    Just purchased my first pair from HB, California after wanting them for years. So excited! Hopefully the break in process isn’t too uncomfortable.

      Yeah. Hopefully not too bad. They are a little stiff to start but loosen up pretty quickly.

    I just purchased my 3rd pair of Rainbow sandals this evening 1/9/2024. My first pair were given to me as a gift from my Mom in my early teens and were the classic, single layer in tan like yours. I eventually grew out of them so my Mom wore them after me, as her feet are smaller. They lasted over 10 years. My second pair finally "died" beyond repair after heavy, daily use in Hawai'i for 14 years. They were again, the classic, singler layer sandals, but in black. The pair I just ordered are the double layer ones. I cant wait to get them in the mail! I know and trust Rainbow sandals and fully expect my new pair to last another decade at least! Mahalo for sharing. 🤙

      That’s really cool that you were able to use yours for so long. So far. I’ve acfually found the double layer to be wearing quicker than my previous ones. I think the thicker sole makes it hit the ground more and wear down more. I’ll probably go back to the single layer after this pair. Not really worth it from what I can tell after one summer.

    Try Southern Polished sandals. I think you’d love them. Take care.

    Great video. Very good review! I like this kind of content and learning about different experiences. I use flip flops a lot and the rainbow ones are also one of the best I've tried, together with the reef and olukai. I use the classic model of rainbow and I like to wear them a lot for going out or dressing up as they go with everything. I have also tried the rubber ones and I recommend them a lot when you have to wear them and get wet with water. Looking at this latest model you bought I think they are much better and more durable. It is true that they always fade due to the humidity of the feet but they give the impression that they last longer and are more resistant. In the case of these double layer pairs, as they are thicker, do you think that when they get wet with water they will wear less? I would like to see more videos of these and the progress of using these new double layer pairs. Very nice work.

      Thanks for watching, comment, and feedback with your experience with the flip flops. The new ones seem to be a little less durable than my old. Last time I checked the sole of the shoe near the heel seems to be wearing down quicker. My suspicion is that because it’s thicker it drags more on the ground and wears down quicker. I have never gotten them wet so can’t really comment on that. I’ll try and do a follow up video after one summer now that it’s entering the winter months. Thanks again and let me know if you have any other questions. Please subscribe if interested.

      @@AndrewRockTH-cam Subscribed! In the case of the rubber rainbow sandals, the wear is much less than the leather ones. I will wait to see the result of the double layer sandals, to know whether to buy one or not. Thank you very much for your help!

    I wear size 11 in shoes, what size should I get? Can you measure those and I’ll measure my foot and see if I can fit into them or if I need the bigger ones

    • @AndrewRockYoutube
      @AndrewRockYoutube  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately, I cant get around to making precise measurements right now. But, based on my experience, the 9.5-10.5 just fits my foot well and I wear 10.5. So, I would recommend going up to the size 11-12. Should work pretty well for you. If interested, in purchasing, the links in the description help support my channel through commissions. Let me know if you have additional questions.

    I just order my first Rainbow sandals single layer... I really like light flip flops (I wore Teva Mush for over 20 years, but now they have stopped with this model) so I ordered the single layer via Amazon USA (I live in Holland). Can you do a comparison in weight between the single layer and the double layer?

    • @AndrewRockYoutube
      @AndrewRockYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice. I hope you will like them. I tried looking for the weight on the Amazon and Raindblw Sandals website. But, it looks like it’s not listed. Generally, I haven’t noticed that much difference with the double layer. It was a little stiffer to break in but beyond that it’s very very similar in style and feel.

    Is it a double layer of rubber, or double layer of foam? Thought it was the latter.

    • @AndrewRockYoutube
      @AndrewRockYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว

      Double layer of foam. My thought was at like $10-15 more the double layer of foam would still last worth the higher price. So far they feel very similar to the single layer. Broke in without problems.

    They comfortable?

    • @AndrewRockYoutube
      @AndrewRockYoutube  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They take a little to break in but after that are comfortable. I find each summer I do get some blisters the first use cause my feet aren’t used to them but then it’s fine all summer. Usually it’s because I walk way too much in flip flops sometimes

    I wear a pair in the gym everyday when I shower, and I have a pair I wear everyday at home.. the quality is good, but they are starting to look well worn. like If I was a stranger and seen my flip flops I would say ewwww lol.. they look insanely worn and sweaty looking..

    • @AndrewRockYoutube
      @AndrewRockYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว

      Why would you wear a pair of these while showering at the gym? A cheaper pair would definitely make more sense otherwise the leather is just getting soaked over and over and destroyed. How long have you had both pairs?

    Rainbow Sandals are a joke now. Just replaced my double souled sandals after 10 years and the exact same model i bought fell apart in a week. Unbelievable amount of chaffing too. Had to put bandages over my skin to keep from injuring myself wearing them.
    How the mighty have fallen.

    I have worn Barefoot Sandals going on 10 years (Luna & Bedrock) & I love them. For a flip flop I have alway bought the better ($30) version. This January I bought the Southern Polish FF - looks like the Rainbow. After 3 months I am pretty happy with them now that they have broken in. Only real complaint is they are too thick & spongy for my liking. (must be the barefoot sandal affect-:)

    • @AndrewRockYoutube
      @AndrewRockYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. Never heard of barefoot sandals especially because flip flops are almost as barefoot as you can get. Will have to check them out.

      @@AndrewRockTH-cam Main differences between a BF sandal to a FF . BFS are build stronger - you can actually hike or run in a BFS, FF are great for easy on off & short walks scenarios - BFS usually have far thinner & more robust (Vibram et al) soles than a FF.

      @AndrewRockYoutube  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TerryManitoba Yeah. That makes more sense after I looked at the photos for the two brands you mentioned. Check out my videos on the minimalist shoes. Those are pretty nice and use them in the gym or for running all the time. They are not as ‘barefoot’ as other designs but still activate all of your foot/ankle muscles compared to traditional shoes.
