This is one of my biggest things for future changes to frames. I don't care if a frame is "good" or not, if I'm only using like one ability I think that justifies some changes. I'm looking at you Revenant.
I was thinking this myself. Like Caliban is 'better' but still very 'Meh'. And Koumei.... Just gonna bite my tongue on that one. But the 'Lite Reworks' have all been fantastic.
I'm so glad they made this change, I do wish it was true flight though. If you want some funny crap you can put blazing pillage back on her instead of efficiency and do fine against everything that isn't the infested, the drain is simply too high for them. A few bugs to note (on ps5 dunno about other platforms): - using condemn makes her movement weird, extra floaty/heavy turning kinda weird. - she can get magnetised to the ground (or ceiling if on low gravity), a wiggle up and down will fix it - lifted enemies sometimes become invulnerable, exiting her 4 will fix it - swapping to operator will sometimes cause you to warp back to the previous tile.
The operator bug isn't a hildryn thing. Lots of people are experiencing operator transference being janky. I did a circuit run where every time i went to operator for any reason it put me at the spawn point for the tile/island
The footage of Hildryn in Kuvival felt like a stroll through the park from a maniacal villain just destroying everything in the park with some happy music in the background 😂
i was confused that he didnt use it as you really dont use your secondary at all in this build, i use it on every build because i havent build any secondary to sp yet
As an alternate option, you can consider dropping Augur Reach for Blazing Pillage to prevent the need for a helminth - Blazing Pillage allows hildryn to get shields from infested and other armorless/shieldless units.
My girl is FINALLY working as intended. She was still my favorite frame without these changes but in high level stuff it really was just all about pillage. Now I can finally rain hellfire from above throughout an entire mission without problem. IM FREEEEEE

Didn't he explicitly say that caliban is a much better design, his numbers just need a little help? Bad as in this frame doesn't do what it's trying to do (old caliban) is WAY different from bad as it needs numbers tunings (new caliban). The AI of the ranged units is worthless, the 1 doesn't do any damage (very good sustain tool though), the two also doesn't do any damage (great cc though) and the 4 is pretty whatever in terms of damage. It doesn't mean that these things don't work in tandem, just that it should be stronger to keep up with modern warframe.
@@raphaelmark1489 I don't think anyone should expect the 4 to actually be good at clearing in high level SP or circuit. They usually don't try to make the damage of big simple nuke beams scale. The point at higher levels is just the armor strip and the tau effect. I think in general, the tau is supposed to be the main attraction at higher levels - he's supposed to be a weapons platform warframe for status weapons.

If he's also lagging behind as a debuffer weapons platform then that just goes more to brozime's point of "his numbers need to be better" which isn't the worst thing to say!
Don't feel bad. Hildryn is one of those frames where her Helminth options are rather limited and her kit has so many caveats (aka: enemy must have x for y to happen, y must be in effect for x to occur, etc) that it's very easy to overlook shit for her. I personally use Elemental Ward set to Electric to give her a small yet noticable boost in shields, but more importantly a scaling electric stun. My friend uses Eclipse for added Damage Reduction cause Hildryn's low HP keeps him in perpetual fear so he's all about reducing incoming damage. (This culminated into me to making a meme Parasitic Armor build for her just to traumatize him. 😂 ) I never once considered Eclipse on her. I think someone else we know runs some things super abstract like Molt for self healing/to buy time when shields delete or something. That all being said, I used to run Condemn on her to account for the enemies she struggles with but I grew to be petty and ended up wanting to punish them for hitting me. 😤
seismic bond (channeling ability + companion attack = 30% efficiency) works with this pretty well if can make room for it, basically instantly maxes buff with tazicor and is active while casting pillage so very easy to snapshot into aegis and then it never drops off as long as an enemy in range occasionally also can confirm putting adaption on jade/hildryn/aero-boreal-aviator builds is the most insane overkill, i got jade in curcit yesterday and the enemies couldn't even break my **overshields** until lv2000, and that is why im am putting eclipce on hildryn for this build hold r3 on controller doesn't seem to auto fire for me :( maybe we can get a hildryn invert alt/main fire option in tap/hold 👉👈
I had not considered Harrow's ability on her. I was using Nourish, but condem definitely has its uses for infested and murmur. Will have to remember to set that up.
Having to hold altfire is SO terrible... Im mean IF you even add an augment pretty Sure you Just want to use THAT gun then... NO reason to have the normal fire. Just let me fire with left click... Or add an accessability Option Like with Tap hold, for frames Like this where you can Swap normal and altfire for exalted weapons
The new Coil Recharge augment? It's basically a rotorswell you can put up in a place to zap enemies over and over before it collapses (manually or automatically) into the vortex. It synergizes well with her kit and allows for and even more camping gameplay (because her 1 already was stationary orbs)
I think the Okina Incarnon may be a better melee weapon stat stick then the Incarnon furax. It the fire rate the furax grants is nice, but not terribly notable. The Okina grants 30% Movement speed, which really helps hildryn's hover speed
2 mods from the boreal set gives 40% DR while airborne, which is the same as aviator, and last i heard, boreal and aviator don't stack. it hink it picks whichever is the highest, but that info might be out fo date. if so, then i'd take anguish instead of aviator since it has other bonuses for the same cost, plus you can go to 60% if you use the 3rd boreal mod, which is option, but not worthless.
Yeah I saw it. Against one target, after multiple seconds of sitting in place staring at a large group of enemies waiting for the summon to close distance and attack? Not exactly making a dent in anyone's mission performance.
@@kevoneprice1382 when I have 20 loadout slots devoted to warframes that would have killed all of them in less time, and multiple weapons that could also kill all of them without requiring armor stripping or buffs to do so? Yeah, "almost" killing a group of enemies after multiple seconds of staring at my minions is not going to make much of a dent in the meta, no matter how fun it is to see a single large number.

Ruvox with melee crescendo is a better option in melee slot for 50% movement speed with 12x combo. You can use vazarin second ability to do ground finishers and reach 12x within a minute into the mission. Dodging speed is not bad you lose shields for dodging which i personally hate
This is what did it. I will be playing Warframe again due to this build. I always loved Hildryn but I played when you couldn't do this with her........ here i come.
Been considering alternative helminth abilities for hildryn, current considerations are: - hideous resistance/firewalker - dark verse/thermal sunder? - wyrd scythes/nourish? Due to 4th ability cc, not needing any helminth cc abilities imo. Condemn is pretty much just a good pick for regaining shields vs infested, so i will at least have an alternative build with that on it. Consideration for dark verse/thermal sunder is simply an alternate way to deal damage instead of with balefire. wyrd scythes are a consideration to spread viral to enemies so balefire does bigger damage with replaced damage elements, though nourish would also fit this role, my hildryn build isnt running much duration so i dont really want to recast nourish buff often.
Oh yeah and the firewalker/hideous resistance would protect decently well from toxin/magnetic eximus procs. Thats pretty fun to have on and just ignore both those threats.
@@PHNpaladine To state the obvious, Eclipse works rather well for the additional DR if you feel too squishy and are losing your shield pool more due to incoming fire than from casting abilities. Also the damage buff on toggle can come in handy whenever (rarely ever I'd argue) needed. Not sure why you're worried about toxin damage though, usually you should be having overshields active most of the time anyway so that's not really a concern. Plus, Pillage should be more than enough to deal with toxin procs already, so status immunity on a subsume feels kinda redundant to me. And that's not to mention that this would only protect you from toxin -procs- anyway; raw toxin damage will still kill you regardless of staus immunity in case your overshields are down.
Since the new augment makes balefire have 15% of Hildryn's max shield as additional damage. Wouldn't it be better to have blue shards for shields? You get more damage and more protection and "energy" to use. (While also getting more damage). Or does the flat damage from the red chards outperform the blue ones?
Titania has a bug where you activate melee influence then go in and out of her 4th ability a few times, this lets you proc melee influence on gun shots. I wonder if we can get this on hildryn
Does Avaitor properly stack with Boreal? Last time I've tested it Boreal was ignored and only Avaitor effect was applied, but it was quite some time ago and maybe it got fixed.
I had to look up the "warrior" mod only to remember it's basically old "Assult Mode" and has not benefit I'm aware of outside of you can't get it anymore.
@@Menderino "warrior" doesn't drop anymore and has the exact same range as "assault mode". It is an obsolete mod that only exists in the inventories of people who had it before Update 24.0
i use the subsume ability that instantly regens ALL shields with archon stretch for energy drops i have an infinite shield and overshield build so far im able to living through 190 SP
its not 'practical' but its hillariously memey to sub Vial Rush from Lavos onto hildryn and do bombing runs, its not 'effective' but its funny and its a forward zoom move
I don't like her aesthetic but I'll build this just to have it handy when I get bad RNG and she's the only decent choice I get on circuit/deep archimedea. I'm thinking I'll run Eclipse as the helminth since the Eclipse DR affects shields and then I can just pop it over to light mode if I don't need the DR for a little extra DPS.
@@Red-S-267 How so? Aviator grants 40% DR which, combined with that of Boreal's Hatred's 20%, gives a final 52% DR. Two Boreal mods alone (assuming you swap out Aviator against either one) only give 40% DR. And even if you slot a polearm with Boreal's contempt for the max 60% set bonus (and, thus, forgo the option of running Furax for the additional fire rate), 2 Boreal mods plus Aviator will still give you higher combined DR than the full Boreal set w/o Aviator (64% vs 60%).

Oddly enough, I threw on Koumei's Omamori on her 3. While it's not exactly dependable, it takes care of little health issues, does not care about duration, and randomly restores shields from time to time.
@@KodexKat True, but it's a set and forget that occasionally gives me a random 2k shield boost, lol. There are definitely better options, but I've tried most of them at this point... I really dunno why I test so many builds on her when she's never one of my picks for any mission.
@@KodexKat Agreed lol. Base kit would help actually support the team. I just like testing new stuff. I subsumed it for a variation that used arcane avenger + combat discipline. Which worked... in solo gameplay, but once again, anything that relies on enemies hitting you is not the most reliable. Plus the amount of damage was pretty unnecessary and there are other methods to heal.

Yeah. This is the second video I’ve watched from this guy and both have started with “____ is weak, needs more damage”. Like not every single Warframe needs to be a nuke frame. Learn how to build around what makes them unique. A frame doesn’t have to be able to hit damage cap to be viable
Why are you so anal about Caliban having low damage? He isnt a damage frame, he can strip all defenses and hard cc in an extremely large radius with minimal investment, has very solid energy upkeep through his 1, is incredibly powerful for inflicting status and is very hard to kill through his shield-gating.
He's had a hard-on forvshitting on Caliban since day 1 despite Caliban being Steel Path easy-mode for people with mid-tier weapon mods. He also shat all over Khora when she released despite her having sick CC and at the time the best abikity with statstick weapons.

Like, I know Hildryn's defenses are a bit 'old' now, since shields don't benefit from all the other kinds of damage reduction. But in the last 2 weeks I've taken Hildryn to SP Circuit 4 times. (Absolute garbage frame/weapon choices, so I'll take a frame with a built-in weapon...) All 4 times I was CONSTANTLY out of shields. And I mean in the very first round. I was using the regular Burning Pillage build, which I remember scaling super well. Start round. Cast 3. Cast 4(Roar Subsume). Jump toward enemies and cast 2 while aim-gliding. BAM shields go down. 3 turns off. Pillage wave returns and caps out my shields. Have to reactivate 3. Cast pillage again. BAM instantly out of shields again. 3 turns off. Every time. I don't know if it was because there was a Nova in the party having fun with the new shiny Speedva option. I don't know if there was an unannounced bug that caused enemies to break shields in 1 hit in specific conditions. But it felt AWFUL. I don't play Hildryn that often. I always do if there is an energy-reduction sortie. I sometimes do when helping people out with the Grendel missions. I'll take Hildryn to a restricted loadout mission like EDA or SP Circuit over MANY other frames. But I don't remember EVER feeling this vulnerable. It felt...wrong.

Amalgam barrel diffusion is amazing for her 4. You can speedrun around the map with it.

@@biowiener7825 I pretty much always use amalgam over galvanized at this point. The sacrifice in multishot is worth the movement speed for me.

Caliban feels insane to me. Put Nourish over his 1st ability and use it when you summon your ortholysts. Press 2 and they do like 900k a shot.

Ruvox with melee crescendo is a better option in melee slot for 50% movement speed with 12x combo. You can use vazarin second ability to do ground finishers and reach 12x within a minute into the mission. Dodging speed is not bad you lose shields for dodging which i personally hate

This is what did it. I will be playing Warframe again due to this build. I always loved Hildryn but I played when you couldn't do this with her........ here i come.
Been considering alternative helminth abilities for hildryn, current considerations are:
- hideous resistance/firewalker
- dark verse/thermal sunder?
- wyrd scythes/nourish?
Due to 4th ability cc, not needing any helminth cc abilities imo. Condemn is pretty much just a good pick for regaining shields vs infested, so i will at least have an alternative build with that on it. Consideration for dark verse/thermal sunder is simply an alternate way to deal damage instead of with balefire. wyrd scythes are a consideration to spread viral to enemies so balefire does bigger damage with replaced damage elements, though nourish would also fit this role, my hildryn build isnt running much duration so i dont really want to recast nourish buff often.
Oh yeah and the firewalker/hideous resistance would protect decently well from toxin/magnetic eximus procs. Thats pretty fun to have on and just ignore both those threats.
@@PHNpaladine To state the obvious, Eclipse works rather well for the additional DR if you feel too squishy and are losing your shield pool more due to incoming fire than from casting abilities. Also the damage buff on toggle can come in handy whenever (rarely ever I'd argue) needed.
Not sure why you're worried about toxin damage though, usually you should be having overshields active most of the time anyway so that's not really a concern. Plus, Pillage should be more than enough to deal with toxin procs already, so status immunity on a subsume feels kinda redundant to me. And that's not to mention that this would only protect you from toxin -procs- anyway; raw toxin damage will still kill you regardless of staus immunity in case your overshields are down.

Since the new augment makes balefire have 15% of Hildryn's max shield as additional damage.
Wouldn't it be better to have blue shards for shields? You get more damage and more protection and "energy" to use. (While also getting more damage).
Or does the flat damage from the red chards outperform the blue ones?
Red shards also improve her defense strip, but if you do blue shards you might be able to do blind rage to make up the strength.

Titania has a bug where you activate melee influence then go in and out of her 4th ability a few times, this lets you proc melee influence on gun shots. I wonder if we can get this on hildryn
Does Avaitor properly stack with Boreal? Last time I've tested it Boreal was ignored and only Avaitor effect was applied, but it was quite some time ago and maybe it got fixed.

Caliban is much better than he was, but some of the changes made people expect a nuke, but he doesn't nuke higher levels.

I had to look up the "warrior" mod only to remember it's basically old "Assult Mode" and has not benefit I'm aware of outside of you can't get it anymore.
Each sentinel has their own "assault mode" with different ranges. Like diriga with vulklok has the highest one iirc

I'm thinking I'll run Eclipse as the helminth since the Eclipse DR affects shields and then I can just pop it over to light mode if I don't need the DR for a little extra DPS.
This really shouldn't be an augment, it should be built into her default exalted weapon.

Two Boreal mods alone (assuming you swap out Aviator against either one) only give 40% DR. And even if you slot a polearm with Boreal's contempt for the max 60% set bonus (and, thus, forgo the option of running Furax for the additional fire rate), 2 Boreal mods plus Aviator will still give you higher combined DR than the full Boreal set w/o Aviator (64% vs 60%).

Oddly enough, I threw on Koumei's Omamori on her 3. While it's not exactly dependable, it takes care of little health issues, does not care about duration, and randomly restores shields from time to time.

@@KodexKat Agreed lol. Base kit would help actually support the team. I just like testing new stuff. I subsumed it for a variation that used arcane avenger + combat discipline. Which worked... in solo gameplay, but once again, anything that relies on enemies hitting you is not the most reliable. Plus the amount of damage was pretty unnecessary and there are other methods to heal.

Why are you so anal about Caliban having low damage? He isnt a damage frame, he can strip all defenses and hard cc in an extremely large radius with minimal investment, has very solid energy upkeep through his 1, is incredibly powerful for inflicting status and is very hard to kill through his shield-gating.
i genuinely wish they'd remove shieldgating so people like you would shut up.
He's had a hard-on forvshitting on Caliban since day 1 despite Caliban being Steel Path easy-mode for people with mid-tier weapon mods. He also shat all over Khora when she released despite her having sick CC and at the time the best abikity with statstick weapons.

Like, I know Hildryn's defenses are a bit 'old' now, since shields don't benefit from all the other kinds of damage reduction.
But in the last 2 weeks I've taken Hildryn to SP Circuit 4 times. (Absolute garbage frame/weapon choices, so I'll take a frame with a built-in weapon...)
All 4 times I was CONSTANTLY out of shields.
And I mean in the very first round.
I was using the regular Burning Pillage build, which I remember scaling super well.
Start round. Cast 3. Cast 4(Roar Subsume). Jump toward enemies and cast 2 while aim-gliding.
BAM shields go down. 3 turns off.
Pillage wave returns and caps out my shields. Have to reactivate 3.
Cast pillage again.
BAM instantly out of shields again. 3 turns off.
Every time.
I don't know if it was because there was a Nova in the party having fun with the new shiny Speedva option.
I don't know if there was an unannounced bug that caused enemies to break shields in 1 hit in specific conditions.
But it felt AWFUL.
I don't play Hildryn that often.
I always do if there is an energy-reduction sortie.
I sometimes do when helping people out with the Grendel missions.
I'll take Hildryn to a restricted loadout mission like EDA or SP Circuit over MANY other frames.
But I don't remember EVER feeling this vulnerable.
It felt...wrong.
