These forms, where their powers have affected one another to transform them further, are interesting and it's always cool to take a deeper look and see what references and smaller details might be hiding within. These designs are really cool for sure. Ichigo’s is way better than his 5th anni version.
I think these new forms look awesome, but i don't kow why but i think Ichigo's new form looks better.
I think Uryu could get his new form that i think is Vollstandig, because of connection between Old Man Zangetsu and Yhwach.
I think their draw rates are terrible
I love the designs personally. Especially uryu. I just started brave souls last week and I'm just blown away by all the alternative versions of characters.

In the story of the event ,that they created to explain these transformations, Urahara created a new device that can absorb the power of the two and inject it into themselves respectively (From Uryu to Ichigo and Ichigo to Uryu). In Ichigo, Uryu's power mixes well with the rest of his powers, but in Uryu only the Quincy powers manifest and that makes Urahara wonder which of Ichigo's powers manifested that way. Clearly he refers to Ichigo's Quincy powers, I thought that touch was really cool and the way he said it in the story it doesn't reveal much of the plot of the manga for those who haven't read it yet

Makes me think of, when fighting Yhwach, Ichigo had to "wake up" his Quincy power using Yhwach's reiatsu before he could use his final ("Horn of Salvation") mode. But given that Kubo recently stated that it's possible for vizards and Ichigo to use Resurrecion, and that the so-called "Vasto Lorde Ichigo" is the closest thing to an Ichigo resurreccion, it makes even more sense that he could use Gran Rey Cero against Yhwach, since the one-horned form in that fight incorporated ALL of his mixed-race power, which would include a resurrection. Since he had a true zanpakutou at that point, he then also used bankai on top of that, since the powers had been properly separated when the sword was reforged.
@@mmmcgee1211 To be fair, this point event wasn't as good as the Aizen one in terms of farmability. The points per run weren't great. The only improvement was the red power source at 5mil points and the ability to use 10 tickets per run.
One thing i find really cool is when Uryu uses his ultimate he says "Didnt i tell you quincy only use bows and arrows?" then launches a giant version of the sword he was using. Meaning to me hes swinging around a arrow with a large arrow head like its a sword. i dont know i just thought that was super cool
Thsts pretty much what it is ,Yhwach did it too . But ,Yhwach does use a real sword ,so does Hashwald,Bambi ,Gerard and Opie . So Quincy do indeed use swords
I think he's wielding a Seele Schneider and it's all a throwback to that fight of his in Hueco Mundo, where he uses his Seele Schneider as a sword and then fires it out of his bow, claiming Quincy only use bow and arrows

Uryu is the only true Quincy left, Yhwhach and his gang of thugs and bullies left their pride as Quincies behind after they were slaughtered by the Gotei, their defeat taught them that brutality is more efficient than pride. Uryu meanwhile has always been fighting for the good of the Quincy pride, his fight is for their legacy. As such, he only uses bows and arrows… I think
Uryus design is amazing him using the sword having what appears to be an archangel theme then him firing the sword as an arrow while stating “Quincy’s only fight with arrows

You know what I think they should do in the series, have Ichigo charge up a black getsuga and have Ishida absorb it and fire it as a single arrow. It's a Quincy arrow with the penetrating power of a black getsuga.

I’d love to see a Hogyoku infused form. We’ve seen when his Shinigami, hollow, Quincy, and Fullbringer forms more dominating the body. But what if the Hogyoku perfectly mixes them so that his attacks shift between melee with Zangetus, ranged with a bow shot, Cero, and Getsugan Tensho.

I agree. It looks a lot better than most of the vollstandig designs from the manga. I hope Uryu uses a form similar to this in the hell arc when we eventually get the continuation. That holy saber is on point and the wings are divine 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I would like if this version of uryu was a special vollstandig that quincys can achieve without yhwach.
as a part of the event quest for the event its actually that just after ichigo got his powers back urahara is testing a device that allows powers to be transferred to eachother like how a shinigami's powers are transferred to a substitute shinigami and he even states that uryu got less shinigami influence than he expected which sort of hints towards the dormant quincy powers ichigo has
The moment I saw this form, my head went straight to chapter 513 where Yhwach considered capturing Ichigo & reprogramming him into joining the Sternritter army, before Ichigo retaliates using Blut Vene & foiling that idea. I think this form is the closest thing we get to Ichigo being reprogrammed by Yhwach & being a part of the Sternritter army, & mastering his Quincy powers.

I think the old new year Quincy design from 2018-19 is much closer to what he would look like in canon
Honestly I think it’s the collar and cool weapon that’s putting Ichigo ahead in popularity. Those aspects do look really cool and unique for him. Uryu is more put together in terms of a theme, but he’s also more…familiar in a weird way.
I just want to say that Ichigo looks amazing in white, quincy-like robes. Would like to see a "what if" scenario in which he was a Sternritter under Yhwach, that would be pretty badass.
I always wanted to see more of the Quincy side of Ichigo. Instead of adding the fullbring arc, i always thought it would be better if Ichigo learned his Quincy power like he did with the vizard before the hollow arc.
they should explore his quincy side in the hell saga, now his quincy side is fully integrated so it's natural that he can use quincy techniques
@@bluesirius1 I want Ichigo to used some type of vollstanding. He is special, besides that is the equivalent of hollow Ichigo when he fight Ulquiorra and Bankai of Shinigami. I want to see sort type of crown and wings. I don't get why he had a sword to show his Quincy side when sword are not the signature of the Quincy, i expected other thing.
Why would they add Ichigo being a Quincy before the Quincy arc?
@@hey608 your right a sword is not the signature of a Quincy but the sword is a signature of Ichigo, I thought that his Bankai should revert back to the original Zangetsu but with 100% his own power, so his Bankais abilities would be, Fullbring soul: Zangetsu manifest and complete control of Black Getsuga almost like Senbonzakura. Hallow Soul: Allows him to be engulfed in Reishi, and absorbs Reishi/Spirit Energy to add on to physical strength and can release it back into a huge cero. Quincy Soul: Complete Reishi manipulation, control of Blut Vene, and other Quincy techniques, but allows him to form his Quincy bow out of Spirit Energy and shoot Zangetsu like a huge black arrow

I love both of their designs and I was unaware their powers were bouncing off eachother. For ichigo’s it looks like the bow is a warped version of tensa zangetsu!!!! Initially I also thought uryu’s design looked like his version of Quincy vollstandig
Honestly I just prefer Ichigo's because of the messy look of it feels like his powers are intermingling but unrefined.
The coolest Quincy form was when Uryu was vsing Mayuri. It was very minimalistic purposeful, ancient from a different time, another thing is that its cool to be that strong and not be such a traffic hazard as trying hard when in most intense form isnt as cool as no effort. glowy light and wings has been done before it looks a bit tacky.
The first thing I thought of when I saw these forms was "class swoop", and that's more or less what it was. Ichigo's new look is awesome, but Uryu's is pretty cool in its own right for all the reasons you summed up. His looks seems more akin to that of a Holy Knight-type character, which fits since the Quincy have that dynamic going.
I felt like the idea was that when Uryu transferred his power to Ichigo since it was Quincy power that was being transferred that was more prominent but when Ichigo transferred his power to Uryuu, it was actually his inner Quincy power that transferred to Uryuu because at that point his “Shinigami” powers are actually derived from Yhwach and that’s why instead of looking more like a shinigami, Uryuu looked more like a sternritter lol idk probably way off
Really enjoyed your analysis of the character design.
From a gameplay standpoint - This version of Uryu is the first one in the game with a normal attack that is melee-based, which him being designed with a sword definitely lends to that. We also needed a new ranged Ichigo. Right now it's about 2:1 melee vs ranged with his character distribution. This new Ichigo also kind of seems (to me) like a spiritual successor in design to the New Year's 2019 Ichigo, which featured him "releasing all of his latent powers, not just his Soul Reaper and Hollow powers, but also the Quincy powers that lie dormant inside him." That on is still a decent enough character for the No Affiiliation Guild Quest, but doesn't have much more applicability than that and some Senkeimon Quests. Both of these new characters are dual killer, which also broadens their application.
I actually like the new Uryu better, even though I typically stick with ranged attack characters. I really like his Team/Party Stamina Recovery Skill - for me that's huge especially in the more difficult quests where you actually may need all three characters to get through.
Of course, Kisuke (according to the game) is the one whose experiments result in these new forms. He's always messing around isn't he?
Great analysis as always Tommo, I also liked Uryu's design more, I was surprised when I saw how many more votes Ichigo had. Uryu's design is just much more sleek and uniform, it just all comes together in a better way. As a video suggestion, I really love the anime's music so I'd really love a top 10 (or even top 15 if 10 is too hard) anime OST video, I'm curious what you think of the OST. Keep up the good work, not long until the TYBW anime arrives!
The reason why ichigo wins is cause unlike uryu you don't get to see ichigo Quincy form heritage and 99% wants To see Ichigo Quincy side I personally preferred Ichigo's as well , Uryu form does look better but it's a form I can imagine while with ichigo it's simply great to see his Quincy side considering his shinigami is always represents all the time. Uryu look like a white angelic knight god of light and elegance ,while ichigo looks like a Black demonic knight god of darkness and destruction

This is my favorite anniversary characters. I love that Ichigo’s arrow looks like the tip of his tensa zangetsu post Fullbring arc. The music for the 7th anniversary has also been amazing.
It would actually be really cool if the series in the Hell Arc showed that ichigo uses a mix of Quincy and fulbring powers when in human form and all out powers in his Soul Reaper form

Note as well that the vibe Uryu takes is much different from the sternritter overall, with him taking on a more "Templar" aesthetic, note as well that his cross isn't in the shape of the usual look, but takes on the shape of the Celtic Cross which makes sense for Uryu's family being of more traditional cross charms.

There is actually a quest line that shows how ichigo and uryu got those forms on the game. It could give you some more information about them.
It would be perfect if Kubo bring this form in the Hell arc later as a Quincy theme power that he got after TYBW arc. He would look so cool with new short hair style.
I do like your take on the designs here--Ichigo's represents a fullbring-conscious design that I love. Interesting how the red accents that have been an element of Ichigo's design in many of his Soul Reaper designs are seen here in the manifestation of his 'arrow' which is really just a red-colored reishi construct of what his bankai looked like when he regained his Soul Reaper powers. The previous 5th anniversary design would see that red appear as those strange offshoots of color from his back and, of course, Ichigo's classic look has the red incorporated in the strap that holds Zangetsu to his back. We so often think about Zangetsu in terms of black and white so it is surprising to me to consider that the crimson element is such a core aspect of its coloration as well. I wonder if it is meant to represent some sort of connection to his hollow powers given that we know his cero is red.
What are your thoughts?
I do like Ichigo, but I wonder why they never delved deeper into Ichigo being 1/4 quincy. (As Masaki was a Quincy/Hollow, because she had White inside her and Isshin was Soulreaper/Human, because Isshin got the the special kind of Gigai from Uruhara made for Isshin to protect Masaki from being taken over by White).
All we ever got from Ichigo being part Quincy was Ichigo using a single Quincy ability once, being "Blut". But I always thought that the "True Zangetsus" looked like 2 halves of a bow, so Ichigo could connect the hilts and start shooting reishi arrows if he ever needed, but it simply never happend and I think it really is a shame.
It would be nice if that's his bankai ability. Perhaps we will see that one future ywach saw where he witnesses ichigos bankai (kinda like a flash forward (, before we come back to the moment he breaks his bankai and proceeds to whooping his buttox before absorbing part of his powers and leaving him to despair).
@@enriquetaylor4226 Yeah, the true zangetsus bankai was a mess. It was cool Ichigo's hollow power was part of the bankai and he could use a cero to combine with his Getsuga tencho.
It was a mess cause Ichigo brings it out and Yhwach snaps the bankai in halve .... Everyone panics as we can't get a new sword again, because everyone (except Ichibee) of the zero devision is dead at this point. Then Ginjo and Tsukishima pop up and suddenly Tsukishima can pick a differend reality where the bankai wasn't broken, instead of Tsukishima's original ability, which was to slip himself into the past of people or objects .... Then his true Zangetsu's bankai was just a sheath for Ichigo's original shikai.
Like I said, it was a mess and they could had done so much more with Ichigo. because he is technically a candidate to be the next soul king by being everything (human, Soulreaper, Hollow and Quincy).

@@Talesofaweedsmoker So are Hollows. The only thing that disconnects a little would be the beast realm (Komamura), but the rest are connected as humans.
- Humans that became plusses are just the souls of the people that left behind their physical bodies. Given a reishi body at soul soceity untill their soul is ready again for reincarnation.
- Strong plusses can either find or are given an Asauchi and by learning about their spiritual pressure, they are able to transfer the spiritual pressure into their Asauchi and create their Zanpakuto and are hereby soulreapers.
- Hollows are the same human souls, but because of 1 reason or another not able to cross over to the soul soceity. This isn't a problem at first if they have a "soul chain", if the soul chain is intact they have a near-death experience, but the soul can still be saved back to their physical body (Orihime), however if the soul chain is broken the soul will no longer be able to return and this chain will encroach on itself untill it becomes the hollow hole and transfer the hunger that the chains had over to the soul as the soul turns into a hollow.
- Quincy are people that are indeed still alive, but have the capability of manipulating reishi (the same thing plusses are given to host their souls in at soul soceity) and form the reishi into weaponry and arrows. Just an assumption on my part, but I also think that the lack of reishi in quincy bodies (as they only use reishi on the outer layer of the bodies to shoot out) is the reason why hollows are so toxic to Quincies.
- Humans themselfs have no real power except to absorb some from outsided sources and then you get something like Orihime and Chad and the other fullbringers, but they aren't as weak resistend to hollows like the Quincy are.
- Then you get the mixes as we already said fullbringers are humans that were able to absorb hollow powers. - Visors started out as Soulreapers but got hollow powers added. - Arrancar are the other way arround as they started as hollows, but gained soulreaper powers.
- Subtitudes are a bit weird as there are only 2 (Ichigo and Ginjo) and at first Ichigo was a subtitude by being human, but gained soulreaper powers due to Rukia. Later on Ichigo became a subtitude again as he found his Zanpakuto while undergoing hollow transformation (he also still had his physical body right there to return too) so we as the readers knew he was 3 things at the time, being: human, soulreaper and hollow (or human and visors, however you want to call it). Later on we as the readers got to know that it's because of Ichigo's parents that he's actually all 4, as Masaki was a Quincy but on the edge of dying because of a hollow inside her (that was killing her from the inside out because of the lack of resistance that Quincy have), now Isshin had feelings for her, as they met before she got the hollow inside her, and wanted to save her, so Isshin accepted a gigai from Uruhara that would make Isshin part human again and basicly be the resistance agains the hollow for Masaki. - With Ginjo he also was human that got hollow powers (a fullbringer), but also just like Ichigo at some point got soulreaper powers when he still had his physical body. It's also why Ginjo was a close candidate to be the next soulking, but was lacking the dominating of Reishi part that Quincies have.
- Soul king candidates (or the ones that have all 4) should only be 3 and they are The soul king. As one arm was a soulreaper holding Ukitake alive (Mimihagi), one was a Quincy (Pernida Parnkgjas) and almost forgot the heart was also a Quincy (Gerard Valkyrie), Yhwach (the soul king's son) and Ichigo.

These forms were both completely unexpected and incredibly amazing.
I like Ichigo's special as the rain related to his despair. Now he is using his power to rain despair on his enemies.
I get the two of them and already finish the event quest, but really... the funniest thing yet is that Chad called Ichigo and Uryuu's voice message a day prior.

There is a mini story mode where they show how these happened. Kisuke was using an experiment to merge the powers of different being. Ichigo got some Quincy abilities of course but Uryu got some of Ichigo's dormant Quincy every and a bit of fullbring I think. But this opens up a cool set of possibilities of characters using powers of different races. Maybe what if Orihime got Quincy or Hollow powers maybe even Soul Reaper powers. Or what if we see all the hollowfied soul reapers like TYBW Toshiro.
Man, the best way to describe Brave Souls: Ten superfans of Bleach sat in a room, got extremely high, and went "What if..."

I like how we have Ichigo as a quincy but Uryuu's look is just
One if my proudest achievements in Gacha is owning Every Anniversary Character in Brave Souls as a 100% F2P Player. And the new Designs are really cool. They both really rock some strong Fashion statements.

my favorite part of these characters is how Ichigo gets that quincy garb and how Uryu "wears" his power.
I thought this was Ichigo's sternritter outfit. I would like to see Uryu's form be incorporated in his final anime fight.

i would love to hear you talk about of all the ichigo exclusive brave souls forms.
to me when I was playing the event ingame; it seemed like a small bit of each others power was introduced to one another via some sort of device and the result was their powers mutating and a general power up.
Would you ever consider doing a ranking video of all captains in the series at the point they where captains so the og captain ls during soul society as well as the post tybw captains including squad zero, urahara, yoruichi, vizards and isshin.
Personally i think Isshin is on par with or at least within reach of an Aizen during the fake karakura town arc (the level Aizen was at when Isshin appeared not transformed) the reason i believe this is, this may be anime only but during Ichigo versus Aizen in the fake Karakura Town arc, Aizen says to ichigo keeping your distance is only good against an opponent who is your equal implying he is well above Ichigo at this point yet later on when Isshin applies the same strategy Aizen says that it is a good choice which i always understood to mean that Aizen considered Isshin to be either equal or capable of putting up a fight.
Uryu's Design is good and clean, Ichigo is really a mixed bag. Looking forward for the next video
Zwinger is spelled like the number 2, basically means "forcer" as in "I force you to perform this task". Not "enforcer", which is an entirely different word.
On the in game point event they revealed how they got the power which was an experiment by kisuke
I also enjoyed Uryu's design a bit more than Ichigo's even though I will admit it was a close one. Of course I think that's probably because of the bottom half of Ichigo's design sort of felt like it took away slightly, but that was more of a personal preference on my part. I loved Uryu's design a bit more as each piece feels like it belonged and gives the feeling of a holy knight in a sense which I am all for.

It'd be interesting to see some aspects of these original Brave Souls designs in the upcoming season(s) of the anime, though I'm not expecting much in that regard.
you know in the very first arc of bleach when ichigo taped his zanpakuto on uryu's head? my head canon for this ichigo form is that instead of kisuke creating a sword that housed the reiatsu of multiple shinigami to reawaken ichigo's power, they had used uryu as a medium to absorb their resitsu and "inject" it into ichigo (or perhaps kisuke develops a special seele schneider that uryu fires into ichigo). and if it werent for uryu's description hinting at him mixing with ichigo's reiatsu specifically, then i would've also believed that uryu's form would essentially be what he achieves from enduring the amount of reiatsu he would've had to absorb from all the shinigami combined with his experiences during tybw.
For some reason it's the first time I caught this, but "Seele Schneider" meaning "Soul Cutter" - wouldn't the Japanese translation be "zanpakutou"? Lol

I don't think you thought about it, but the chain and the arrow colors. Are the same colors of Cero. It has the same red aura on it, which he could be using Hollow powers to enhancing. His new Full Bring powers.

Edit: Uryu's sword made me think of Yhwach's reishi blade. Ichigo's design mashes the Fullbring arc one with his TYBW one and adds a quincy like uniform mixed in.
There is a version of Ichigo where:
He has fully mastered his hollow powers
He has fused his fullbring, hollow, and shinigami powers
He has mastered and fused all (shinigami, hollow, quincy, and fullbring) powers together
They all look amazing
Ichigo's string might be based on the red thread, especially when he pulls and tears it similar to how he had his cut
I agree that uryu seems to have a more powered up version of his quincy powers though i add instead of ichigo shinigami powers affecting uryu it could be ichigo's latent quincy powers futher boosting uryu form that could indeed serve as his volstandig or holy form. Now regarding ichigo this version uryu's power has awaken ichigo quincy powers manifesting in this form maybe his hollow side is futher restraint but could still access his massive reiatsu reserve. In short ichigo new form is fullbring + quincy + shinigami; using a bow and arrow. Not gonna lie i do like ichigo's a tad more but thats do uryu's is better as aforementioned prior while ichigo works perfect for a what if.

It's kind of odd to see Ichigo with a bow and arrow, but pretty cool as a new concept.
The 2019 new years ichigo that they dropped was a combination of his fullbring shinigami and quincy powers and that form used a bow as well.
I like that form but hopefully the next one will be a mix between all his power with an original design.

I honestly think Uryu is supposed to look like an archangel. Also, I personally like Ichigo's design more and I'm not even an Ichigo lover. Though it's mostly because I'm a sucker for red and black. I'm super pumped now too because I got Ichigo in the first summons that they give you for free.

I think the « backstory/lore » of these characters are not as good as 3rd Anniverssary Ulquiorra for exemple. The entire story of these characters are inside the current Point Event in the game, and basically it is what you said, this ichigo is a ichigo that got affected by uryu’s power (same for him) Kisuke Urahara created a prototype/device and asked them to try it (it makes no sence + we still don’t know how the device work and how transfering shinigami powers to a quincy is possible) but this is just my opinion. The design, stats and gameplay are all amazing. Didn’t get my boy Uryu unfortunately. Thanks for your video as always Tommo !
it is based on Shinigami and fulllbring being able to trade powers and merge them together, really there should be no issue with Shinigami to a Quincy and Urahara even goes doesn't seem like Uryu is using Shinigami power need to do more check to see which part of Ichigo power was transferred implying to me it was Ichigo Quincy power
I think an alternate potential reality for how these forms would occur is that instead of Rukia stabbing Ichigo with a reiatsu sword, Uryu makes some realization about the nature of Ichigo being a human with augmented power---just like a Quincy is (there is even a moment where Ryuken makes comment on how the abilities of fullbringers--being that their augmented humans--is somewhat akin to a Quincy)---and shoots Ichigo a few milimeters away from the heart. If you'll remember, this is how Ryuken reawakened Uryu's powers after using the Qunicy Letz Stil ability. However, just as the reawakening of Ichigo's shinigami powers also brought back Ichigo's Quincy manifestation of "Zangetsu", shooting Ichigo with a Quincy Arrow would also bring back his Shinigami/Hollow powers. From there, my theory is much like yours. Uryu's arrow forces Ichigo's reiatsu to "remember" its Quincy aspect (similar to how Quilge Opie's reiatsu forced Ichigo's body to awaken Blut Vene and remember its origins) and this shapes his new transformation. The use of Uryu's reiatsu as a catalyst for this transformation forces their spiritual energies to mingle inside of Ichigo's body, so that when he transforms and this energy explodes out from him, something is awakened from inside fo Uryu as well. I'd imagine this would be similar to the meeting of Ichigo and Uryu where Uryu placed his hand on Ichigo's "asauchi" when they confronted the Menos Grande. Anyways, bloop.

I am extremely, massively skeptical despite this being my wish for the TYBW animated arc but... with all of these Kubo original designs and supervised designs of an alternate Ichigo "final" form it would be fantastic if he swapped Ichigo's final form for canon. Like I've loved all of the alt designs and would be ecstatic if any of them came up.

I was in the minority that voted for Uryu's design lol. It's just clean. Definitely gives off a holy vibe; I assumed this was something of a Vollstandig (or possibly beyond) for him.
I'm trying to get the Ichigo Quincy in Brave Souls.
