When The Bough Breaks - workprint vs. Blu-ray

This video compares 2 versions of the classic STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION episode called "When The Bough Breaks". On the left side you will see various scenes taken from a VHS tape labelled as "Montage worktape Final Cut 14-Jan-1988", on the right side you can see the scenes as they appear in the Blu-ray version of the episode.

@3:44 that’s the first time I’ve fully appreciated just how precise the child actors need to be in this show, one wrong move and they’d have ruined that effects shot.

What is the original source for blu-ray version?

Not sure what you mean. If you ask what "I" used for this video, I ripped it from the official Blu-ray set. If you ask what CBS used for the official Blu-ray set, they created a new scan of the original 35mm negatives

@@TrekkieChannel Thanks. I meant the latter. A couple of naive questions, when CBS acquires the rights, do they take possession of the originals? Are the originals subject to degradation, or is there some reliable means of preservation? P.S., I love your channel.
