The tone off these guitars is like honey. It's incredible
Beautiful analogy. Thank you!
I want to know how to get this tone on my Les Paul
I don't really know what you're on about to be honest. I found millers neck humbucker tone to be lacking. It doesn't have the warmth and lacks clarity because to immitate a low output semi hollow humbucking guitar he had to roll off the tone and his guitar is just not built for that. The other ibanez is not bad but the neck pickup isn't mellow enough. I find ibanez guitars are often lacking in clean tones.
Some snobs are screaming right now at the sound of jazz chords on Ibanez shredder guitars lol. I wish I could hear them scream.
Tom Quayle clean tone is better to me
There are people who sing with a guitar and then there are people who can make a guitar sing.
Very well said!
I sing ( for my own pleasure ) and I was just thinking what I would do with a range like that in terms of both octaves and power. Really tasty and tasteful playing from these two.
Tama ka jan. 🖒
and then theres people like me who dont even know how to sing with a guitar
love that
This is just an outrageous display of superior guitar playing. No other way to describe it! Love it
Brother you nailed it!
Factual evidentialism
Absolutely agree 100%!
From 0:37 onwards, it’s crazy how there is no clash between the players even though they are playing their own thing! Shows how skilled these two are
Seems like they agreed the first two runs of the progression was for Martin to go crazy, then they switched it up.
2:04 Harp Harmonics (ala Lenny Breau) - beautiful, very well placed
2:50 Hammer on shredding w/ right hand finger picking assist
3:13 I really like the pauses, space and dynamics here - it breaths
3:51 lightning lick
4:32 wonderful chord and breath, plus a no-whammy bar whammy vibrato
At 3:33 do you think the following is with hybridpicking?
@@ManuelhobiCh Absolutely not hybrid picking, jus cross picking arpeggios with pick, ocasional hamerons to aid the sound and rhythmic accents
Good observations!
4:14 !!
3:39 is my favorite lick
I think this is the 40th time I've watched this and I haven't even begun to get tired of it.
It's 1:00am...sitting on deck...warm October night; no breeze. Headphones on and a Spanish coffee in my hand. I look at the moon reflect on the undulating waters weaving around the rocks in the Washougal River 50 feet below and watch in awe while this brilliant classic is played by 2 master class guitarists making 6 string love to both of my auditory canals.....pure bliss. Great dynamics. Improv at its best. Thanks MM and TQ!
I bet I have watched this 50 times. It's so good. Such incredible playing and musicianship.
Gives me goosebumps EVERY time.. 2 masters of the craft… 👍👍🍻🍻
The musicianship between Tom and Martin. Absolutely two amazing guitarists that carry on legacy.
You guys should put an album together, half of it with a band the other just 2 solo guitars.
What we'ee putting out at the moment is basically exactly that, only that it's free to stream via TH-cam.
I remember hearing your version of "Actual Proof" on Guitar Hour, will that ever be released?
Which frankly, is insanely generous of you! The time and effort that has gone into this is crazy!
Martin Miller
But we wanna pay you for just the tracks
Just as amazing as Sylvain Luc and Bireli's rendition. Great job guys.
The harmonies are to die for. Totally beautiful and masterful. They definitely have control over what they are doing and playing. Two Jedis. I wish it never ends, but ....
1:54 - 2:06 elevated jazziness.. love it.
That intro is a good summary of everything that’s awesome about electric guitar.
I could loop it for hours and be happy.
the best part is 00:01 ... whenever it comes to an end, click here and it starts over again. sophisticated technology !!
how to make a classic out of a classic ?
Martin and Tom:
two of the most underrated guitarist in the world.Great job guys!
Playing for 40 years...just hacked my fingers off 😳
Beautiful!!!! 👍🏻
Beautiful
one single word: jazz!
Tom's mind on 2:51 -2:54 be like = "what should i have for lunch?"
HAHHAHAAH!
Stashed Up 😂😂😂😂😂😂
lol
He’s like I can’t believe it’s not butter
3:32 that line is so George Benson, love it.
This chord progression taught me a thing or two.
tastiest playing ive ever seen of this song
I wonder if Stevie has seen this yet
Mr. K!ll3n He’s blind
Austin Bannach I beg to differ!
Exhibit A: th-cam.com/video/qQeKrMsz4h4/w-d-xo.html
I rest my case.
Uhhh....
😄
I know what you did there... 😁
This is still one of the best Ibanez Guitars showcases ever. Tom, Martin, maestros.
Imagine listening this while drinking a cup of coffee and its raining
its like a coffee with a rainbow’s mood.
i had the same vibe listening to this video! this is such a good rendition of the song!
Is it really you miss gab?
miss only the coffee
Shhh
I just went back to bed.
Isn't she lovely
Isn't she wonderful
Isn't she precious
Less than one minute old
I never thought through love we'd be
Making one as lovely as she
But isn't she lovely, made from love
Isn't she pretty
Truly the angel's best
Boy, I'm so happy
We have been heaven blessed
I can't believe what God has done
Through us he's given life to one
But isn't she lovely, made from love
Isn't she lovely
Life and love are the same
Life is Aisha
The meaning of her name
Londie, it could have not been done
Without you who conceived the one
That's so very lovely, made from love
Still giving me goosebumps in 2024 with the crazy guitar playing of these two
Together, these two guitarists become an unattainable point of reference, they really blow my mind! I love them! Thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you for existing! I wish you a very long life and very much prosperity!
What an amazing duo!!!
At 5:15 his satisfaction face with a timid smile translates such a sincere feeling. Great to see when a musician is playing with passion!
Congratulations guys!!
I've watched this Miller fella for a while..., it is amazing how many styles that he can cover and do so impeccably. he is gifted.
They both played great. Martin Miller killed it. Everything he did was so melodic and in line with the piece. Great playing to both of them
I thought I've seen it all, and then this comes along. The very top of the (electric) guitar food chain.
those choices ... each a masterpiece of expression ... and then the overdrive section with a touch of break up distortion ... superb
Best Ibanez ad ever
listened with closed eyes,,, now its all blurry :) I was too broke to have a teacher so i am self taught. i can play so many things, fast shred stuff with good control i guess but this type of chord vocabulary is still missing in my playing,... its a pleasure to watch such a musical greatness.. and i love tom tooo :)
This arrangement is an absolute masterpiece.
That riff at 1:50 gave me goosebumps! Wow. Crazy harmonics!
underrated content right here
These guys elevate each other's musicianship. Beautiful to watch
3:15 actually the best solo on this song I've found on youtube this far
i can hear this masterpiece so many times......again......and again........and again......love it !
These guys have mastered their craft ,and young to play that frickin bad ass !
To have such a high level of freedom of expression must be nice. Both of these guys can truly follow their muse wherever she may lead.
I CAN HEAR THIS SONG EVERY SINGLE DAY OF MY ENTIRE LIFE AND IT WILL BE JOY TO MY SOUL. THANK U GUYS!!!
You guys create magic whenever you get together ..
Thank you.
i am Brazilian and I'm here to say that you're blessed by God, what a wonderful thing to be. It sounds like a song from one of the biggest monsters in the music scene, my parabens to voice SENSATIONAL
Sometimes a great song like this sounds best when it's stripped down to basics in this way. Brilliant.
Absolutely elite. Truly extraordinary.
wwwooowww ... I loved the "Isn't she lovely" done by Birelli Lagrene and Sylvain Luc. But that one, with Martin and Tom, hats off ! So beautifully arranged and melodic
Beatiful duet
I don't know what I feel about this, but whatever it is, I feel all of it. Outstanding 😩
No idea how often I listened to it - mouth open wide. The song is great, but this version is fantastic!!!! Thanks so much, guys!
whoever disliked this video never had respect for the fundamentals of music and prolly still doesnt know what a CMaj7 first inversion is. YOU GUYS ARE OUTSTANDING AND DISCIPLINED!
Oh my goodness 2:50 from Tom is was just magice I attended a workshop of his years ago and thought he was stunning. Martins playing as well is just mind blowing
So much freaking feelings in these fingers... That just amazing, I could listen to you guys jamming for days!
Absolutely amazing performances!!
Nah that was actually incredible
Thank you for 6:24 minutes of heaven.
Sem palavras...alegrou o meu dia... Parabéns, meninos pela execução. Salve Wonder
0:35 astonishing moves & synchro, seems like one of Bach’s fugues... love it !
C'est tellement crémeux, j'adore
You two are on a whole other level than us mere mortals.
That is best 6 minutes I've spent on TH-cam in ages. Just sublime playing and TONE FOR DAYS!!!!! Totally not my style of music but God that was sublime.
Chapeau chaps, Chapeau.
God I love the AZ’s, in the right hands they can sound like the most beautiful instrument you’ll ever hear
Why can't you like every time you watch? It is beautiful!
WOW WOW WOW!!! I screamed when he hit the distortion pedal!!!
He could not resist to the distortion! 😂🎸👍🤘👏👏👏👏
Jonathan A. Machado Official i think he uses kind of thin strings for his solo work so in order to play those jazzy lines on the high strings and not have a dead sound he had to add a bit of distortion :)
@@greggoso600 He doesn't use thin strings, you made that up. He doesn't use low action or compression either. He's just that good :)
@@MartinMillerGuitar i love your sound sir!
The amount of times I have listened to this is unreal
2 absolute amazing guitar players and one awesome song ... Well isn't this lovely
Always a pleasure watching Tom's playing
I have a lovely daughter
Thanks for the lovely music.. ❤
I thought it might be five minutes of tweedly-deedly shredding but, oh my goodness! They listened to each other!
None of this was 'shredding'.
What a killer cover
What a lovely chords
Who "Thumbs Down" on such a great jamming rendition??? Loved this!
damn - I haven't heard Tom playing like this before... he killed it.
It's always a joy to see these two best-in-the-world guitarists do what they do best...
That is the CRAZIEST "resolve" i've ever heard im my 30 years of playing guitar 😅.. love it..
Man guys this is just beautiful!!
Thanks for sharing your passion and gift!!
Extraordinary phenomenal playing I love this song and you guys r just off the map brilliant.
Dude, Martin's guitar has the warmest tone. Delicious. Tom is a bloody prodigy, as usual.
I believe its improvised, thats the art of music, and these guys shows their class, beautiful licks as well, these guys deserve an award! 💯
You have to love Tom's face when high gain kicks in :D
I think that has just as much to do with the fact that they did a modulation
Amazing outro, i can´t stop to listening it.
Nice teamwork Boys. You guys couldn't have been born when this album was released on the late seventies. Thank you for honoring the beautiful music of yesteryear and thank you for continuing the tradition of jazz. Need more people like you 2.
Devastatingly good.
One of the best performances I’ve ever seen. Got me tearing up on how good this was
I love this beautiful arrangement! You guys are awesome!
Beautiful, inspiring, fresh, modern, virtuosity, there aren't enough adjectives to describe this one!
Tom's rhythm playing floored me... WOW!!!!
0:57 Oh well, if I practice loads, then maybe in 5 years I can reach this level.
2:49 Nevermind
tiching99 the hardest part is to write that
@@Mathis-ht1uq None of that is written, it's improvised.
@@MartinMillerGuitar thats really amazing
spontaneous playing live and in sync with each other
I absolutely adore this cover, you made them guitars sing
It's not only the technique, that's the easiest part, Developing that kind of musical vocabulary will take longer than 5 years.
@@rub800 dude much longer you develop it your whole life
Love Toms neck single coil pick up has a great tone all by it's self ! And Martins neck humbucker tone nice full jazz tone !
Love the comparison and love both sounds.
WOW. Isn’t *it* lovely 🥰
I was missing this jazzy/fusion performance. Congratulations, dear Martin (and dear Tom, of course).
Uauuu!!! Muito top... Incrível, muita alma e coração em cada nota e acorde
Very original and tasteful arrangement. Well done guys!
killer tones
No exaggeration, being virtuoso and still showing respect to the melody. I feel it’s something missing in most modern guitar player
