Recently, I decided to try out another Pokemon ROM Hack, and GS Chronicles came highly recommended. If you like the johto region, but want more of it, than this is the rom hack for you! And to make things interesting, lets do it as a hardcore nuzlocke!

1) Only Catch The First Pokémon On Each Route
2) If A Pokémon Faints, I Cant Use Them

I wish this game got finished and not abandoned. This hack deserved to go to kanto and be completed

I really enjoyed this playthrough!! We need to do more nuzlockes of ROM Hacks, my only hurdle is that I wish the documentation was better
Yeah same. This was was decent in all honestly, until I went to the most recent update, then things took a turn for the worst.
Fire mouse is actually a fire porcupine and then evolves into what appears to be a fire badger or a fire weasel but could still very well be a mutant elongated fire porcupine.
Fun fact: Aile’s design is just beta Jasmine from Spaceworld 97
That is a fun fact. And thanks to you, I just went down a rabbit hole looking at all the unused pokemon sprites from spaceworld 97. Its funny that out of the three starters, chikorita is the only one that didnt change. And there a fair number of type effectiveness changes too that I wasn't aware of.
@@NuzlockeJoe oh, I know a ton about the beta LMAO. There’s a TON more sprites aside from that within the 98 sprite archive and the 99 demo. It’s really interesting. And yeah, although people assumed it did change a little because of the recreation drawn by someone who played the demo, which, as with the others, was inaccurate.
I really enjoy these rom hack vanilla like Nuzlockes keep up the good work ❤

I played this game so amazed and exited and i was so sad when i got to the end and there is no Kanto 😭😭

I played it a couple years ago and they had stated they would possibly do kanto eventually. Sad they didn’t add it because they truly did a great job.

Yeah I did not look up the mega forms before starting the run. I mean, I knew the Johto starters had one, but I wanted to be surprised. Dragon type feralligator is certainly legit

I really loved this video!! I have a video idea that I haven't seen on TH-cam and I think you're the perfect person to do this, Can you Beat Pokemon Yellow With Red's Heart Gold and Soul Silver Team?
Oh yeah, that is a good one! And it shouldn’t be too hard to swap around the sprites to play as red either.
Also this is why I make save states (often) especially with hacks that can soft lock for no reason 😂 haha
Yeah in the future I likely will use save states for rom hacks. It's a habit I've gotten out of since starting nuzlockes because I obviously can't use them during battles
If you’re planning on a play through of this game I would recommend Ledian. It’s so powerful In this rom. Power up punch, drain punch, Stardust punch and baton pass

30:40 I assume you are not aware of this but each gym leader actually does has ‘proper’ teams of high levelled pokemon. They just use pokemon of a lower level to give trainers a chance to earn their gym badges accordingly. Proof of this is how there are gym leader rematches. In rematch battles they use their proper team.

I remember I played this rom hack a while ago but I never got around to finishing it. I bad for you though, you lost so many mons, what a crazy run!

For me personally even tho Mudkip has been my favorite starter literally since ruby version came out and I first laid eyes on that cute little guy I… wait I had a point… oh ya in my opinion and experience gen 3 AAAAND Gen 4 are the best for over all gen 3 just 3 destroyers and great designs and I mean infernapeciacone of the greatest designed starters of all time and the torterra!??? Grass ground!!?? What!!?? And Empoleon even tho it’s my least fave stil amazing typing!!! The were spitting for two full generations with 3 and 4! And some of the other Pokémon in those gens are also some of the best to this day FlyGon Garchomp spiritomb salamance they really killed it with those two gens!! Anyway love the channel just subbed I love it already you just have a way with your words 😂❤

I think you did pretty fine honestly. GS Chronicles is infamous for being one of the most bullshit nuzlocke games, mostly because it forces upon you some unfair fights against what frankly feels like Pokémon with the wrong speed stats. It pained me a little seeing things like freaking Mega Aerodactyl being outsped by non-scarf Mismagius... but oh well. Nonetheless, great video!
Yeah I can see that. Overall I still enjoyed it for sure, just some of the stats didn't make a ton of sense

Hmm my game freezes when entering the radiotower (when you see jiggilypuf). Did you encounter this?
they probably gave luxray a psychic type because of his abilty to see through the walls. also, his name has lux in it, which means light, i dont know if a dark typing is appropiate for it

I wanna play this game, but is there a way to get a larvitar earlier than victory road? Like in hgss you can get it in the safari zone

Larvitar can be found in mt mortar. Not sure about its exact encounter rate but I encountered one there while exploring.

Wait, which version of the hack is this? I have the latest one (may 2023) and the hud is completely different (not to mention pokemon up to gen 8+hisui)
I actually beat this last summer, and just didn’t get around to publishing for a while. Though this version had gen 8 too, like obstagoon

How many pokemon you actually could have caught
As in what generations of pokemon or how many for a nuzlocke? There are plenty of routes to get pokemon so that really isn't an issue

A romhack is an edited .rom file, a fan game is made from scratch, usually on RPGMaker. The original console has nothing to do with it.
GS Chronicles is a romhack of FireRed.

Can you please stop saying that was not in the guide. The word challenge means something, you are supposed to do this without a guide that's how you really enjoy the game. I get it you are using a guide as you are trying to create content, but please don't break the fourth wall unnecessarily

Every nuzlocke content creator reads guides. The thing that annoyed me the most is that he literally said they patched the game during the run and ofc his guide is now outdated..
99% of nuzlockers use guides bc they’re already in a tough position. Why are you mad at a TH-camr “breaking the fourth wall”🤡😭😭

This challenge would be literally impossible without a guide or having memorized every trainers Pokemon and moves. Breaking the fourth wall helps with interaction for the audience, if it’s not for you, I’d stop watching TH-cam
