Rainbow sandals can handle some water I had a pair for about 8 years they constantly got wet when I go down to the beach every week! I didnt stand in the the water with them and fully submerge then but they got quite wet when I would get out and put them back on. Im not sure why you would want to submerge them completely anyways. I did have the issue where some of the die from the leather got on my feet when I first got them but nothing serious and it eventually stopped. Just try not to fully submerge them very often and they hold up great! I could have gone probably another 4 years with those sandals but I lost them awhile back. My second pair is breaking in nice!
Are they still the same quality? I used to buy reefs and loved em', spent 65 bucks to get a new pair and they are complete garbage, where the hell can I buy some good sandals?
It’s my understanding that most Rainbows are no longer made in America. Initial impressions seem about equal. I don’t think there have been any radical changes over the years.
Don’t know why this was recommended to me but I have to say I have a pair of 14 year old Birkenstock sandals that are still holding up fine, a little bit of the glue at the side (where the straps are)came loose at one point but I reglued it and it’s ok again. They would still have worked just fine without regluing as the strap was still firmly stuck inside the sole/footbed, just not attached to the side part of the footbed anymore. I think I will get at least another 2 summers out of them before they need replacing. Maybe longer. They did cost a fair bit at the time (about £50) but considering they have lasted so long I have saved a lot of money in the long run.
I call bull shit, maybe if your just walking on concrete. I wear nothing but sandals shoes are prisons for the feet. My soles wore through in a year and a half
If I pay you the cost of the shoes plus shipping, plus five bucks for you to go wild with, would you grab me a pair of those at the store and send them to me?
I’d say yes, but I don’t know how many pairs they have left. I picked up a large in sierra brown. The lady there had also brought an identical sandal in a mocha/expresso darker brown. It was tempting, but I just went with what matched my old pair. So I know I’m the least they have that mocha pair.
My first pair was the single layer, but a year later I upgraded to the double layer, and wore it forever. I don’t feel a huge difference between the two. Maybe if you did a lot of walking around town it would make a difference.
@@VaughnJogVlog With my first pair, I wore all the way through the outsole and started wearing into the cushion layer, so I figured I should get an extra cushion layer for when that happens again lol

Olukai is superior. I recommend the Tuahine
Just replaced my 15 year old pair with this version.
How do you like them?
@@stopthephilosophicalzombie9017 seems like same good quality and the extra cushion is nice
@@rob060 Sweet. Thanks.
My first pair was the single layer, but a year later I upgraded to the double layer, and wore it forever. I don’t feel a huge difference between the two. Maybe if you did a lot of walking around town it would make a difference.
@@VaughnJogVlog With my first pair, I wore all the way through the outsole and started wearing into the cushion layer, so I figured I should get an extra cushion layer for when that happens again lol
did i get a shitty pair cause my rainbows are blistering my feet already...
That's normal. Mine were painful to wear the first week. Then they got very soft and became my favorite pair to wear.
San Clemente OC baby!
13 years and the tread on the bottom still looks brand new. I don’t think these have seen much use...
Not a ton of around town walking. They’re worn in house, walking down the street to check the mail box, in the yard.
i go through a pair of sandals every year. the sole will wear down eventually. not sure how all you people here can make em last so long.
A pair of Rainbows? I may be picking up a new pair soon. My current pair is about 3 years old now and I just miss the soft feel they had. I’m still wearing my original pair outside occasionally.
@@VaughnJogVlog _Any flipflops, sandals, slippers you can recommend for maximum comfort that can be water resistant?_
Rainbow has a rubber version. I’ve considered giving them a try but have only ever seen their nubuck sandals in store. Water destroys them, so wouldn’t recommend them for anywhere near a pool or the like, but you might want to try the rubber version. Hope this helps.
@@VaughnJogVlog _I am trying to get for my mom. She likes something very lightweight, comfortable, fit stripes, not loose. I am trying between Rainbow, Reef, Olukai and other brands! I don't know which one can be more comfortable!_
I haven’t tried the other brands, but don’t see them being more comfortable than Rainbow. I’m considering getting a pair for my mom as well. She says she doesn’t like the between the toes thong, but I didn’t either until I had Rainbow sandals.
Do they offer a model built without flesh?
Larry Gray Yes. Several hemp sandals.
@@VaughnJogVlog ...and they offer the classic rubber top: www.amazon.com/dp/B07DL7FCX7/?coliid=I3TBUGU27WVKP1&colid=2SL1X61L70EBY&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
@@VaughnJogVlog I owned the hemp... they were ok... I didn't care for the texture of the hemp... if that was all they offered, I'd wear those. I always go for the expresso color (except on my original 302's)... I'm tempted to order a pair for the beach/pool. I wouldn't recommend anyone intentionally get the leather ones wet. They can handle light water/splashes, but not soaking. Soak them and they'll start cracking over time... as mine have but it doesn't bother me.
Avoid the foam ones (The Cloud.) Bought a pair about 6 months ago and the foam is already worn to the point where I can feel the soles of the flip flops on the bottom of my feet. I'm not a fat person neither so I can only imagine how much quicker these would wear out on bigger people.
Sponsered?
Vruteo I said I paid $39.
Have had mine 1 year and they are already breaking apart. Garbage
So… the new pair I bought In the video is about 3.5 years old, exclusively worn around the house, and not looking so great. The leather is far more cracked than my old pair. Looks like a knife was taken to them with deep cracks and this week I’m seeing chunks missing.
Perhaps it’s a “they don’t make them like they used to” situation.
Yeah it really sucks because I loved them up to this point. According to their warranty I am SOL since it’s considered normal wear and tear. I think I’m going to try some Olukai flip flops
