LOL they made the drain plug so hidden inside a useless piece of plastic, to keep the dealers' workshop in business. Oil is only $20-25, plus filter. They'd charge you $500-800, makes more than selling cars.
Where do You see drain plug hidden in plastic? OMG . Normal 13mm wrench in aluminium bowl. YOU ARE LOL. Some Sites show that You can use also 5w30 Oil not only 0w40
Hell yeah thank you so much ain’t no way ima pay an arm and a leg to a dealership for that I appreciate this video so much. Hope there’s more glb videos to come. Been having some coolant issues as well😅
The dealer can do it but you have to pay before couple years back my 2004 C230 I paid $60.00 to reset the service reminder by the dealer. Until I did you tube search. I found out how to do it . It is easy to reset .I did it I almost due for oil change will make a video . For now there is you tube video for that
Nice detailed video! Researching the process before potentially buying a GLB for my wife. You had me a bit worried when you went to take off the oil drain plug with that deep socket, higher chance of stripping the bolt since you only used one hand since holding the camera. Would this process be very similar if it were the AMG GLB?
To go back to my question, the GLB 250 manual states 229.51,229.52,229.61, 229.71* MB-Approval. When you looked up the the oil on the website bevo.merced-benz.com you looked up the specifications under 229.5 which is a different type oil specification. Is 229.5 ok as well? Like your vids, just want clarification. Thank you!

Good video. Is there an oil light that has to be reset by the dealer?
