Nahi ye thodasa wrong he agar 300*700 ka coloumn he toh only we less clear cover which is 30 mm not 40. if any rcc consultent provide 40mm cover then only we have to appiled on it. And dont less 4-4 mm with both sides wo bhi galat ho jayega. Isliye e.g agar 300 ka colounm he na to 300-30-30=240 aur 700-60=640 Thats why cutting length is 1240+480+50mm=1770 and the 50 mm we added is the triangular bending which we provide in 5 times in one rectangular ring.

As per IS code Clear cover is 40 mm in column
Beam -25mm
Slab -20mm
Shear wall/ Retaining wall -30 mm
