1975's music is the kind of music that makes me feel a sort of an otherworldly melancholic joy, the kind that twists my chest but simultaneously makes me feel like no matter what happens in life, everything's going to be okay and there's nothing to be afraid of. @Yoongles Lajibolala this is 1975 fans in a nutshell, I watched some of this set 5 months ago to see what all the hype is about and see comments calling the most iconic in a decade which objectively ridiculous, when the reality is they’re average at best and are over reliant on a light show. Anyone else watch this concert over and over again?o just me lol I've recently been put on to The 1975 and I cannot get enough of them. I've watched this concert 4 times in the last 4 days. I would give anything to see them in person 😭
They are releasing a new song tomorrow and an album to follow. Touring starts August!! Saw them twice live and they are phenomenal!! Always come back to this video when I am thirstin for their live stuff
@@daneaucker247 I swear you aren't a true fan if you don't think that the live recording from this show is the best album they have...theres just something about their sound live, it's so beautiful and raw💜
i just want to find someone that will lisen to this whole thing with me on saturday afternoon with red wine and blankets ~edit~ everyone who’s down lets have a zoom listening session
I had him but things aren't always pretty and we both fuck up in this relationship so I'm alone in this because none of my friends like the 1975 at all
Because you can hear the emotion behind the song, not over produced vocals and no human touch to it. The instruments being played live like the guitar and drums without the musical layering done at studios to give them different effects and produce a different sound. This is the human element we all connect to in music
@DW DW every single song has its own feelings and emotions and vibes and s/ so of course i dont cry for every song you know. but then again i just love them so much 😭
Gabby DeLorean omg thank you, haha. I've been wanting to see them for several years now but somehow am never able to get off of work or something comes up. This video means so much to me because I almost feel as though I'm there soaking it all in. Ugh, lol. ♡
This is one of the best live concert films I've seen of this decade. Right up there with Green Day's Bullet In A Bible from 2005. Perfectly encapsulates the band during the time period, and hits every visual and audio note you could want to make you feel as close to a part of the show as possible.
I like the 1975 a lot but you cant say "hits every audio note" without acknowledging they're using some serious backing tracks. I realize a ton if not most bands do that these days, but some bands do hit every note and are actually playing every instrument live, so let's not shortsell those bands
This is absolutely stunning. The sound engineering, the lighting, the production, the cinematography, the editing, the aesthetic, the performance and the setlist. Perfection.

Matty's semi-drunk performance of "A Change of Heart" with a glass of wine in his hand is one of the best things I've seen lately. This was a great concert, definitely one of their best live performances. I think from this video I fell in love with this band and possibly with Matty Healy.
Really? That's strange, because I'm literally the only person I know (and I know a lot of people) that has even heard of them. And I only ever saw them on Jimmy Fallon, and really nowhere else since.
This band has some of the tightest instrumentation of any band out today. Between the songwriting, the incredible drumming, bass, keys, and guitars, it’s pretty hard to beat these guys.
@@robinjohnson6301 I saw Green Day (Argentina 2017) and The 1975 a couple weeks ago in Paraguay. I can tell you they are equally tight. Everyone thinks The 1975 is tighter bc their music is more complex but they are equaly tight. One is more faster and agressive and the other is more sofisticasted and complex.
Is no one talking about how during the ending of iliwysfyasbysuoi the three boys looked amazing all bopping their heads in unison completely absorbed in the song?
any time i'm sad, i just watch this whole video and it totally changes my mood to complete happiness and bliss. I'm so glad i have this band in my life, idk who I'd be without them honestly.
Alright but during Heart Out at 8:58 the way Matty smiles after the crowd sings the chorus for him and then says “Oh my god London” has to be the most INSANE feeling as a musician. I can’t imagine the euphoria he’s feeling ‼️😅
They are genuinely the most impressionable act that I have seen in the past ten years. If ever there was a voice for my generation, Matty knows how to say it. They are only getting better and someday we'll all say that we were lucky enough to be here for their genius.
I remember their concert in the Philippines and I swear to God that day was THE best day of my life. It's 2022 and I can still feel the energy and joy that I felt during that night. It was life-changing and watching this video takes me back to that day!
Absolutely! Mike Posner and The Chainsmokers are both nominated and it makes me think the Grammy's have lost their reputation and sanity. I mean come on!!
twentyone They already are a mainstream band, you don't get much bigger than headlining the 02. Also please justiy the term selling out? what a ridiculous statement that is...
twentyone you're one of those "fans" that get angry when a band becomes a big success? If you don't like them now and how they've improved, musically and as people please leave Yh cool
They should be rewarded for their success! Just because they've become popular, doesn't mean they've sold out. If you want an example of a band that sold out, look at Maroon 5. The 1975 is producing highly aesthetic and deep music. Good for them!
That instrumental section just before Somebody Else.....around 1:00:50 That is so SO beautiful. So interesting and dreamy. I want an entire song, if not album, comprised of that sound....that feeling. The deep bass swells, the shimmering harmony, the strange synth loops, the pitched vocal samples. Just gorgeous....
They are so incredible; such musical masterminds. They honestly just keep getting better. This is what comes from starting a band as literal children; they have always been 4 best friends uncorrupted by ego, life, girls.. they’re the real deal. They found their sound and ran with it. It’s fucking great! I just seen them on Halloween; best show I’ve ever seen live; and Im still watching these old ass videos lolol
I haven't paid much attention to The 1975 until my best friend bought me ticket to see The 1975 live for my birthday with no negotiation, and I owe him a ton for introducing me to this band for the first time in a concert! Since then, I have been listening to The 1975 for years. There's no other best feeling than being in love and being at The 1975 show.
This is without a doubt their best live performance ever. Matt's singing is usually a bit off but here he is almost always on point. And they have all the layers of sound needed for each songs, it's great.
It is how the performance is recorded. They have each instrument mic'd. They then run it into a mixer and someone is there essentially professionally mixing and dubbing what you hear. So depending on whether you hear them here, in a garage, an area, etc. it will sound different. Good band.

Little B done

I had him but things aren't always pretty and we both fuck up in this relationship so I'm alone in this because none of my friends like the 1975 at all
Are the blankets white? Seems like a recipe for disaster, dear
Little B man this is me right now
Damn the live versions of these songs sound so much better than the studio versions to me.
The life version of Lostmyhead is by far the best thing I've ever heard, and I had no idea from just the studio version!!!
Because you can hear the emotion behind the song, not over produced vocals and no human touch to it. The instruments being played live like the guitar and drums without the musical layering done at studios to give them different effects and produce a different sound. This is the human element we all connect to in music
They sound sooooo good live 😭
Could'nt agree moree
Indeed
Come back to this quite often. Miss these days

THE PROPOSAL WAS SO CLOSE TO ME OMFG I CRY EVERY TIME I SEE IT
Quick question.... When it Said rossdidnot, What did he do? Did he speak to fans or something?
This is one of the best live concert films I've seen of this decade. Right up there with Green Day's Bullet In A Bible from 2005. Perfectly encapsulates the band during the time period, and hits every visual and audio note you could want to make you feel as close to a part of the show as possible.
2005 and 2016 not in the same decade though
Green day? I'll take oasis wembley 2000. Green day fuckin lost the plot mate.
I like the 1975 a lot but you cant say "hits every audio note" without acknowledging they're using some serious backing tracks. I realize a ton if not most bands do that these days, but some bands do hit every note and are actually playing every instrument live, so let's not shortsell those bands
@@cpresto2 do you know which bands don’t use backing tracks? i love hearing music completely live
@@marck1728 Check out Thundercat and his group. Not exactly the same genre but I think he's one of the best live performers right now
This is absolutely stunning.

Having seen them when he's more sober...I have to say it's better when he's less drunk. I love this band but he's just not all there when he's drunk.
@@sovupo this intrigued me but i agree!! Except the lights during this show is just magnificent so i stick to watching this instead!

You are so lucky!!!
I'm the only person I know that likes this band but yet they sell out the o2. great show
Do you live in the US? The ONLY way I found out about them is by accident here on TH-cam. They sadly aren't well known here in the US. :-(
FireCracker3240 what??? they're very well known in the u.s...
Really? That's strange, because I'm literally the only person I know (and I know a lot of people) that has even heard of them. And I only ever saw them on Jimmy Fallon, and really nowhere else since.
FireCracker3240 they tour here a lot... saw them in june. a lot of ppl know about them.
Unintoxicate Umm, ok.
ive never felt more numb than rn listening to this outside w my headphones on full volume
This band has some of the tightest instrumentation of any band out today. Between the songwriting, the incredible drumming, bass, keys, and guitars, it’s pretty hard to beat these guys.
Nick so true, the only other band I know who has instrumentation this good is green day tbh
The 1975 are wayyyyy tighter than Green Day instrumentally. Not even close in my opinion.
Their songs are just continuous!
Dope bruh dope just loved your comment 🌈
This is one of the best live concerts I’ve ever seen. This is a gem, truly. I hope it’s archived some where so it’s not lost.

there's only one thing i have to say, the 1975 is fucking beautiful.
Such a unique sound and brilliant song writing. I am 65 and feel so much younger when I enjoy them.
This band is otherworldly talented.
Alright but during Heart Out at 8:58 the way Matty smiles after the crowd sings the chorus for him and then says “Oh my god London” has to be the most INSANE feeling as a musician. I can’t imagine the euphoria he’s feeling ‼️😅
I love that part so much 😭😭
well, that... and the drugs is the reason for the euphoria. He wasnt clean yet during this unfortunately
@@ImAdamRyan Sadly that's true, I'm sure a good part of it was what I mentioned though.

They are genuinely the most impressionable act that I have seen in the past ten years. If ever there was a voice for my generation, Matty knows how to say it. They are only getting better and someday we'll all say that we were lucky enough to be here for their genius.
vevo please don't delete this I WILL PROTECT IT WITH MY LIFE
I remember their concert in the Philippines and I swear to God that day was THE best day of my life. It's 2022 and I can still feel the energy and joy that I felt during that night. It was life-changing and watching this video takes me back to that day!
Nakakakilig kahit walang jowa e.
I think lostmyhead brings me to another plane of existence
Wow. I can’t believe how good this is. It’s perfect. The music, the stage, the lights, the atmosphere - it’s just beautiful.
The should be up for a Grammy for their album.
Absolutely! Mike Posner and The Chainsmokers are both nominated and it makes me think the Grammy's have lost their reputation and sanity. I mean come on!!
Maggie MacKinnon They should have had the grammy since the first freakin album...
twentyone They already are a mainstream band, you don't get much bigger than headlining the 02.
Still one of the greatest shows!
"....and I need some more wine" - I love this man!
Somebody Else made me so emotional
Watching this in November 2020 and hearing Matty say "It's been a mental year, hasn't it?" about 2016.

I want an entire song, if not album, comprised of that sound....that feeling.
The deep bass swells, the shimmering harmony, the strange synth loops, the pitched vocal samples. Just gorgeous....
yessssssss
They are so incredible; such musical masterminds. They honestly just keep getting better. This is what comes from starting a band as literal children; they have always been 4 best friends uncorrupted by ego, life, girls.. they’re the real deal. They found their sound and ran with it. Best moments 00:00:01 to 1:55:22

This is without a doubt their best live performance ever.
Matt's singing is usually a bit off but here he is almost always on point.
And they have all the layers of sound needed for each songs, it's great.
Joulin Nicolas must be the wine! 😂
#autotune
It is how the performance is recorded. They have each instrument mic'd. They then run it into a mixer and someone is there essentially professionally mixing and dubbing what you hear. So depending on whether you hear them here, in a garage, an area, etc. it will sound different. Good band.
I dunno, sounds like he's very pissed at this gig...
@@Liofa73 he was. And it's not that great. You can see during lostmyhead that they're not even mixing his guitar into it. It's just Adam.

Lyrics Part 1
-Love me-
And hey, would you
Like to look outside sometimes? (No)
I'm just with my friends online
And there's things we'd like to change
Next thing you'll find you're reading 'bout yourself
On a plane, fame, what a shame
Oh, well, just keep looking, looking, looking, looking
And love me (yeah)
If that's what you wanna do (oh, yeah)
And love me (yeah)
If that's what you wanna do (oh, yeah)
You've been reading 'bout yourself
On a plane, fame for a change
Caught up in fashion
Karcrashian panache and a bag of bash for passion
You've got a beautiful face but got nothing to say (oh)
You look famous, let's be friends and portray we possess something important
And do the things we like, meaning
We've just come to represent
A decline in the standards are what we accept
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, no
And love me (yeah, oh)
If that's what you wanna do (oh, yeah)
And love me (love me, yeah)
If that's what you wanna do (oh, yeah)
Oh, so sack off your calendar, give it to the people
Be the man that gets 'em up on their feet
Say "oh, oh, oh, oh, oh"
Love me (yeah, oh)
And love me (yeah)
If that's what you wanna do (oh)
-UGH!-
Hey boy, stop pacing 'round the room
Using other people's faces as a mirror for you
I know your lungs need filling
Since your gums have lost their feeling
But don't say you're giving it up again
And do you have a card?
My irregular heart beat is starting to compact itself
He's just a simple diabetic that prevents the empathetic
From being just and giving it up
And you're the only thing that's going on in my mind
Taking over my life a second time
I don't have the capacity for fucking
You're meant to be helping me
When I said I liked it better without my money, I lied
It took a little while to recognize that I
I'm not giving it up again
This conversation's not about reciprocation no more
But I'm gon' wait until you finish so I can talk some more
About me and my things, my car, my living
And how I'm giving it up, giving it up again
And you're the only thing that's going on in my mind
Taking over my life a second time
I don't have the capacity for fucking
You're meant to be helping me
When I said I liked it better without my money, I lied
It took a little while to recognize
That I, I'm not giving it up again
Oh, the kick won't last for long
But the song only lasts three minutes
I think I've lost my phone so won't you call it up for me?
The kick won't last for long
But the song only lasts three minutes
And I know it's wrong
But give me one
And you're the only thing that's going on in my mind
Taking over my life a second time
I don't have the capacity for fucking
You're meant to be helping me
When I said I liked it better without my money, I lied
It took a little while to recognize
That I, I'm not giving it up again
I'm not giving it up
I'm not giving it up
I'm not giving it up
I'm not giving it up
I'm not giving it up, giving it up
I'm not giving it up, giving it up
-Heart Out-
I’m rushing in a small town
I forgot to call you
Running low on know how
This beats made for two
'Cause I remember that I like you
No matter what I found
She said it’s nice to have your friends round
We're watching a television with no sound
It’s just you and I tonight
Why don’t you figure my heart out
It’s just you and I tonight
Why don’t you figure my heart out
Push your lack of chest out look at my hair
Gotta love the way you love yourself
Your obsession with Rocks and Brown
And fucking the whole towns
A reflection on your mental health
'Cause I remembered when I found you
Much younger than you are now
Once it started I am friend zone
You created a television in your mouth
It’s just you and I tonight
Why don’t you figure my heart out
It’s just you and I tonight
Why don’t you figure my heart out
You've got something to say
Why don’t speak it out loud
Instead of living in your head
It's always to say why don’t you take your heart out
Instead of living in your head
It’s just you and I tonight
Why don’t you figure my heart out
It’s just you and I tonight
Why don’t you figure my heart out
-A change of heart-
Are we awake?
Am I too old to be this stoned?
Was it your breasts from the start?
They played a part
For goodness sake
I wasn't told you'd be this cold
Now it's my time to depart and I just had a change of heart
I'll quote on the road like a twat and wind my way out of the city
Finding a girl who is equally pretty won't be hard
Oh, I just had a change of heart
You smashed a glass into pieces
That's around the time I left
When you were coming across as clever
Then you lit the wrong end of a cigarette
You said I'm full of diseases
Your eyes were full of regret
And then you took a picture of your salad
And put it on the Internet
And she said, I've been so worried about you lately
You look shit and smell a bit
You're mad thinking you could ever save me
Not looking like that
You used to have a face straight out of a magazine
Now you just look like anyone
I just had a change of heart
I feel as though I was deceived
I never found love in the city
I just sat in self-pity and cried in the car
Oh, I just had a change of heart
Then she said, I've been so worried 'bout you lately
You were fit but you're losing it
You played a part, this is how it starts
Oh I just had a change of heart
Bom bom bom, bom bom bom
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
I just had a change of heart
-Robbers-
She had a face straight outta magazine
God only knows but you'll never leave her
Her balaclava is starting to chafe
When she gets his gun he's begging, babe stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
I'll give him one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Said one more lie
Will I know you
Now if you never shoot, you'll never know
And if you never eat, you'll never grow
You've got a pretty kinda dirty face
When she's leaving your home she's begging you, stay, stay, stay, stay, stay
I'll give you one more time
We'll give you one more fight
Just said one more line
There'll be a riot, 'cause I know you
Well, now that you've got your gun
It's much harder now the police have come
Now shoot him if it's what you're worth
But if you just take off your mask
To find out that everything's gone wrong, wrong, wrong
Now everybody's dead
And they're driving past my old school
And he's got his gun, he's got his suit on
She says, babe, you look so cold, you look so cold, you look so cold
You look so cold, you look so cold, you look so cold
-I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it-
Before you go, turn the big light off
Before you go, (please don't go) turn the big light off
Before you go, (please don't go) turn the big light off
Before you go, (please don't go) turn the big light off

He's just been barred for that blues he was smoking
And then he barks "it's my car I'm sleeping in"
Tabs with unlimited zero's new clothes, bloody nose
Powders and walking back home
Has he got enough weed, no
Broken phone retching on the floor alone
I can't believe that we're talking about him

She says the bleeding's incidental 'cause she's so cool
She said, "I'm no fun if you've only a bottle of wine"
And now she's doing it all the time
Yeah, she's doing it all the time
Slow down, yeah I want you
She does a little bit on the sly that shows what she's up to
She started talking about missing him, she was glistening

When they didn't come to your city so this is the best way to see them live
Alaskasghost really? where do you live??
Alaskasghost SAME!!! I couldn't afford $140 but I wanted to sooo bad
Zack Conners when they came to the venue five minutes away from your house but your mom wouldn't let you go 🙃
They weren't bad when I got them. Only like £40. For this I would pay double if not more.
I paid 40$ dlls to see them in San Diego, it was a good seat. To be in front of them cost 50 dlls
the whole part of the audience singing Robbers at 21:41 is magical, especially 21:55
