...very nice video, clean, steady, good sound. Yeah we have a nice airport here. Interesting to see a couple of the college logo Dash-8s here at the same time. Love the 737 in old Alaska livery American 737 in Reno Air colours?
Thanks for watching! What a perfect day for spotting it was. That one at 9:40 is painted to resemble the flag of the State of Illinois where Chicago, my hometown, is located. Was truly a most special sight to see since I haven't filmed it before yet.
have to say that's the most of that I've ever been able to smash into that short a video... Thanks for watching! This was likely one of my most successful planespotting days ever.
THNX, Mr. Sham-ROCK! Portland, Oregon sure has a great variety and I had a wonderful time filming here. I will certainly be back sometime soon to planespot with other spotters from PDX as there are many.
What a stunning compilation, buddy!! Happy to see a new spotting compilation on your channel, Quite nice traffic at PDX! Loved seeing the cargo planes, the shot of the DHL 757 tak eoff was my favorite. Big like!! :D
I try to post as often as I can... sorry about the recent shortage of planespotting videos on this channel.... been very busy touring the U.S. looking for great places to make videos from. Much more planned for future upload soon. Stay tuned!
These (relatively) smaller airports are often among the most interesting because you can get up closer to most of the action and you get things like commuter planes you don't perhaps see so often outside their home area. And lots of cargo planes too. (And some F-15s lurking in the background.)
Yawn...Air Canada express -_-Hahah, loved everything else though! The Alaska retro liveries were exceptionally gorgeous, and I enjoyed this video very much! You should come terminal-spotting at YOW one day! Delta Connection flies daily from DTW, or you could take American Eagle from PHL..but if you're feeling really adventurous, try United from ORD or EWR ;)
hehe! it's funny you say that because that's the first time I've ever filmed an Air Canada Express Dash 8 so it was quite the moment for me. I certainly plan to do planespotting in Canada sometime in the near future. I will let you guys know so we can all spot together. THNX 4 watching!
Pyro Jake big dash 8 fan here. Living in Portland and frequently flying, I have the privilege of flying the dash 8 anywhere between 4 and 14 individual legs a year!
Thanks, mate! Have to say this was one of my more successful spotting days ever... quite a few specials and some great shots to be had. Happy I was able to come through on these for you all to enjoy.
Hey boss awesome video i'll be spotting sometime around there too can i have the location of the place you spotted? And will a camera with 210mm range work there?
MR. ARHAM tH@nx 4 w@Tch!ng and sorry for late reply. This was taken from the parking garage and I don’t do pictures much but id say 210 would work decent enough...
Some airports have only decent views of the field from the parking garage but PDX has an exceptional spotting view when traffic is in this flow pattern. Licking my chops for the delicious views to be had here. I hope to be back sometime for sure.
OO.OOOPS! Oh well. I'm sure it will be back and someday even become commonplace ;) I've filmed quite a few A380s and even saw the one come to Chicago in 2007. Would've been there if I could've been :)
Sooo happy I was able to get all of these on video... PDX certainly has a great set-up and the spotting is fantastic with traffic coming and going in this direction.
Great Plane Spotting! :-) Love the Icelandair 757! :) I'm certain British Airways will fly their 787s to Portland soon. Also I believe All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines are interested in flying their 787s to Portland as well. EVA Air could possibly fly their 777-300ERs to Portland too.
Thanks for the info, Syed. Portland has an AWESOME terminal building and is one of my favorite airports on the West Coast of the U.S. Great variety and I hope it only gets better as airlines realize the potential to be had here.
Excellent ;) yep, we see those MD-11s so often in Chicago that they become commonplace but it's always cool to see it from this vantage point. THNX 4 watching!
Starting at 5:05 oh my god you caught the Illinois plane!!! I would be so happy if I got on that plane. How often does it fly. I am guessing its just good luck whether a person will get on that plane or not.
I will have to look at my San Diego video I caught one of the planes on tape for a second while inside my plane last year and I think it was the Illinois plane. I wonder if it does short trips too. Just yesterday I was thinking it would be so horrible if I was to miss my plane at the gate and see that it was the Illinois plane pulling out. Oh boy that would be horrible!! lol
I haven't been to DCA to planespot yet but a trip is in the works for this fall season... so so many planespotting videos to come hopefully as I tour the U.S. looking for great places to film. You know Gravelly Point is one place I have to visit someday soon.
+Jay's O'HareAviation Plane Spotting HD I was just at gravelly, it was great!! My vids from gravelly should be going up soon, if your time it right, you will see a bunch of special liveries!
well, thanks for those corrections :) I usually look up and research all the airplanes in the video every time to make sure I'm right on the facts but this time I was a little busy and made a guess or two :D Thanks for watching closely. Hopefully you enjoyed the video?
haha! and you do realize that Alaska Airlines in the major airline providing service to Portland.. kinda hard not to include a good amount of them in this video.
...very nice video, clean, steady, good sound. Yeah we have a nice airport here.
Interesting to see a couple of the college logo Dash-8s here at the same time.
Love the 737 in old Alaska livery
American 737 in Reno Air colours?
kyotokid4 many cool airplanes to see that pass through often at this airport. Thanks for watching!
...sure thing, hope to see more.
Fantastic compilation Jay, it was a beautiful day too! The Southwest aircraft at 9:40 has an interesting livery.
Thanks for watching! What a perfect day for spotting it was. That one at 9:40 is painted to resemble the flag of the State of Illinois where Chicago, my hometown, is located. Was truly a most special sight to see since I haven't filmed it before yet.
That is quite the selection of interesting catches and special liveries for a 15 minute video! Great footage as always
have to say that's the most of that I've ever been able to smash into that short a video... Thanks for watching! This was likely one of my most successful planespotting days ever.
Awesome! More of our little airport :)
Thanks for watching! I hope to go back and planespot with all you guys from the PDX crew eventually.... was talking to planesguy earlier.
Yea I saw. Sure thing, let us know next time :) And hopefully Issac will be back as well.
Also, I'll probably have lots of time between late August and late September. So if we want to meet up, I think that'll be our best chance.
PDX Aviation - HD(ish) Plane Spotting Works for me!
lots of special liveries and freighters included here, stunning footage!
Thanks for stopping by, mate! Love sharing these videos with you guys.
Excellent video and sounds Jay, great catch of the retro Alaska and my favorite, the MD-11!! Many thanks for sharing.

Lots of fantastic catches here! Talk about a wide variety of aircraft! Great job :)
The Illinois Southwest and the DHL were my favorites... yes indeed. Many aircraft types showcased here... more videos to come soon.
Yay Jay!! A new video thanks for sharing as usual.

Great to hear! I've been lucky enough to have flown on it twice myself.
Its such a special feeling being in such a unique plane.
Epic variety as ever mate!

Nice job man, some great views from that spot!

yes PDX is a bit unique in that way especially when there's some good traffic
Very good, enjoy seeing PDX.
Thanks, Mr. AV!
Great spoting jay! It's unfortunate you couldn't catch the a380 on Tuesday. But I narrowly missed it as wrllz
OO.OOOPS! Oh well. I'm sure it will be back and someday even become commonplace ;) I've filmed quite a few A380s and even saw the one come to Chicago in 2007. Would've been there if I could've been :)

Looking at N918WN on FlightAware I see that it's all over the U.S. a lot. I'd love to fly on it as well someday... and hopefully make a movie!
I will have to look at my San Diego video I caught one of the planes on tape for a second while inside my plane last year and I think it was the Illinois plane. I wonder if it does short trips too. Nice video! At 15:28 I saw that aircraft land on runway 4 at LGA. I filmed it land.
AWESOMEness!
I subscribed to your channel by the way.
Ian Tasch subscribed back :)
Great video! Didn't know that Southwest still had planes in service with their brown color scheme.
THanks! as far as I know they only have one and it's that one as a special historic livery... Very lucky to catch it.
7:38 a DHL airlines yellow livery
Amazing spotting
Liked!
THanks for watching!
In 2015 there was a Russian Antonov sitting at the airport. Don't know what they were using it for though.
I think I saw it there as well in early 2016. It flies in and out at various times of the month I guess. I have seen it flying out of there in past.
Saw it 2 weeks ago

2 mistakes; That ACE Dash-8 is operated by Jazz Air, and that Icelandair 752's registration last letter is K.
well, thanks for those corrections :) I usually look up and research all the airplanes in the video every time to make sure I'm right on the facts but this time I was a little busy and made a guess or two :D Thanks for watching closely. Hopefully you enjoyed the video?
UPS Boeing 767
To much Alaska Airlines. Otherwise, good video!
haha! and you do realize that Alaska Airlines in the major airline providing service to Portland.. kinda hard not to include a good amount of them in this video.
It was just my observation. Take it for what you will.
