist in this world. You always have to give something back, whether it is emotions, sex or money or everything at the same time.
Thats what most of the people commentating here dont get. If you are a guy you will get "love" if you are good looking or with your money and status. Its the same for wumen, men look for their beauty and youth. Its a shallow world we live in
Wes, you spoke a lot of truth here. Men should never travel to find a wife. They should travel to explore and learn about the world. If a good woman comes, great! If you do not speak the local language, your chances of finding good love is very low
Yes but in human history lots of the explorers and conquerers did just that. Even in places like usa and canada, you would have italian, greek, yugoslav immigrant who would go back to the "old country" to find a wife. What you said is wrong
Wes this is why you probably don't have many subscribers because you are honest and balanced. Prostitution and purely transactional relationships generally hurts both men and women everywhere.
@@WheresWes Thanks for being what I think is a positive look for us in other countries. We need more content like yours. I also see your growth as a person.
do you really think that half the couples in the united states aren't based on money and looks? Let's keep it real. This happens everywhere, people just stay quiet about it in America due to social constructs. Screw that, I rather everyone be honest. So everyone can pursue what they want.
@@ihatemyjob418 Bro if you see the last part of what I wrote it was that it "Hurts both men and women everywhere". This can be anywhere in the world. If you are ok with things being transactional and not because of a real attraction that is not based on money then that's fine. However, just know that every prostitute, golddigger or whatever has a man that has a man that pays nothing and that she genuinely cares for. Also every man secretly hates the idea of having to pay a woman money for her time and devotion and wishes that he didn't have to pay. Those men who continue to pay are doing it because of desperation and feeling that they have no choice and have low self esteem.
@@dwighthayles1226 Yes correct but that goes on both sides. A lot of men are only pretend to be in relationships with women because the women are being used for sex cause of their looks. Men don't like these women after they have sex, and then call them again the next time they get horny. Women know deep down inside they are being used for sex. So my thing is, if the man is paying the woman to be in a relationship with her, BOTH the man and woman are winning or losing. It's not just the man. In many cases, both are okay with the superficial relationship, or both are not but they do it anyway. ALSO, even if there is genuine attraction, which is great, 99% of the time you have to meet the other person's baseline criteria of money or beauty first. You have ever seen a hot 10/10 girl with a poor dude for any real relationship? LOL no. How come hot girls' soulmates happen to always be rich? lol. People shame superficial relationships all the time, but what really is the big deal? It seems like the intense fall in love relationships end up burning out the quickest and end in divorce to be honest lol.
I found my girl in Barranquilla. She’s a good honest woman and we have a great relationship. I’m 25 and she’s 21. We started off as friends and slowly over time our relationship developed to what it is now. It can happen naturally, just takes the right people !
@@WheresWes for right now it’s just the distance that’s hard to overcome but I’ve been to Colombia a few times now and am heading back real soon. Also been studying spanish now for a year. Great channel man
As someone who was born in Medellin and live in the States since I was 13 I am 37 now. My only piece of advise is that from what I can tell is that in Colombia we don't have a hooked up culture. Like in the States, for example you can go to your local bar and get hooked up with a female unfortunately in Colombia ain't no females coming to a bar to flirt and get hooked up only hookers just remember that Medellín unfortunately if you are a foreigner you will attract gold diggers
I have been here for two years. Even people forcing their help on you becomes transactional. I told my Colombian wife. The only reason why people are nice or say hello to you on the streets is because there is an agenda. They want something. I was watching a TH-cam video and this Colombian man helped him find a location. Not out of the kindness of his heart. He expected money at the end. When i am in America, I never do that. If it something easy like helping find a location and directing him in the correct direction. Not here. They will say it's over there (that way) and expect payment for the tiniest interaction. I under that they need money for food, bit if you help an American without expecting anything in return then most likely the guy will give you something without being forced to.
That's been my exact experience living in East Africa. Behind every smile and every offer to help is this kind of opportunism. I've learned to accept it, but it definitely does not endear me to the country.
I’ve never felt this kind of transactional relationship in colombia, although I’m in Cali, not Medellin. But if you think it’s bad in Colombia, you do NOT want to go to Egypt!
That makes me think you don't have any friends here. You only deal with people in the streets... might be probably looking for weed or hookers. Or just in the wrong neighborhood. Get away from that type of environment and will probably find the ones you are looking for. That was for free not looking for anything..... go study something, do cultural stuff...
I live in Medellin and have done so for 9 years. If a man seriously wants a relationship he must speak Spanish. No woman is going to take him seriously if he does not. If she is under 25, odds are real high there will be a financial understanding. If she is around 30 and up, then odds improve that she is girlfriend material. Depending on his age, the closer the age gap is, the better the odds it will work. Most women at 25 will not want to be seen in public with a man that old simply out of embarrassment and shame. A lot of guys that come to Medellin, who are young, don’t speak Spanish and think they can find a girlfriend are settling themselves up for a lot of problems. These are the same guys that get robbed, drugged or killed.
I've been here for almost 5 years now and don't know 1 single foreigner that's been in a successful long-term relationship with a Paisa from Medellin. The culture and values here are quite different than in other cities in Colombia
Hello WES, I identify with your arguments, I grew up in Manizales and I have lived in Medellin for 11 years and I have seen the behavior in different scenarios of foreigners and their Colombian companions. I'm just saying that in many cases it's a relationship of interest rather than a sentimental one, a "Win to Win". Greetings bro, I miss these sunny days in Manizales. Thanks for sharing.
The religion card is a tool in my opinion. If people were as religious as they claim they wouldn't be having abortions, pre-marital sex and all of these babies out of wedlock. This applies to people from every country. I agree that people should try to learn the language if they are serious about integrating into other cultures.
for religion people just follow what is convenient for them. and the bible can be interpreted anyway so people make up what they ever they want to believe.
They are not proper religious peopke, they go to church occasionally but don’t practice the tenets of their faith that also preaches against sex before marriage. How come 80% of the women have no morals and end up having a kid out of wedlock? And the men don’t even care for these children and their mothers?
I think you are right that a lot of American men see this kind of thing as an easy thing to exploit. One thing you did not mention in this video is that in the US, it's pretty unusual for a girl to date a guy more than 10 years older than she is. You mention some extreme examples of age gap, but that's not always the case either. And even so, it's not necissarily a problem. It depends on what your expectations are. If your expectation from a relationship is that she remembers Gilligan's Island reruns, or that she will earn 6 figures immediately, then it's probably not going to work. IMO it's those men who approach dating from a selfish perspective or being careless who would cause problems. But I've met several Colombian girls recently. The ones I've met seem honest and sincere and really looking for love. Of course they want financial security. There's nothing wrong with that. Where can you go in the world where a woman does not want that? And of course a man wants a physically attractive mate. That does not mean the relationship is 'transactional'. There are good and bad just like anywhere else and it's not good for anyone anywhere to rush into a relationship when values and goals are not aligned.
Well maybe I’m wrong but there is no such thing as financial security? Relationships seem transactional. It’s not about love unless my needs are met first.
I think a lot of these influencers are selling something very artificial. It's never a good idea to rush into a relationship or to have the mindset of traveling to find a partner or wife. There is nothing wrong with wanting to talk to local girls but if your intentions aren't in the right place it will more likely set you up for failure.
Financial security is relative. If you have no money to eat, or feed your child, then love doesn't matter all that much. But yea you could get all philosophical and say even relationships that don't seem to be transactional are, even for someone who is a giving person they are giving because it makes them happy so that is the transaction.
My story is a little bit different, I was in Medellin two weeks ago for 4 days and went out on 3 different dates: the first one with a Colombian woman I've been talking to that's friends with someone I know. Another Colombian woman from Bucaramanga that was staying at the hotel I was staying in Medellin, I simply started talking to her, I asked her out and things progressed from there. The third date was an American woman in her mid 20s from California: I met her at the airport on my way to Medellín: this one was the typical "I broke up with my bf and I'm traveling alone to re-descover myself" kind of girl; keep in mind that when they do that they're open to do just about anything (so it only took 30min of me listening to her story and a $15 dollar bandeja paisa to get her to ask me to come to her place lol. No way they'd do that in the states 😆. Anyway: I speak fluent spanish and was able to communicate perfectly so I had a great time with the Colombian dates, they were fun and their contagious femininity was truly something to admire. Both dates ended at my place and they didn't ask for anything as they were genuinely interested on hanging and having fun. For the American: I didn't go back to her place as I was not really feeling the type of energy she was projecting: during the first impression she had told me everything that was wrong with her ex and how much of a victim she was (huge difference between the charismatic Colombian women). So she asked for my Instagram and kept in touch during my 4 day stay wanting to meet in different instances but I kindly declined as I was pretty busy with other local"matter" 😉. Things to note: I did not use tinder or a dating app, I spoke to these women genuinely at a human level and not with the mentality that was superior bc I have dollars, I speak fluent spanish, have tattoos and have decent game in both English and Spanish. Good luck to you gents 🙌
Well those girls are cheap and they may be feminine as you claim, but are so easy to go to a complete stranger’s hotel place they hardly know to talk and possibly end up having sex. What makes you think you are special and they are not doing it with the next American guy that comes along ?? No wonder relationships don’t last in Columbia because the girks are easy to throw s3x in your face, and end up getting pregnant and std possibly and the men not taking any responsibility. Because the men and women hardly knows each other in the first place These women are no different than thise in the west
Correct as a colombian..most colombians stay away from other foreigners...you can find a meaninful relationship in medellin is far away from el poblado.
Watching this makes me realize how lucky I am for finding a winner on my first try. But like you said, I went after a Christian which put the odds in my favor 😊
@6:00 By law that girl is not underaged as the legal age of consent is 14 in Colombia (crazy but true). It is however illegal for her to work as a prostitute (assuming that is what she was doing at that party).
@@WheresWes If you're referring to the US federal law on "Extraterritorial Sexual Exploitation of Children", it covers rape, molestation, trafficking, and prostitution. If a US citizen is in Colombia and has a girlfriend who is under 18, what will the US gov't. charge him with (assuming this is a real relationship and not a paid relationship)?
I even offered to help with my wife's nice. I see the family struggling and I even offered to adopt. To give thr girl a life that she can advance in. I know it's crossing the line when someone asked that of someone. But I feel I got the resources to help out, but people here in Colombia don't consider the future. I would never take them from their parents but because of USA laws. For me to give full benefits. My wife and me would have to take full custody.
Their women have to not give sex easily to men. You lot are running away from western women, and end up with women that are single mothers or girls that seduces you with fake feminity and these girks end up turning out to be the same women for the west you were running away from in the first place 😂. You have to put your thinking cup on and nit think with your d because these girks are throwing themselves at you over a cheap meal and drink
This guy talks about Colombian relationships having a monetary component. As if that’s not also the situation in the west. Women are the same everywhere. At least in Colombia the financial component of the relationship is VOLUNTARY because the gringo is getting what he wants. Instead of him being literally enslaved and sometimes jailed because of things like child support, alimony, community property, etc.
Where's the exploit? Everyone knows what they're getting into.. "love" doesn't exists its always transactional in some way. What we characterize as love is when a woman loves for superior genetics, which is as close to love as you can get
They actually did try to make it harder to move here. I just went to renew my pensioner visa and the requirements are much more difficult than last year
Met my wonderful woman on a dating site. She's from Valledupar and we met in Santa Marta. Her mother was worried because of the murder in Bogotá. I told her to bring her mother and kids along and we had a great time. I've never been treated so well in my life. Just an amazing woman and I gained 4lbs in 10 days. If you have a Colombian woman be ready to eat.
I have been many times to Medellin/Colombia and if you are going to clubs to find soul mate you are in trouble. Beautiful country Colombia is but to meet your other half that you are looking for is not easy !
Gentlemen, as an older guy (50yo), I can share a perspective on dating from decades of experience. First, it sounds a little naive to “find love.” You don’t search for it. Let it happen. Actually, one may think it’s overrated. Additionally, there are a bunch of people who started in “love” and ended in divorce or even hating each other. However, I think Wes made excellent points about what makes relationships work. One, culture and values are important! Second, I think people are more likely to stick together because both are getting something out of the relationship vs. being in love. Love changes over time, just look at divorce court. 😆 P.S. passport brothers are exploiting women?! How so when they’re giving up time, money and resources to be with women?!
I met my ex-Colombian wife thru internet dating site, but not in a sponsored group party. I went to one those parties where 20 American men attended in hotel with 200+ women. Almost all American men over 60 years old wanted to marry with women younger than 30. To me that was unrealistic. I was 50 and were looking for women not more than 10 years younger for compatibility.
Very well stated Wes. I am working on my visa, and yes, I am of retirement age. Lucky for me, I discovered influencers like yourself and a good woman who taught me about Colombian culture over a bit of time. Yes, I had the typical American mindset when I arrived for my first visit 4 years ago. This old man has decided that until I learn the language and settle into my new apartment and neighborhood that I have no reason to date anyone. Just my 2 cents.
Or perhaps you just see Colombia through your own past experiences as a man who couldnt meet better women than that. I have meet plenty of nice women in Colombia. Friendly, loyal, beautiful etc. You meet the women you deserve - just like anywhere in the world.
@@WheresWes Maybe I do, or you just like generalizing towards all men in general who come there and date now once you found a wife after 2 years of dating. You did numerous videos yourself btw on you screwing around, but now once you found your women it is fine to talk about how everything is transactional. Ok, dude
@@vikingexploring Yea that is a good point. I really like Wes and his videos, but he dated and had his fun. No need to put down anyone else when they are only doing the same thing you did in the past.
I tend to agree with you. And no matter where I live around the world even if I'm meeting Latin and Asian women in the US or abroad it's not that hard to find a loyal, kind, submissive, "ride and die" women no matter where I'm at. it all depends on you, I've had no issues and in fact it's harder to find a woman that is NOT these things than is. I've dated and continue today multiple women who have been loyal to me for five or ten years or more even when they didn't need to be because we weren't exclusive. Women in general are more submissive and kind compared to men so I'm not sure why dudes are having issues. You need to elevate your mind and your status and then the women will come. Get your money right and get your bedroom game right. Most important live your life and understand most of what you hear on TH-cam is wrong.
@@Re3iRtH Some quality points here. I've meet several women both in Asia and now recently in Latin America who literally would do anything for me. If you make a good impression and they see value in you they don't forget about you. I'm still in contact with a chick in Colombia who literally became inspired because of me and is now working out every morning 6 times a week. There are plenty of loyal and good women out there. I've meet shitty women and had some bad relationships in the past because I wasn't a better man at that point. If I can't attract a good woman in Colombia well, then that is completely on myself. They women you attract are a reflection of yourself - it really isn't more complicated than that.
soooo TRUE. I live in Panama and its expensive af. Colombia the dollar will goo wayyy further there. We love going there. Its cheaper to do Tourism in Medellin than in Panama. If you wanna live here in panama well. I mean in a good area, you better make at least 3500 to 4000 a month. ur totally right bud.
It's not just Colombia, I don't go anywhere "passport bros" flock to anymore for this very reason. They've given American men an absolutely awful reputation. Last time I went to Colombia I avoided anyone with an American accent. Unfortunately my Spanish still sucks so I did my best to speak English when I had to with a heavy Mediterranean accent so the locals couldn't identify me as an American. Its very sad this is what you have to do to not be associated with lame trash sex tourists.
Decent video with some truths . The biggest game changer is speaking Spanish . In 2023 a guy with very little knowledge of the Colombian culture , little or no Spanish , and only here for a week-2 week vacation will in fact only find transactional relationships, that’s completely true !! But if your a guy that has spent time in Colombia, stays there for extended periods of time , gets involved in learning about the culture , and makes a network of friends , you will most definitely meet and enjoy the REAL company of very nice Colombian women who in fact are interested in a real relationship. However this is the only way guy will get a chance to know that side of dating in Colombia. Sorry to say “ passport bros “ , but the only thing you will find in Colombia is what the video states : transactional relationships.
Even with my wife's sister's boyfriend. Only time he comes near me is when he needs something. Never in the two years knowing him has it been just to hang out.
@@kurrwa All relationships are transactional. Wake up! You have something that the other party wants or it goes no further than hello. She wants money, looks, status, a family, or all four. You want sex, beauty, cooperation, a family, or all four. You can believe whatever fairy tale you want. The real questions are if you can’t get everything you want then what will you settle for? And, how much will what you do settle for cost in terms of money, energy, attention, and time?
HUGE risk to go to Colombia, when you could be likely drugged, robbed or murdered. I also just talked to a Colombian women yesterday and she talked to me about this very thing happening in Brazil. There’s a huge risk in traveling to other countries in South America or Central America. It’s just a fact.
Not Central America, not in Costa Fica or Panama! We don’t care about gringos here and is expensive ! You are not special! Only for poor and women that do not anything ! We can only like a nice normal educated American guy
He’s so right. How are you going to find a better relationship in a country where they are more dysfunctional than your own. Unless, you’re a sugar daddy and you’re going to buy her out of situation.
Disagree tbh. Dating in colombia to me is way easier than dating in the states. It's about 50/50 thots to good women in the popular towns but if you find a good woman she tends to go deep fast because she knows its rare to be dealing w someone who isnt solely looking for sex, has at least a decent level of stability, is even remotely open to the idea of marriage, isnt physically abusive, and isnt cheating on her. Of course having access to a first world country like america where citizenship by investment costs $1.8m, having access to a world renowned passport, and speaking fluent english is a plus but tbh the green card in itself is not that great if you don't know how to navigate American society. You'll just end up being a poor American, which we have a lot of. People are so weary about getting used for a greencard but I look at it like this: you also get a green card, and if you utilize her to get expedited citizenship to Spain, this means you can get an equal amount of access from your partner as they can get from you because you'll now have a colombian citizenship and an EU (Spain) citizenship. As far as language, tbh If language is a problem a great way to break that is to meet a woman at a language exchange where she either already speaks some English or she is completely with the idea of you teach me and I teach you. This is also a good way to bond. I think the bad are worse in medellin and Cartagena and the good are way better. Meaning the girls with bad intentions will truly do you dirty and the good women will Truly cater to you. I don't know about this whole submissive wave, I don't even think a modern American man wants true submission. I think most men want cooperation, and I've found this to be widely available in these cities if you vet the woman correctly. Def not night clubs or party groups, but family friendly concerts, sporting events, small get togethers, language exchanges, dance clubs (by club I mean a group of people that meet for dance lessons), cooking groups, gaming lounges, art groups and things like that have better women. Also, stop going for the IG models, go for the 7 - 9s. I always tell people if it's sex you want just go to a Brothel or through a trusted middleman, don't meet girls on line or at the club for this and youll drastically reduce the occurrence of nonsense. If you go clubbing, just go to have fun for yourself. If its sex, go to a brothel strip club. Get w a girl who has a career or is pursuing one who values family and is roughly conservative and you'll get a way better dating experience there. The whole transactional thing - it depends on how you look at it. You've been put into a male gender role and your money is like 5x theirs, of course you're gonna be the breadwinner. Only invest in an exclusive partner though otherwise you're a trick. Make sure there is an roi on investing in her. An exclusive partner invests back into you btw. As for the gringo who put his girlfriend in the trunk, tbh that's def not the norm usually its the other way around with being drugged, and I don't see what that has to do with prostitution because to my knowledge that wasn't a prostitution based relationship. Those women get treated worse by their men than any typical gringo would ever treat them. I think dating in colombia, medellin, Cartagena are awesome but you def have to vet who you're dealing with. Don't lead with money on some baller ish just do cool fun things and eventually you'll expose what type of person you're really dealing with. Don't send payments to anyone or pay for their bills. If you party, try to do the intimate parties or lounges rather than clubbing it out w a date. Keep things exclusive and chill and figure that person out first. Get w a woman with a respectable age, not a freaking 18 year old. Sweetspot is like 24-28 + or - 1 in my opinion. I'd say 12 year max age difference. As far as passport bros, I don't really see them ruining anything tbh they're encouraging responsible travel and dating more receptive women. The ones who promote sex tourism - that's not aimed at non sex worker women which are women who are gonna sell the box anyways. Medellin prostitution was going on way before widespread travel, even in times where no one came to colombia and especially medellin because of drug wars. That is a function of country poverty and sexism over anything else. Bro got kicked out of Brazil because of feminist backlash. Although I do think his style of communication is dry and arrogant the last thing he was doing in Brazil was disrespecting women. He was putting then on a pedestal like they were God or something. Question though: how do you think the banning of uber will affect these tourist cities in colombia?
@@Gabby__88 that's your opinion, not his intention. I don't even really rock with the guy, but he put Brazilian women on a pedestal more than anyone I've ever seen. Even my Brazilian homegirls don't put themselves on a pedestal the way he did. They literally tell me "get w a Brazilian girl it will be the best sex you ever had, but she might f*** your sister after you". Dude had 30 videos about how great Brazil women are and had 1 line that could be interpreted as bad, and everyone took that one line and flipped it.
A really great video, thanks. You hit on all the points not to many guys want to say publicly. I like the comment on the guy hosting parties for money filled with night life type of women, I don't think many guys realize how they are being monetized in the States and in Colombia, and yes your right about the Philippines its my favorite place and now these influencers are really ruining the place and not only that you are correct they go place to place using and abusing women then are shocked at the violence against the, Oh yes one more comment you are correct looking for a wife at the club isn't congruent with wanting love and romance and a family and also meeting nice women at church isn't uncommon like you suggest. Thanks.
If men want to date down in Colombia get out of the tourist areas which are known for pay to play and know Spanish and be realistic about your age as a man. If you a 30-40+ year old man and you get with a woman in her early 20s most likely she’s not attracted to you because of your looks and is most likely for financial reasons or your status for being a “gringo”. It’s just the reality of things. The older a man gets the more he needs to understand how it affects his dating options in finding a woman that really will be with him if he loses all money since a lot of women are known to leave through the back door once the money is temporarily or permanently gone. However theres cases of men being really old and the woman liking him physically but that’s not always the case.🤔
I have been following your channel for a while now, I agree with what you're saying. I met my wife on tinder and we chatted for two years on Whatsapp . Just my opinion should date someone close to your age. My wife is 5 years younger, and she is from Bogota. We finally met last year in November and this year February we got married. It is true there are lots of single women with children. My wife has two older children 17 and 22. I guess I lucked out on that. Your correct generally, Colombian women do not do hook up culture. When you find a good woman, they do have very good family values and you can see that when they are with their family. When I came to Colombia I was meeting with her family and you can see the tightness of the family structure. The family had a lot of worries as well for her and they just want to make sure that I would be a good guy to her and her kids. And they do hear a lot of things about bad things about gringos. And being an Asian American just like you, it was very different territory for their family as well. I did notice many things about her that attracted me to her when I dated many American women here with children, many American women. They always put their kids first. They don't put their significant other in the same equal as their children and what I noticed. The statement she would make is that I would tell her well. Your kids are most important and you put them first always she would tell me no. I put the family first and that is my husband and my children will come first so that's what really attracted me to my wife. She values her husband and her children at the same face value. I like I stated most American women that are single mother put their children first and the new husband or the new person in their life is always going to be 3rd or 4th. They're always the back seat. But I find my wife puts me at the same value as her children I am just as important to her as her children are. And that made me feel equal. And that to me have a good feeling that I get the equal respect and that I will respect your children and her equally as well.
Agree with you, Wes, that money doesn't determine relationships. Transactional relationships happens as money enters society. Love Columbia but we'll see how it navigates the influx of $.
Interesting Video. I agree with a lot of what you said. I, myself have been looking for a city to study Spanish in Colombia. I'm looking for a school that provides instruction from A1-C2 will also provide the DELE prep course. A school that will allow me to use the student visa. It seems Medellin, Cartagena, and Bogota are my choices. I will admit I have not explored all my options. I would also love to find a traditional lady to settle down with and continue to live in Colombia. My daughter graduates from HS next year. I'll hit you up for a consult when the time comes. Thanks for your content, its very helpful.
I am a young 66 year old looking guy dating off and on there for 11 years, and never had issues. I only date age 50+ women that have jobs though. Retire this year so will fly into Pereira in 13 days and check out Armenia. Most of my time in has been with women in Medellin, and I agree with you except the older women and men there still have the Piasa spirit and this is more of a under 45 ish problem IMHO. Thanks.
Enjoyed your video immensely. The truth is that Colombian women expect their men to be unfaithful, to abandon them, with or without kids. So, their feelings are shallow as to not hurt themselves. Expecting deep feelings from them is a big mistake. Like you said, a 60 year old guy will enjoy his time with a relatively young mom of 3. That's your best bet.
Dating in Barranquilla is much better, and NORMAL than Medellin. There is far, far less scammy and shiftless behavior. Barranquilla has much more morality.
Married to Colombian since 92. She was in the US since 84. Stop looking so far away. There are gems close to you. Just look outside of your normal hood.
Living in Medellin for a 11/2 months and I gotta say the dating here is a crap shoot, it’s an illusion that it’s WAY better than the states, you may have more options but like you said, single moms, toxic women with no real values, products of broken homes, side hustling girls. It’s a lot to take in and your best bet is probably church in Colombia even though you ended up with some odd cult like fanatic situation, no pun intended . I know a lot of women that reject church in Colombia and they are by far not trust worthy for wife material, maybe FWB or a buddy but that’s it. For example: single mom (FWB) left her husband young after having a child with him. Reason for that is she fell out of love and loves the Rumba. The ex has a new wife with a new daughter and goes to church every Sunday. She gave up a good man to basically F around, her own choice to be a single mom in Colombia. And yes, dysfunctional family dynamics and no relationship with her mother, father yes but no real family model to go off of. The story repeats. Meanwhile, this persons’s recent ex from Florida is notifying her that her petition for fiancé interviews are coming up..😮 all while she’s getting her back blown out by me. Please, don’t be at the receiving end of these women like these men. Open your eyes and see the woman for what she is in front of you. Colombian women can be cold blooded. Protect and vet appropriately, the disfunction doesn’t take long to rear it’s ugly head if it’s there. I’m learning that the modern way of dating is everywhere, yes even Latin America.
Wes, Your comment is spot on. Yet, I seriously doubt that the people participating in those 'relationships' are innocent bystanders... Men or women. Both know what they are getting into. What happened to that poor girl in Bogota, has happened -and happens- in the US: Jelous guy kills his sugar baby when he learns she's messing with other men. In Colombia perhaps it's a novelty because it was a crime of foreigner on Colombian. But there's also been crimes of women on foreigners... Best thing guys can do is to be careful, don't get drunk, don't do drugs... Oh wait! In that case foreigners won't go to Colombia to party anymore! The reason a lot of guys go to Colombia, Pataya, Punta Cana, etc. is to party, do stupid things they can't do back home. Just a fact of life.
Correction: men who go overseas to look for sex are the problem. True passport bros aren’t traveling for that; we are genuinely interested in learning the country, culture and people of that nation and to escape the Matrix (ie Western Modern Culture). Most guys, you speak of in this video is not the latter. I’m black American and I speak Spanish and it has definitely benefited me as I have met many friends (men and women). I don’t go there to look for women, party, get drunk or drugs. If there is a woman my friends think I would like, they have a small get together at someone’s house we know and if we happen to like each other, then so be it. If not, no problem…I have another friend. I travel there frequently, and I’ve learned to stay away from areas that have mostly other foreigners especially other Americans. Particularly Parque Lleras en el Poblado and La 70 en Laureles. It’s unfortunate what happened to the young lady being killed by “the Gringo”. However, hopefully Medellin will step up to put an end to sex tourism which is ruining that city (and many others). I’m American, and even I can’t stand to be around other Americans. Sidenote: when Austin said the women are easier. He probably didn’t mean they are easy to sleep with. From my standpoint he probably meant they are easier to approach and and easier to get along with.
interesting point. The passport bros movement has been pretty much highjacked to heavily focus on women though. Look at all the TH-cam content about it
@@WheresWes have actually. It went from looking at other traditional cultures outside the US and to escape Modern western views (which you accurately pointed out) as being vile, with little to no morals and values, especially traditional values. The only reason I travel to Medellín now is because I get my dental work done every 2-3 months. When that’s done, I plan to go to other isolated areas of Colombia; Pereira, Salento or Manizales that don’t have as much “foreigners “ traveling there.
You literally have passport bros starting families, businesses, investment groups, etc all over the world yet it is intentionally ignored. At some point we have to address the elephant in the room and stop pretending these accusations don't have racial undertones. Sexpats have been a thing for decades if not centuries yet suddenly passport bros ( a movement largely perceived as black) are ruining countries and dating everywhere...
@@nawbeech4789 I was just talking to a friend about this!!!!! We believe it is because the Matrix isn’t happy about it and using unfortunate events of American men getting murdered or someone from the states murdering someone to either prevent other countries accepting us into their country to travel or discourage their women from accepting us to be suitable partners for marriage. From statistical data: 50% of single men in the US prefer not to even engage with women and even though men represent the majority of the high earners, it is women who make up 80% of consumer spending which the majority of that money comes from men. With that being said… many Americans who travel abroad get murdered (or close to being murdered) often because of ignorance, stupidity and bad judgment. All of a sudden, a gringo kills someone and now it’s worldwide news??!!!??? Like you said, I know more than several men who’ve met their spouses from Colombia and they have been married for years with families, yet everyone focuses on the percentage of men who want to go over there just to “sow their seed”??
@@Ronin_Noir There is a lot of passport bros on social media who are just doing it for women. Either you tell those guys to stop calling themselves passport bros or you stop calling yourself one.
I think you can meet traditional women that are not religious, BUT, it's almost impossible in the west. My one and only experience was dating an agnostic Mexican in Mexico, and despite her being agnostic, I do have to emphasize she had a good family and was raised well.
I met my Colombian wife in an airport, outside of Colombia. She doesn't compete with those runway models, but I don't care. She makes my food, laughs at my stupid jokes, and accepts my weird American customs. Also she keeps me warm at night and hardly ever says "not tonight honey". I am a happy man.
Love wes your one of few who came with the right intensions. Not all men are coming to colombia to exploit anyone. You didnt Wes and i would not. One love
Most men who never really date anyone when they were young aren't going to be able to tell what is love vs transactional. I ain't here to judge the 60 year old, and at the end of the day, he is getting something that is nearly impossible to pull in the western world. I would just enjoy it instead of trying to find love. I know the paisa beauty is hard to resist, but I would be very careful who to invite into my life out of mde for that matter, and men should have the final say to be in a relationship, not the other way around
I think the experience you're describing in the beginning of the video is probably common for most foreigners because you guys, despite what you say, haven't effectively integrated into enough social circles in Medellin and haven't formed meaningful bonds with enough Colombians. The Colombian women my friends and I have dated were some of our best relationships. I've seen the side of the coin you're describing too though and as mentioned, it's the outcome the average foreign man can expect. Especially if you're ugly and don't speak Spanish.
Had planned to improve Spanish through schooling/home stay in Medellin but I feel like I'll be more likely to find woman with value in Manizales... I'm 30 and not into sex tourism, looking for the real deal.
As a disabled vet I'm just tired of the BS in the states now. I get enough from the VA to be considered high middle class there and I'm of Spanish decent don't really look like a gringo. I just want a slower pace of life and if I meet some cool.
Im 37 I met my lady (27yrs) naturally before learning much spanish, we have been talking for 5 months..i have visited 2 times...now my son(16yrs) and I are going to visit for a month. She seems sincere but i do know that money matters a little...how much is the question hahaa
I have had several women in Medellin acting like they have fell in love, sending me gifts to the USA, and love letters etc. I’m not sure what you are talking about here I think it depends on the guy. But you are right, we are the prize 🏆 and that is quite clear
If you are a good looking 6’ tall gringo with charisma you can easily find true love in Colombia . But then again that goes for just about anywhere in the world. 80% of women target 10% of men, it’s a sad fact. If you are a punny simp and she is a smoking hot Colombiana , then she will probably run your bank account dry.
Underage is problem. I was chatting recently with a girl on facebook. She looked young. However from the photos on her facebook showing her 15th birthday party I realized that she is 15. But on the other hand she is really really poor. She is living in a shack. Her mother is sick. She has an age appropriate Colombian boyfriend who is broke. She needs a man who will be kind to her but can also help support her. I was a little bit torn ethically, I don't think it's so black and white, but I had to block her.
15 is legal in Colombia, but it's about your morals. Proveerty is tragic but what can you do? USA has huge problems with trafficking children even more teenagers
@@kurrwa Since 2009 it has become illegal in Colombia to pay for sex with a girl under 18, although the law is seldom enforced. The age of consent in Colombia is 14. I’m just saying that it’s not so black and white. If you pay a 15 year old girl, who in any case is sexually active, for sex so that she can buy medicine for her mother or patch a hole in the roof, are you a monster? But on the other hand there is a risk of being arrested.
If your not willing to learn the language your not serious about love in another country. It’s purely transactional with a translator on your phone at a certain point.
I am 50 I live in the US and speak 3 different languages. The odds of me visiting a country that speaks a language I have no clue about is zero to none no matter how hard I want to party there. Just makes no sense. Visited France and had no clue what does clowns were saying, do you call that a good time? You have your priorities wrong. Your experience is a thousand times better when you speak the language.

I came here to train for cycling and enjoyed my time so I got an apartment, after spending a good amount of time here it is definitely an uphill battle because I’m from America, I’m Native American and for them to think I’m a gringo right away is something I don’t like. And the real gringo who did that shit in bogota put a bad name on any and all foreigners with good intentions.
I am actually taking time to learn the language because i want to really invest in the country if i plan on building a family with a woman who is potentially there. I have spoken to some of the women there but i really hope they get rid of the legal prostitution
Actual trying to make prostitution here illegal would never work and would make things worse. Compared to most countries Colombia has fewer problems with prostitution because few of the prostitutes are controlled by criminals.
@@AlexanderBeenGreat If you know how prostitution works in Colombia you can take measures to avoid getting drugged and robbed. The people getting drugged and robbed are doing very stupid things that would get them in trouble in almost any country. Colombia has prostitutes that give quickies in rooms close to strip joints. Only an idiot would go to such a place because of the type of men running such establishments. Other prostitutes are independents who advertise on websites where they give out a Whatsapp number that clients use to arrange to meet at a hotel. Foreigners can afford good hotels so if they choose a sleazy hotel they are idiots. Only an idiot would let the prostitute get the room or invite the prostitute to a room that is their regular room for sleeping where they have their luggage and other valuables. Anyone with a brain obtains a hotel room only for the express purpose of having the sex. Non-idiots only bring the money and a burner phone to that room, and they tell security and the front desk that they will only be leaving the hotel after they check out of that room and leaving with others without checking out means they are being coerced and security should intervene. You can literally tell the front desk that you have arranged a whore to visit and that you will NOT voluntarily leave with her. When the girl arrives the non-idiots meets her at the front desk and instructs her to put her valuables including her phone in the front desk safe. If she later uses another phone in the room make her leave right away and lock the door. Never allow the girl to bring a friend along. Idiot foreigners can't get their heads around the fact that prostitution is totally legal so they get tricked into acting stupid. If foreigners stayed sober and planned the girl's visit as if she was a shoe shiner known by the hotel visiting their room to shine their shoes and leave alone they would not get drugged and robbed.
All of the 'scope' cases I find are in cities with International Airports. If you don't get OUT of those cities, don't expect to find love. I have been with my lady for over 3 years and I am still deliriously happy, but I had to sort through the gold-diggers and thieves, plus lots of nice ladies but not with whom I could live forever, to find her.
Wes, or anyone who lives there / from there - what is dating like for someone who isn’t Christian or Catholic? I identify more as simply a spiritual person. I’m not entirely against Catholicism or Christianity as I accept all religions and backgrounds. Simply curious as what it might be like for someone who isn’t one of those religious backgrounds. also side question - where would you suggest in Colombia for one who is very outdoorsy and adventurous? Some have suggested Cali but curious once again. Thanks a ton. Best.
there is no general rule but many women will look down at you honestly. and depends on luck charisma and other things so everything can happen it's just a bit harder
What up Wes??!! Long time, brother!! As you state in your video, it all depends on what the man wants and what the woman wants. I've heard both sides, bro. I know both sides. As far as the passport bros. I know PLENTY of them that have steady Colombian girlfriends and wives, brother. No lies. I'm still with my girlfriend now. The passport bro movement is where I met two of these guys that have married their women and we all had a great time the last time I was there in December. Me and my girlfriend STILL use Google translate, but I am learning more Spanish through her and she's learning English through me. I've been to her house many times, they even allowed me in the kitchen to cook a bit, bro! You KNOW I'm in when I'm allowed in the kitchen! I wasn't in there for long, though.. lmao!!! You're definitely right with men sexualizing Colombia and you're right that NO ONE will probably find a good woman hanging in the club with super revealing clothes (no judgment here) but keep in mind the reason you met and ultimately married your wife.

Prostitution and purely transactional relationships generally hurts both men and women everywhere.
agreed. thanks for the comment bro

do you really think that half the couples in the united states aren't based on money and looks?
I knew you were going to tackle this tragedy...Looking forward to watching it!

@约翰·萨拉 my guy. I will go to Medellin in November let me know if you down to meet. Meet my friends and not hooker or gold diggers
So hook up with hookers now that make sense :D
I have been here for two years. Even people forcing their help on you becomes transactional. I told my Colombian wife. The only reason why people are nice or say hello to you on the streets is because there is an agenda. They want something. I was watching a TH-cam video and this Colombian man helped him find a location. Not out of the kindness of his heart. He expected money at the end. When i am in America, I never do that. If it something easy like helping find a location and directing him in the correct direction. Not here. They will say it's over there (that way) and expect payment for the tiniest interaction. I under that they need money for food, bit if you help an American without expecting anything in return then most likely the guy will give you something without being forced to.
good point
It is not true that people expect payment for the tiniest interaction unless they are actual hustlers.
Yeah exactly

Yeah it's my biggest problem with Catholic countries actually
for religion people just follow what is convenient for them. and the bible can be interpreted anyway so people make up what they ever they want to believe.
Mark Anthony begs to difer about the age gap thing 😂
hehe yes, he is now my hero.
Thanks for sharing
Well those girls are cheap and they may be feminine as you claim, but are so easy to go to a complete stranger’s hotel place they hardly know to talk and possibly end up having sex. What makes you think you are special and they are not doing it with the next American guy that comes along ?? Women are the same everywhere. At least in Colombia the financial component of the relationship is VOLUNTARY because the gringo is getting what he wants. Instead of him being literally enslaved and sometimes jailed because of things like child support, alimony, community property, etc.
Shhh you will upset the betas. Only wumen can be shallow and fall in "love" with 6 foot 6 atheletic rich models
Colombia is West, ignorant
Where's the exploit? Everyone knows what they're getting into.. "love" doesn't exists its always transactional in some way. What we characterize as love is when a woman loves for superior genetics, which is as close to love as you can get
good point
They actually did try to make it harder to move here. I just went to renew my pensioner visa and the requirements are much more difficult than last year
You are so right, brother.
😂😂😂😂😂Bro you hits the nail about LA and passport bros, some woman are weird in LA 7:27
Bro, that was a classy move inviting the whole family out to the date.
Great content, thank you!
cheers bro
It all begins with culture and values once those are penetrated things start to go downhill I think this is happening with many places in the world
Good review on the subject
I have been many times to Medellin/Colombia and if you are going to clubs to find soul mate you are in trouble. Beautiful country Colombia is but to meet your other half that you are looking for is not easy !
Great Video, facts upon facts!!!
P.S. passport brothers are exploiting women?!
I was 50 and were looking for women not more than 10 years younger for compatibility.
you have to be really desperate to go into parties like that to find life partner lmao
You meet the women you deserve - just like anywhere in the world.
lol maybe you're in the 5% of success. Maybe you're over exaggerating your success, which I think is probably closer to the truth.
Shout to you for the honesty
So you’re saying it’s pointless for me as an American to go to Colombia for a relationship?
not pointless just more dificult.
Auston literally said they're easier to deal with not in terms of sex bro ...
Wes, thank you. As a Muslim Man you confirmed what I already believed.
84 percent single mom rate!
All men pay…I wouldn’t do Medellin but those transactions are still cheaper than what it costs in the US..Just saying 🤷♂️
@@M.J.TheGr8 you have really shallow point of view for life to see sex as payment 🤣 I would argue if that's cheaper or not
@@kurrwa All relationships are transactional.

Awesome comment mate. Your comment is certainly a better reflection than this whole video.
"The last thing I was doing was disrespecting them" lol

@@Gabby__88 that's your opinion, not his intention. I don't even really rock with the guy, but he put Brazilian women on a pedestal more than anyone I've ever seen.
Thanks.

@06:07 the age of consent in Colombia is 14 so it’s underage here in USA but not by their laws
Rewind 01:21 oh my word.
good content as always
As Wes pointed out, men want youth and beauty. Women want financial stability. If its a match, whats the problem?
@@dondomingo6578 No Problem if parties agree and know the risks.
30-40 is not old for a man lol. That's prime. 45+ is getting on a bit much for 20 year olds

Thx for sharing
Agree with you, Wes, that money doesn't determine relationships. Transactional relationships happens as money enters society. Love Columbia but we'll see how it navigates the influx of $.
I agree with you about Colombia..So if someone wanted to find a conservative woman for a relationship, which South American country would you suggest?
Explain more, Wes. When you state a conclusion, provide us the data/scientific evidence/data that supports your conclusion

It feels like you might be insecure about more competition coming in from the states?
Lololol what competition, I'm married
Thank you for sharing🙏🏾

What about if it’s a small age difference like a 38-year-old guy with a 26-year-old girl?
the only people who would have a problem with that are probably single women in their mid 30's.
Good video!
Wes,
Your comment is spot on.
😂soooo true. We’re there to do stupid things we can’t do back home. Why else would we go there.

Sexual tourism is too high for Columbia, or Philippines or Thailand.
She likes your money
That is gross.

But on the other hand there is a risk of being arrested.
If your not willing to learn the language your not serious about love in another country. It’s purely transactional with a translator on your phone at a certain point.
Are you discouraging people who don’t yet speak spanish from going to Colombia to date someone?
most definitely. 99.9% of Colombia still speaks Spanish so it doesn't make a ton of sense, plus too much risk.

Just makes no sense. Visited France and had no clue what does clowns were saying, do you call that a good time? You have your priorities wrong. Your experience is a thousand times better when you speak the language.
@@babakalhessabi3233 it’s not about partying. If you seen Colombian bodies you would be hypnotized like I am. I don’t speak much Spanish but I need a Colombian or Venezuelan wife, language or not I won’t settle for less.
@@mreyesj2 my ex is Dominican and am currently dating a paisa straight outta Medellin. I speak Spanish fluently and that’s the only kind of woman I ever be dating. Just don’t be jealous bro 😄
EVERY FRIEND OF MINE FROM MEXICO HAVE DONE REALLY GOOD WITH WOMEN IN COLOMBIA
I can see that
I came here to train for cycling and enjoyed my time so I got an apartment, after spending a good amount of time here it is definitely an uphill battle because I’m from America, I’m Native American and for them to think I’m a gringo right away is something I don’t like. And the real gringo who did that shit in bogota put a bad name on any and all foreigners with good intentions.
I am actually taking time to learn the language because i want to really invest in the country if i plan on building a family with a woman who is potentially there. I have spoken to some of the women there but i really hope they get rid of the legal prostitution
good for you
Actual trying to make prostitution here illegal would never work and would make things worse. Compared to most countries Colombia has fewer problems with prostitution because few of the prostitutes are controlled by criminals.
@@casamurphy I don’t know how, enough men getting drugged and robbed as is.
That “pregnet guy” twerkin on satan. Never saw that
Austin said easier to deal with not easy as in immoral and loose, and it was blown out of proportion, and a lot of this sounds like simping....
Don't be Simping!!!
There are PLENTY of us out here like that, we just don't advertise it.
Always awesome videos, brother! I hope to meet you and your wife down in Manizales one day!!!
Thanks for sharing bro!
R the girls from medellin or other cities?
@@WheresWes They are all paisas from Medellín, brother. By the way, I plan on proposing to my girl in August.... 😁
Damn awesome we need to see more of those stories
@@WheresWes I agree 1000%, brother. However, you know as well as I do that bad news travels fast and lingers longer and good news moves at a snails' pace, if at all
thanks.. wont be going down there
There’s being a traditional woman then there’s doing what it takes to keep you and your children off the streets.
Is Barranquilla the same as Medellin and Cartagena?
not sure, haven't been.
I land there tomorrow.
Thanks!
No. It definitely is not. If you go, like I did, you'll see the difference. Like Salt Lake City. Is it the same as Detroit?
@@sociologynut8033 I’ve been here for four days and so far I would it’s not the same.
Is inflation skyrocketing there
Yeah it's been pretty bad this last year
Wes question how long have you been in Colombia and are you single do you have a partner is she from Colombia
