  • My trip to Campbeltown was my first solo sail to another Marina. Having spent a day with Leith Nautical in Largs Marina learning to control Sula in confined spaces and practicing berthing gave me the confidence to go somewhere new single-handed. It was a stunning sail down past Little Cumbrae, Arran, Ailsa Craig and across into Campbeltown Loch to Campbeltown Marina.
    From Campbeltown back to Largs I sailed North of Arran up the Kilbrannan Sound. Lots of marine life, dolphins, seals and a bottlenose whale.
    I look forward to going back to Campbeltown to explore when the restrictions have relaxed and maybe try out the local whisky.

    I've just come across your vids and love them. Thank you for sharing. I did my comp crew at Largs (Scotsail; great bunch) and having just completed my shore based day skipper theory, I'm booked back in at Scotsail for the practical in June. Very much looking forward to it. If you ever need a crew, please just let me know. I'm 3.5 hours away and would really welcome the experience. I'm ex-military, so I listen and learn very quickly.
    Many thanks and my best wishes to you.
    Justin

    I suspect you could do for Scotland what Erik Aanderaa has done for Norway, think about it and the enjoyment you could get from doing it. Brilliant video !

    Wow! The weather looked amazing and loving the drone footage! You should do a "cooking on a sailboat" cooking show. I'd definitely watch it! Great video Murray. x

    You seem to be as much under motor as under sail? Is that fair reflection as it must be costly in diesel? Also, what maintenance problems have you had and how did you overcome them?

      thanks George, I have been choosing fairly calm days for solo sailing so far and so there has been some motoring.

    Where is the supposed whale footage?

    • @SailingSula
      @SailingSula  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Almost certain I saw a northern bottlenose whale in the Kilbrannan Sound, too far away for the GoPro. Plenty of dolphins and seals. Also a large nuclear Submarine (on the surface) heading to Gare Loch I presume.
