when I was 14-15 I used to watch this every night pretending I was at their concert and I would close all the curtains, turn off all the lights, put this on my tv, and dance in front of the screen for the entirety of the video until I was sweaty and out of breath. 5 years later I'm still obsessed w the 1975
Because you can hear the emotion behind the song, not over produced vocals and no human touch to it. The instruments being played live like the guitar and drums without the musical layering done at studios to give them different effects and produce a different sound. This is the human element we all connect to in music
Gabby DeLorean omg thank you, haha. I've been wanting to see them for several years now but somehow am never able to get off of work or something comes up. This video means so much to me because I almost feel as though I'm there soaking it all in. Ugh, lol. ♡
1975's music is the kind of music that makes me feel a sort of an otherworldly melancholic joy, the kind that twists my chest but simultaneously makes me feel like no matter what happens in life, everything's going to be okay and there's nothing to be afraid of. It's so soft and soothing and saddening in the most beautiful way. I just...ugh, I can't even explain what it makes me feel and how much I love them and their songs.
This band has some of the tightest instrumentation of any band out today. Between the songwriting, the incredible drumming, bass, keys, and guitars, it’s pretty hard to beat these guys.
@@robinjohnson6301 I saw Green Day (Argentina 2017) and The 1975 a couple weeks ago in Paraguay. I can tell you they are equally tight. Matty's semi-drunk performance of "A Change of Heart" with a glass of wine in his hand is one of the best things I've seen lately. This was a great concert, definitely one of their best live performances. I think from this video I fell in love with this band and possibly with Matty Healy.

They should be rewarded for their success! Just because they've become popular, doesn't mean they've sold out. If you want an example of a band that sold out, look at Maroon 5. The 1975 is producing highly aesthetic and deep music. Good for them!
Get a DVD Recorder with HDMI Input and Smart Phone/HDMI adapter (On Sale TODAY) and play it through DVD Recorder and press "Record" Alternately, if you have "Smart TV" like Vizeo with HDMI Output, watch/play it through that with signal going to DVD Recorder. Press Record There are other ways, but that most technology current
I just wanna say: I've been a die hard 1975 fan for about 7 years and a lot of "fans" want to spread hate to newcomers but I, for one, welcome all you new fans. This band is the wave and you deserve to ride the wave. Welcome!
I will never understand the "hating" no matter what the reason. I'm a bit more numerically mature than a lot of you but I experience the same thing with my favorite band, Genesis (Peter Gabriel/Steve Hackett era vs the later/pop era). Fans should ALWAYS be welcome...no matter when they come to the party. I love it all......not your thing?...excellent...move right on by and enjoy whatever that is.
Cheryl Enderson milk is my favorite song and i think it was ross who said they would never play it and like 2 dates after the show i went to they started playing it like boi wtf
This is without a doubt their best live performance ever. Matt's singing is usually a bit off but here he is almost always on point. And they have all the layers of sound needed for each songs, it's great.
It is how the performance is recorded. They have each instrument mic'd. They then run it into a mixer and someone is there essentially professionally mixing and dubbing what you hear. So depending on whether you hear them here, in a garage, an area, etc. it will sound different. Good band.
This is one of the best live concert films I've seen of this decade. Right up there with Green Day's Bullet In A Bible from 2005. Perfectly encapsulates the band during the time period, and hits every visual and audio note you could want to make you feel as close to a part of the show as possible.
I like the 1975 a lot but you cant say "hits every audio note" without acknowledging they're using some serious backing tracks. I realize a ton if not most bands do that these days, but some bands do hit every note and are actually playing every instrument live, so let's not shortsell those bands
Really? That's strange, because I'm literally the only person I know (and I know a lot of people) that has even heard of them. And I only ever saw them on Jimmy Fallon, and really nowhere else since.

Why do I do this. Why do I love listening to music that makes me emotionally unstable. Excited, anxious, happy, sad, crying, bawling, romantic, lovely, melancholy, depressed, etc, etc, etc, and repeat, repeat, repeat * infinity.
I remember their concert in the Philippines and I swear to God that day was THE best day of my life. It's 2022 and I can still feel the energy and joy that I felt during that night. It was life-changing and watching this video takes me back to that day!
i remember seeing them for the first time at saint augustine randomly with my best friend in 2016. then waiting in line for 3 days and 4 nights in 2017 in st. paul sleeping in streets and cars with someone i met online. i was 2nd in line. i was barricade. i met some of the best people there. i cried the entire concert. it’s all such a blur because of how tired i was. but i remember the feeling. the feeling of seeing them front row. the feeling of hearing them live and seeing them perform. i remember thinking to myself... my phone can’t capture these moments. i must stay present. and i did. i have never felt like that before. ever. falling in love. losing a loved one. big major life moments. nothing ever felt like that moment. it felt like a dream. it felt so surreal. i will never take back those moments. i will never feel like that again. but i cherish them. i cherish the moments that this band made me feel alive. present. in the moment. i love this band with my whole heart.
Alright but during Heart Out at 8:58 the way Matty smiles after the crowd sings the chorus for him and then says “Oh my god London” has to be the most INSANE feeling as a musician. I can’t imagine the euphoria he’s feeling ‼️😅

The 1975's songs just give you a feeling of being in love, being in happiness, being crazy, being in a dream bubble...sometimes all at the same time, I'd say they are exactly the songs from which you learn the feeling of post-modern-ity.
Anyone else like to just go into their basement with a couple beers, turn out the lights, stream this on the TV, turn the volume all the way up and pretend your at the concert for real?
I haven't paid much attention to The 1975 until my best friend bought me ticket to see The 1975 live for my birthday with no negotiation, and I owe him a ton for introducing me to this band for the first time in a concert! Since then, I have been listening to The 1975 for years. There's no other best feeling than being in love and being at The 1975 show.

He plays so damn loose. I wish I could. He's such a beast
it’s been six years and i still keep coming back to this video
My new hobby is watching this video while reading the heartwarming comments from fans

Sell this on blu-ray. So I can show my kids my favorite band.
cuz like I don't know how to download this
DifferentWhenYouSay I hope they do too!!
DifferentWhenYouSay use an app called pro recorder and and copy paste the link then you can download it
DifferentWhenYouSay download the app "pro recorder" and copy paste this video's link then you could download it! x
Get a DVD Recorder with HDMI Input and Smart Phone/HDMI adapter (On Sale TODAY) and play it through DVD Recorder and press "Record"
Alternately, if you have "Smart TV" like Vizeo with HDMI Output, watch/play it through that with signal going to DVD Recorder. Press Record
There are other ways, but that most technology current
I just wanna say: I've been a die hard 1975 fan for about 7 years and a lot of "fans" want to spread hate to newcomers but I, for one, welcome all you new fans. This band is the wave and you deserve to ride the wave. Welcome!
👉👈🥺
I will never understand the "hating" no matter what the reason. I'm a bit more numerically mature than a lot of you but I experience the same thing with my favorite band, Genesis (Peter Gabriel/Steve Hackett era vs the later/pop era). Fans should ALWAYS be welcome...no matter when they come to the party. I love it all......not your thing?...excellent...move right on by and enjoy whatever that is.
That's good, cas you can never have long term, loyal fans without first being a beginner yourself!!! :)
No offense meant!
All the longtime “fans” are just annoying gatekeepers I got into them by the song love me!
I saw this concert 4 times in different cities and each time it took my breath away. Whoever did the lights deserves all the awards.
You are so lucky!!!
IM GONNA WAIT TIL MIDNIGHT SO I CAN HAVE A NICE GLASS OF WINE AND WATCH THIS WHILE I CRY
Why wait until Midnight? Just do it now!!!!
undo, milk and medicine in one concert? damn these people are so lucky
Cheryl Enderson Undo was actually the first song I heard from them and I got all nostalgic when I heard it haha
Cheryl Enderson milk is my favorite song and i think it was ross who said they would never play it and like 2 dates after the show i went to they started playing it like boi wtf
Best night of my life
Cheryl Enderson was amazing
Ikr? I hope that in their concert in June they play at least two of these three
1:07:00 "Chris, help me. There's loads of people here."
Thank you I was searching for this part!
Such a unique sound and brilliant song writing. I am 65 and feel so much younger when I enjoy them.
oh to be proposed while The 1975 is playing fallingforyou. What. A. Dream.
Yeah but the guy is mental😆
@@The_Norty_Rider huh?
@@camilajauregui9745 Matty says it about the guy after he greets them. He says "Don't marry him he's mental."
@@The_Norty_Rider what was he doing to Matty? What was he pulling him for?
WHAT A CONCEPT.
This is without a doubt their best live performance ever.
Matt's singing is usually a bit off but here he is almost always on point.
And they have all the layers of sound needed for each songs, it's great.
Joulin Nicolas must be the wine! 😂
#autotune
It is how the performance is recorded. They have each instrument mic'd. They then run it into a mixer and someone is there essentially professionally mixing and dubbing what you hear. So depending on whether you hear them here, in a garage, an area, etc. it will sound different. Good band.
I dunno, sounds like he's very pissed at this gig...
@@Liofa73 he was. And it's not that great. You can see during lostmyhead that they're not even mixing his guitar into it. It's just Adam.
This is one of the best live concert films I've seen of this decade. Right up there with Green Day's Bullet In A Bible from 2005. Perfectly encapsulates the band during the time period, and hits every visual and audio note you could want to make you feel as close to a part of the show as possible.
2005 and 2016 not in the same decade though
Green day? I'll take oasis wembley 2000. Green day fuckin lost the plot mate.
I like the 1975 a lot but you cant say "hits every audio note" without acknowledging they're using some serious backing tracks. I realize a ton if not most bands do that these days, but some bands do hit every note and are actually playing every instrument live, so let's not shortsell those bands
@@cpresto2 do you know which bands don’t use backing tracks? i love hearing music completely live
@@marck1728 Check out Thundercat and his group. Not exactly the same genre but I think he's one of the best live performers right now
Come back to this quite often. Miss these days
I'm the only person I know that likes this band but yet they sell out the o2. great show
Do you live in the US? The ONLY way I found out about them is by accident here on TH-cam. They sadly aren't well known here in the US. :-(
FireCracker3240 what??? they're very well known in the u.s...
Really? That's strange, because I'm literally the only person I know (and I know a lot of people) that has even heard of them. And I only ever saw them on Jimmy Fallon, and really nowhere else since.
FireCracker3240 they tour here a lot... saw them in june. a lot of ppl know about them.
Unintoxicate Umm, ok.

I remember their concert in the Philippines and I swear to God that day was THE best day of my life. It's 2022 and I can still feel the energy and joy that I felt during that night. It was life-changing and watching this video takes me back to that day!
Nakakakilig kahit walang jowa e.
GOD DAMMIT IM ALREADY WATCHING THIS A FORTH TIME
Grace IsNotHere SAME
What Matty said is always true. The best picture is in our memories not in our phone.
@Daniel K he meant to use ur phone instead of watching it live.
Phineas said it first
@Daniel K Professionally recorded. Not some loser on a smartphone.
i remember seeing them for the first time at saint augustine randomly with my best friend in 2016. then waiting in line for 3 days and 4 nights in 2017 in st. paul sleeping in streets and cars with someone i met online. i was 2nd in line. i was barricade. i met some of the best people there. i cried the entire concert. it’s all such a blur because of how tired i was. but i remember the feeling. the feeling of seeing them front row. the feeling of hearing them live and seeing them perform. i remember thinking to myself... my phone can’t capture these moments. i must stay present. and i did. i have never felt like that before. ever. falling in love. losing a loved one. big major life moments. nothing ever felt like that moment. it felt like a dream. it felt so surreal. i will never take back those moments. i will never feel like that again. but i cherish them. i cherish the moments that this band made me feel alive. present. in the moment. i love this band with my whole heart.
Alright but during Heart Out at 8:58 the way Matty smiles after the crowd sings the chorus for him and then says “Oh my god London” has to be the most INSANE feeling as a musician. I can’t imagine the euphoria he’s feeling ‼️😅
I love that part so much 😭😭
well, that... and the drugs is the reason for the euphoria. He wasnt clean yet during this unfortunately
@@ImAdamRyan Sadly that's true, I'm sure a good part of it was what I mentioned though.
Haha I always start the video right at that part! always gives me such intense butterflies and excitement. Greatest band that ever lived
Undo is my favourite song of all time I'm crying it's so beautiful

That instrumental section just before Somebody Else.....around 1:00:50
That is so SO beautiful. So interesting and dreamy.
I want an entire song, if not album, comprised of that sound....that feeling.
The deep bass swells, the shimmering harmony, the strange synth loops, the pitched vocal samples. Just gorgeous....

oh man I'd give anything to see them live
My friend was literaly AT this performance ;~; *crying silently in the corner*
I feel you man , the 1975 sounds great live
The 1975's songs just give you a feeling of being in love, being in happiness, being crazy, being in a dream bubble...sometimes all at the same time, I'd say they are exactly the songs from which you learn the feeling of post-modern-ity.
Anyone else like to just go into their basement with a couple beers, turn out the lights, stream this on the TV, turn the volume all the way up and pretend your at the concert for real?
that would be perfect....if I had a basement....and a big TV...and beer
I wish I COULD do that almost everyday but people would fucking be bangin' on the door to turn it down 😂
Shit, I can't do this but I wish I could because that sounds amazing

THE PROPOSAL WAS SO CLOSE TO ME OMFG I CRY EVERY TIME I SEE IT
Quick question.... When it Said rossdidnot, What did he do? Did he speak to fans or something?
Ross is such an underrated bassist. His base lines in Heart Out are 👌🏻🔥
ive never felt more numb than rn listening to this outside w my headphones on full volume

Best comment on here
YES especially in this concert
I haven't paid much attention to The 1975 until my best friend bought me ticket to see The 1975 live for my birthday with no negotiation, and I owe him a ton for introducing me to this band for the first time in a concert! Since then, I have been listening to The 1975 for years. There's no other best feeling than being in love and being at The 1975 show.
I can't believe the 1975 invented Christmas
Eve Zuni best comment so far omfg

When they didn't come to your city so this is the best way to see them live
Alaskasghost really? where do you live??
Alaskasghost SAME!!! I couldn't afford $140 but I wanted to sooo bad
Zack Conners when they came to the venue five minutes away from your house but your mom wouldn't let you go 🙃
They weren't bad when I got them. Only like £40. For this I would pay double if not more.
I paid 40$ dlls to see them in San Diego, it was a good seat. To be in front of them cost 50 dlls
