Very useful tips. I would also recommend blowing on your camera lenses first before wiping them with a cloth, to prevent micro scratches if any dust is present.
My man, thanks for reminding us of the pocket wonder we carry every day. I just checked my phone gallery and it's full with dull stuff, taking picture of groceries that i liked so i can get them the same next time and whatnot. I absolutely love my Sony camera but definitely forgot that I have a very good camera in my pocket as well. Thanks for the content, love it.

@@thaticelandicguy I am on the verge of ordering one. Making the switch from my iPhone 12pro max. I tried the 1iii but it was too dim and the selfie camera sucked for my usecase. Thus I hoped for the 1iv. but this heat issue is a bit unnerving. Seeing someone experience the phone and make great photography is really selling it to me again. Hard choice

im using a 5ii but they should make the layout screen of the photography pro to make a photo bigger and the buttons a bit smaller
Viewed this on my Sony xperia 1 iii Even for us manual users, your GO TO mode is Program Auto no matter what photographer you are. Tricker darker and faster shots will be in manual and Shutter priority.
1 thing i think Xperia users could get especialy Xperia 1 IV users is ND filter.. ND filter would help to take some great long exposure shots (stills) or create cinematic motion effect of video with 180 degree rules..
If you saw one of the videos I made with this then I taped an old ND filter for a GoPro on my Xperia 1iv and it worked great to get that 180dwgree rule
@@thaticelandicguy Amazon has a few cheap 37mm clip on ND filters for phones. The quality control isn't great and I recommend getting a set of better quality 37mm ND filters to use with the clip, but the clip works well.

Can you save some of your favourite settings or you have always recently used when you open camera?
Have you had any issues with the overheating of your phone? I heard even with the current update it overheats unless you put it on 60 Hertz. It's been a good 7 years since my last Sony phone and I'm considering this one.
Sadly nobody will tell you the true! Some of them {many of them} (reviewers) are hiding the reality because they are payed to hide the problems!

He's in Iceland, not the Sahara... In all seriousness, I haven't noticed overheating with photography, more with the cinema pro app.
@@championthewonderhorse9733 that is what I was talking about : the 4k 120 fps video test thermals! Overheating problem! Wondering after the last updates... Maybe is getting better... I don't know. That's why I was asking about it!
You should make a video on how to do a photo shoot in 3 mins or less. That way the Xperia doesnt overheat

@@janne303 gör så! Det kommer nog komma nd filter för Xperia 1iv, men just nu använder jag ss gamla GoPro filtrets. Funkar prima!

How about blur on telephoto lens? Is it easy to reduce in postprocess?
I had Xperia 1 II but the pictures were always so bad. I think I must buy this phone and takes some lessons with my working friend who is a good photographer with pro cameras. I can get it now for 1199€ plus WH-1000XM4 headphones for free of charge. Good bargain I think.
On the other hand, I did look at reviews and I came to the conclusion that I did buy a Xiaomi 12 PRO (originally a 1099€ phone I got for 799€ and I have 12 or 13 pairs of Parrot ZIK 1.0 headphones which sound I love so much. Other headphones like Sony are weird plastic sound and lack of good bass.) I have many Xiaomi products from BT water cookers, and power banks to dashcams, and those are high quality even though it is a Chinese brand. But many other brands even from other countries but made in China have problems and lack quality control. DJI is another Chinese company I trust. I have had a Mavic Pro drone for 5 and a half years without any problems.
P is for program not professional mode. A for aperture priority and S for shutter priority. M for manual mode. Drives me crazy when people don't know what they stand for and just make them up. Otherwise good video.
Edit: A is for automatic on this phone.

How come you never comment on the overheating issues when recording 4K 120 or 4K 60 long format?
I haven't really experienced issues with it tbh, it's gotten warm for sure but it hasn't stopped working for me. But then again I'm mostly using it for photography
@@thaticelandicguy okay for you next video. Why don’t you do a stress test at 4K 30, 4K 60 and 4K 120 and see how long it can record till it overheats and shuts off?
Turn off 120Hz and 5G while recording.
Turn on stamina.
Turn off eye AF
@@thaticelandicguy I have the same experience, I can record over 10 minutes straight in 4k 60fps or use 4k 120 and it won't overheat. I can use my camera on my Xperia 1iv all day without any issue. I really think the first batch had some faulty devices. I got mine three weeks ago and made about 10 full video productions and no issues at all.

Xperia uses high bitrates. Then people want to record 4K@60 and 120 with 5G, 120Hz turned on, maximimum brightness while using stuu like eye AF/tracking that increase processing ( consequently raises cpu activity) , but feel surprised phone gets hot ..
I remember ppl using ice to handle canon r5 back then. Even pro gear gets hot.
Thank you for being one of the SENSIBLE ones and using Sony phones what they are made for..Basic is so lame. If you are using a Sony phone and using it in auto/basic then you should not get a Sony phone!
I find it extremely disappointing that no youtuber has ever used the 85-125mm for portraits including you. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING. That is where this camera should shine because in theory, there would be actual subject and background separation. But nope. No photographer has truly showcased the capabilities of those lenses. They only talk about zooming🤦♂️ including you!
Sorry that you feel that way. Unfortunately I'm not that much of a portrait photographer. You might have noticed though that I did use the zoom a lot for cityscape. I absolutely love zoom for landscape and city. However it's a great idea for a video. Will talk to some models and see if they are down for a portrait session with the Xperia! 😊
no youtuber is a strong word,, i saw a lot of o5her review where 85mm was used for portrait... you can check ibordelais channel he has english subtitles

My zoom shots are always blurry. Tried, auto, AF, MF, increased shutter speed but nothing works. Any ideas? Standard 24mm is great.
