A lot of my (Idaho, USA) home’s rooms are outfitted with Klipsch G-28, the 640D predecessor. The G-28’s are devoid low end, but that was addressed by adding a Velodyne 15” sub. I just purchased two 640Ds (for my master bedroom) and purchased an SVS PC-4000 sub (that’s been on back order, but should ship in a few days). The 640Ds are more crisp than the G-28s (and sound absolutely amazing when paired to my Velodyne), and I anticipate replacing all my G-28’s with the 640Ds and my Velodyne’s with SVS PC-4000 subs (my wife hates the sub’s big, square box, but likes the looks of the PC-4000). Good vid and I’m happy to see more people giving some love to the very capable 640Ds.
Excelent review, thanks! I order the 140d for sourround back and i think the same for the roof atmos, becose they are so thin, what do you think abbout it, please let me know. regards Ed from BA Argentina.
Hi i bought a pair of 140d and the specification page says its impedance is 8 ohms, but when I got it the sticker on the back says it’s 4 ohms. I’m wondering which one is true? If it’s 4ohms then can I connect it to an 8 ohms amplifier?
After doing some research on internet I found that 1 of a 240 d speaker is enough for a ideal room and 2 of them are enough for a mini home theater, what would you say
Big mistake going with one (1) 240D, as you will lose the “stereo” effect sans both L and R channels. If money is an issue, that prevents you from buying two 640Ds, then buy two RP-240Ds! This will give you the desired “stereo” (L and R channel) effect. The 240D and 640D lack any discernible low end, so a sub (at least 12”) will be needed. Good luck ✌🏻
I think these are the speakers I was looking for 640D, I just bought a Klipsh R120 SW and was looking for slim speakers to go with this system. Is the 640D a active or passive speaker? I use ELAC pipe on another system which are excellent I wanted to get ELAC pipes for this one too thought of getting something different for this one.
@@ragtec9592 Thanks for your response, Is there a difference in sound between the RP240D and 640D? Also how do these speakers handle the mid frequency sounds, I want to use them for music, not for the TV or Movies?
I mena if you look at the on paper difference there is no difference on power handling and all the other parameters except the driver configuration but yes you can feel a difference in wide spread or dispersion on the speaker the 640d sounds much wider then the 240d.
@@ragtec9592 - Thanks Param you actually sold me on these speakers on your review, So currently I have 2 systems. Marantz Analogue Amp with ELAC speakers indoors and Cambridge speakers out doors in my garden. Player is a Cambridge and velodyne subwoofer. This system sounds fantastic use it for for music only. The second one which is a bits and pieces that I had not played for 3 years, it is an old Sharp Player, with a Denon Amp that is 23 years old, I had some old Microlab matchbox speakers (64db) that I canabalized from an old 5.1 Microlab system also 23 years old, I play the music from a tab using VLC and flac files. The sound is surprisingly very good because I used the equalizer in VLC. In fact my friends who have B&W 704 speakers said that this was sounding better than his set up (I think his amp is having problems). I bought a Klipsh R120 SW recently to use with this system. However I want these speakers to replace the microlab at they are only 64db and only go down to 150Hz, since I am planning to spend this money (for 2 Klipsh 640Ds) I wanted to ask you since you are very knowledgeable and have experience with these 640D how they handle the mid range sounds as they are 2 way speakers, tweeter high frequency and Woofer low frequency from what I understand, I wanted to know what about the sound of Mid range frequencies as I want them for listening to quality music and not for TV or movies.

Yah if you going for a 2 channel setup, then yah its completely okay but i think pairing a sub woofer would be nice

All the slim speakers you saw in these video are passive

They work very well for tv but you need an amp for powering them
