@@deathspawn54 I played like 4 leagues of GSZ brews/Titan decks yesterday and Twin is absolutely still performing. Wonder how much it'll die down when the meta adjusts.
You nailed the reasons looting isn't as scary on Arena. We have reanimate and persist, no archon, no burning inquiry, no gut shot, no manamorphose, no street wraith, not cookbook/asmo
10:23 kinda big mistake not casting Exarch first and then Counterspelling, if he had FoN for the Twin you were definitely cooked with him having so many more cards 😁
Is flash a good enough reason to play the 3 mana deceiver exarch over the 2 mana corridor monitor. I know exarch is a classic part of the combo, but it's been a long time since the combo's been legal and I thought it would be right to update to the cheaper version now that corridor monitor exists.
@@nocontent4487 it's a legit play when they are on nothing. magic is not played with hands revealed, and if they just say go while having and doing nothing they ain't winning that game either way
@@Vermilio893 I take your point. I'm certainly not a very good player. But tapping out to four open mana when your opponent is pretty obviously on Twin seems I'll-advised.
39:15 I'm kinda doubtful that GSZ is gonna be like, *that* good in primetime. it's nice to grab dryad t1 but that's basically the same as casting a llanowar elves in terms of how it progresses your board state. and yea you get a little value off it from some bounceland plays but it also has SS which limits how much you can really pop off with it. paying 2 to grab a grazer is nice but paying 2 to put down a land isn't something new to green. in terms of searching your big stuff, you're paying 1 more mana over summoner's pact. being able to find an answer to blood moon for ~4cmc total is ok I guess (assuming you're grabbing rec sage or outland liberator or something). its a cute value card that will probably have 1 copy played because it recycles itself, but this is not going to break the deck in any ways it's just a little bit of extra grease for the gears. it lets the deck do more cute lil green deck things, which is nice. I think they lost more than they gained with 1ring ban, it was such a good piece of tech
If you don’t like, comment, and subscribe to Spike’s channel for the hot splinter twin content in the year of our lord 2024, I don’t know what you are doing with your life.
i like splinter twin, but not ur list. Its missing a fundamental part of old splinter, the midrange gameplan. U could win 60% of ur games with pestermite + clique + snap-bolt strategy. Here are a bunch of bad creatures, and a cosstly bolt in the form of flame of Anor.
Man I wish you could still casts cliques in modern. Unfortunately these creatures are significantly better than clique. Also flame of anor is way more than just another bolt you should check it out the card is nuts.
So it seems that kind of like last month before the ban in restricted list comes out everybody is just over the format. What if there was a rogue week or two where there's no banned restricted list just chaos
I just woke up from an 8 year coma. What did I miss?
Nothing worth talking about brother. Welcome back
Covid was fun
So first you are gonna want to google skibidi toilet
😅
Magic was briefly ruined but Spike bought Hasbro and saved it
"I shouldn't have thought you were ever wrong" 😂😅😂
That's just pure love right there.
The duality of watching spike content and enjoying spike and his deckbuilding but hating his chat and how much space they take up in his content.
Impressive. Very nice. Let's see Birthing Pod's unban.
free bridge 1st
I got chills when you first got that twin win
I have a great screenshot of you during this league. I haven't seen you smile like that playing modern in a long time :)
Post it somewhere! I'd love to see it!

That hit when you run out a twin when they tap out
People forgot about twin and it shows
@@deathspawn54 I played like 4 leagues of GSZ brews/Titan decks yesterday and Twin is absolutely still performing. Wonder how much it'll die down when the meta adjusts.
@nathana5718 yeah once people start siding for it and not tapping out
@@deathspawn54 Twin/opal being back does give me huge nostalgia tho. I'm pretty hyped.
Splinter twin! Good times 👌
11:01 HE DID THE THING!! THE TWINS ARE TWINING
4-1 with a new brew. Are you secretly MTGAIDS?
Nah he doesn't condense 2 hour videos into 20 minutes and make funny and inappropriate jokes
It might be because of my ESL, but I literally can't understand what that guy is saying. Slurring his words too much or something

Total Modern Boomer Victory
Elves, Spike...you have to give us hope! We believe in you.
I wonder if Twin will be like Dredge in Legacy where you're dead when people prepare boards for you, but becomes a tier 1 of no one expects it.
How do we feel a murktide/splinter twin hybrid deck would work chat?
How would jeskai twin (splash orims chant e.g.) with a more «control into combo»playpattern look like? Def playtesting it!
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
40:17 Am I about to splinter twin my snapcaster mage?
is a tremendous line. question of the month, surely
Splinter Twin with Pyroclasm in the board? What year is it??
Bolt snap bolt back to teir 1 baby
Hear me out, Soul Sisters with Suture Priest in sideboard

We’re so back bro

Taps enemy lands, doesn’t die to bolt(idk how relevant this is), can be don’t eot, allows for tempo like a 4 mana play of exarch into counterspell.
@sebastianwallace5593 corridor monitor doesn't die to bolt either. Same statline. Didn't think about exarch hitting lands. That's a good point.
PreOrdain is good. I take exception
Archeologist and trapper are similar cards and SAC to flare, I think that's Spikes reasoning.
@@lincolnreinert1205 yeah but twin is a combo deck, wizard version is sweat but i agree adding preordain and fomo is better instead.
@@Jimmy14797 That's also a fair statement
Skip to 10:52 for fireworks! We are so back
I agree with the not everyones playing your list comment. Some lists a pretty obvious when it comes to deck building.
As beautiful as the day we lost her
Why does Modo not just show a record tracker in the top row with all of the other info lol ?
Fithless looting in twin is possible?
Was the DRC, Bauble, Ragavan, FOMO - Twin build good? Or bad?
Does Thing ascension have any chance? It was my favorite deck before gitaxian prob and faithless looting were banned from it
Loved that deck too
Nice
How does the Splinter Win by being put on the Deceiver Exarch??
Makes infinite tokens of Deceiver, the new token untaps the original with Splinter Twin and then taps to make another token copy and repeat.
Exarch taps, makes a copy, the copy untaps the original exarch, which taps and makes a copy…
An infinite number of 1 power haste creatures.
First game was 10/10
Nice the see the unban . Definitely not enough to make me want to buy into modern ever again
Monored pheonix is Back ?
18:07 LOL
It’s hard to not call it scripted when Spike built both his deck and his opponents’ decks
And when the match 1 opponent tapped out to play Lorien Revealed in game 2.

18:00 my wife does the same stuff.
Faithless looting looks good with Tamiyo and dig when you have extra copies of Twin, and helps for FoMo
Not bad at all

Ban Twin! 😝
21 lands was obviously not right for a deck that wants to keep hitting its land drops.
Noooo not spikes baja blast :(
Can't play old decks? You can Always COPY deck types and act like it was your idea... ^^ like this guy^^
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE FRESHMAN YEAR OF HIGH SCHOOL. I AM NOW 25. SPLINTER TWIN IS MIDDDD
!decks
needs more real lands
This combo just seams like a worse splinter twin.😊

Isn't Mono-U Belcher just Twin without RedRed color requirement and only needs 1 card to combo out instead of 2?
