    Great playing and a really comprehensive demo; I don't need one of these but now I sort of want one.

    What a great sound! That voice control is subtle yet powerful.
    I'd like to run a univibe in front of it, maybe a Fuzzface in front of the vibe for that Hendrix thing
    Fantastic demo!

      Listening back to this, I think at least 50% of what I loved about this one is the Supersonic 22!

    Shane i took your advice. Picked up a peavey bandit red stripe trans tube. Amazing authentic feel. I don't play my mustang 3 anymore. I gave it to my son. Thanks for the knowledge.

    So wild. I was on their website all day today looking at their amps, pedals and pickups. Sounds great.

    Once again MLA has produced an excellent pedal, if you play blues or hard rock then thus pedal is a must have addition to any pedal board.
    It paired very well with the Fender SS 22
    Fabulous tone with clarity and headroom
    Great review Shane.

    I went to Macon, GA in 2019, felt like coming home! Wonderful place and the people were so gracious. Saw a guitarist named Dustin McCook, excellent player, well worth checking out. Pedal sounds great, really nails those tones. Thanks Shane, great review! Now, just have to sell a kidney to afford one!!

    Nice. I have both the Peacock and Medicine Man and love them. The Peacock gets a lot of these tones as well. Mine does not have the boost, but I hit it with a Tube Screamer and it really rocks hard, when I want those tones.

    super similar to the zendrive circuit, except with a ton of mods. it seems the makers of this pedal switched the ic around to give it a bit more dirt the 1458 is known for, rather than the 712 on the zen for being a bit smoother.. then there’s a few mods to the caps and diodes used to change the clipping and thickness a bit and adds a 3 way cap switcher as well as a few other caps and resistors here and there using the ic for an additional boost footswitch.. honestly this pedal seems to be like a hidden gem! when the zen goes for 1000$ plus and this has the same stuff going on plus some, this is a winner! that said, i would change the ic to a 2134 or a 712 and probably the voice pot to a b10 like the zen, and maybe also the volume to a b100 instead of an a100. maybe change one of the diodes to matching clipping on the zen but this is an awesome circuit!

    Man… I’m not only 100% happy with my current tone, haven’t been wanting any pedals, but I can do all these sounds with pedals I have now… and I think I might buy it anyways 😂
    Mostly because I’m from the Atlanta area, been living in NY 9 years, and I’m homesick, but I also feel like I have two pedals that I only use stacked with one another and I get a tone I heard in this with them, replace two pedals with one. 🤔 oh, and also, shrooms.
    At the very least I’ll try it out because of this, but this definitely seems like my sort of thing.

    LOL despite I am lefty, I cannot adapt to see your playing guitar - my head still has feeling it's looking at some mirror image LOL. (I have learned to play RH) . BTW AO 50's strat is amazing! have the same blonde one. Even I had PRS even the same trampas gree as you have but I have never liked that guitar. Neither the USA made. Both were sold.. and yes.. great playing!

    Love your playing Shane and im sorry if i sound cynical but id love to know how many 'new' overdrive pedals are released every year and if any of them offer something new or unique? My guess is several hundreds and no.

    • @mr.d.572
      @mr.d.572 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's RIDICULOUS how many pedals are released each month, period. Back when I was a teenager, we had basically a handful of distortion pedals. Now there's tons and tons of pedals of all types, it's overwhelming.

    Bought a Peacock from MLA when they released the hand wired version and love it. Your review of that had me hooked. Curious if you still had that what you think of this in comparison- I know they’re quite different but both have the voice control concept. Is this more of a Peacock on steroids or completely different in person?

    • @dodger916
      @dodger916 ปีที่แล้ว

      Their pedals are beginning to sound the same to me. A side-by-side, A/B comparison would seem to be a relevant exercise.

  • @mannyfragoza9652
    @mannyfragoza9652 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    this pedal has captured my attention. most pedal sound about the same to me. This is like a boost pedal with grit. Very nice. BTW your Fender S.S. sounds killer maybe thats why this pedal sounds so good ;O) Is MLA a US company?

    Are all the pedals from Missing Link better paired with clean amps like Fenders? Or are they good boosts for Cranky amps like the jtm45 you reckon? I have a jtm45 and i would like to buy the peacock overdrive

  • @nickjimenez4262
    @nickjimenez4262 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great playing as always, nice pedal, i use the mega distortion and i go full bore with it. Of course everything is easier to play like that. This pedal is right up my alley, thanks for another great demo. Shane, what other pedals youve played give you a full on Marshall JCM 800 that you would recommend?

  • @ovohm
    @ovohm 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems to me a FET cascade pedal derived from the Mythical Okko Diablo, designed and manufactured in Lipzig, Germany from the guys that put on the market the best overdrive ever seen (check their history)....

  • @chrispys696

    Silly question but would something like that work well on a small practice amp like a roland cube? don't have a valve type amp. I watch this stuff and often wonder.

    so it's the Peacock with a different name. I guess the next version will be Germanium (but not real germanium, since they use silicon equivalents).
