@_Hollie_ well if ur really really good then u ll get sponsored. Can already start when ur 14, the sponsorship. And yes it is expensive. Racing ski costs 700 euros when ur under 18. Over 18 one pair costs 1300€. And if your doing it competitively then u ll be needing 4 pairs almost every season. Counting the gear u ll be needing is another 1000 €. So doing it out of ur own pocket is tough.
Yeah "hands on practice" with skiing and snowboarding is a great way seriously injure yourself or even pass, if you're not careful. Being able to practice a dangerous sport without the danger is actually really useful.

Yes! My local charity has this device and allows kids with cerebral palsy to ski there! They prepare them for the real slope and start safely skiing there bc they already have the skills. It's great.
