Mine is definitely music and playing the piano on this guy's level is probably my current goal. Eventually Chopin is my ultimate goal. Talent unparalleled, and I know jazz is this way, but just not enough melody for me. Any jazz player can take a chord progression and improvise like crazy, but what makes this song IS the melody. Without it, all you have is a bunch of ad libs. Yohan IS the king no matter what.

It is an arrangement. An improvisation would be the original playing in the background and Mr. Kim basically soloing over the top. Here is the exact same AB song structure with some altered and some substitute chords. His solo occurs at the same place Stevie's harmonica solo does. The solo is the improvisation. This is an arrangement. Had nothing been changed, then it would be a cover!

If it were an arrangement, it would have been scored, first; and even though there IS now a score which can be seen on You Tube, it's a computer-generated score which was done AFTER he played the piece. This sensational musician has a very rare gift as a superb jazz keyboard IMPROVISER. With any luck, he'll be seen performing at the Village Vanguard in coming years.

Lovely Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your initial thoughts. Have you considered - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (do a google search)? It is a good one off product for learning piano fast minus the hard work. Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy finally got excellent success with it.

@@chiefawilkerson practice scales everyday, and start to learn about jazz chords and improv. Make sure you’re actually ready enough to start learning about that tho. It’s a more theory and knowledge than most stuff you learn
