I did the same my friend. Married 27 years, together 32, 6 kids, moved, some VERY dark days. I relied on my friends, as I have no family. Actually I do, but during this already devistating time, I was forced to walk away from all of them except my children of course. I survived. I laid in bed for 2 weeks straight while my kids went to school and 5 minutes before the buses returning with my children for the end of their school day, I got dressed and put on what I called the sadness happiest mom face ever! My kids knew. They saw my eyes. I tried so hard to pretend that I was fine, but I failed at it. Fast forward 10 years to present day. I was single and miserable and tomorrow I am turning 60 and I am with a man for 6 years now and love him so much. I am Leary of marriage but we are happy as can be the way we are. He lived a similar relationship so we are great the way things are! Look forward my friend! Think forward, think hopeful. Feel what you need to but do not stay there. You must look forward and still live with hope. Faith is one of the best things I had. Those lonely dark days when I felt totally alone, I was never alone. Peace knowing someone still loves you more than you were being loved and feeling alive when you always have someone to talk to. It’s all worth it and more times than not, it is a blessing in disguise! 💔=❤️
Omg you got me bawling Ashley. Watching you and your family through the years in joy and laughter and so many good times to going through some of the hardest times. It just breaks my heart for you and your family but I know that God has a plan and a purpose for your pain. I write this as my life seems pretty normal but so much has happened and my heart has just been shattered by grief and loss these last few years. Your statement rings so true. We can be one day away from our lives changing forever. Time to love deeper, forgive(but set boundaries), cherish every moment- even in the pain! One quote that stuck with me for years from the a tv show(I think it was “Switched at Birth” but I could be wrong) was “ The day before your life changes forever feels like any other day” I’ll never forget that and I try to stay grateful in the now. It’s rough at times as you full well know. Prayers for all the best in you and your Boys lives and for your new start. I pray it brings joy overflowing, abundant laughter, comfort through the hard days, and lots of Jesus along the way. ❤

I’m so glad to see you on here, I have been waiting to see how you are doing and I’m so glad u you are having good days again. I lost my 18 year old son almost 2 years ago and the grief is all consuming at times but then I remind myself how blessed I am to have two other wonderful sons and a marriage of 27 years…I feel like grief and joy is literally side by side and I tell myself that my boys deserve the best version of me and it pushes me to have more better days. I know my situation is a little different but loss is loss…thanks for the update and congratulations on your new house!!

I lost my 18 year old son almost 2 years ago and the grief is all consuming at times but then I remind myself how blessed I am to have two other wonderful sons and a marriage of 27 years…I feel like grief and joy is literally side by side and I tell myself that my boys deserve the best version of me and it pushes me to have more better days. I know my situation is a little different but loss is loss…thanks for the update and congratulations on your new house!!
