With most music, even the complicated(like Kansas), drums are the carry or filler. Our focus is elsewhere. Rush seems the only music where it's sound extends from drums as the center. Seeing you play this reminds me that their songs could not work without the drumming exactly as it is. The slightest drum change would be analogous to a lyrical or riff change, and everything would collapse right there.
Sir!! A time of comment this video has 34,000 views and is 4 years old. About 1,000 of those views are me. Equipment differences aside, if I'm not mistaken, this is beat for beat perfect. Exactly as delivered by The Master himself. Bravo my friend! You truly are a god. ✌️❤️🤘
4:04 is probably one of my favorite parts of any rock album ever. 2112 is in the top 5 ever produced in my opinion for sure. Its Dark side of the moon level to me. He only does 2 of those in the whole 20 min song. The 2nd one is probably the best to me. I love the way he slows it down. Awesome cover!! You were on point and covering one the of the best in human history.
You killed it. Love seeing a Rush cover when all the nuances of the drum style are duplicated and making them sound better. The Professor is smiling. Keep up the great work. 🤘🏼🥁🤙🏼
I just came across your channel Kyle.. You are a true talent.. Its a safe bet to say you have thousands of hours behind that kit.. Amazing dude ! Any rock n roll outfit would be honored to have you on the skins ! Rock on !
I made my wife watch it. The 2 rolls in the beginning of temple? So sweet! I was cheerleading the whole time. It's fun because we (viewers) can see where you're focusing HARD and then where you're smiling and jamming. That look between 2112 and temples was priceless. It's a little different than the other vids where you're just cheesin' and jammin' the whole time. Love it. SO fun. SO good. SO stoked. 🤙😉
Holy sh...crap! I AM IMPRESSED!!!! Neil would be proud! Just came across your covers of a couple of Motley songs, thought I'd give you a try, then saw you cover this one. I'm not a drummer, but I am a Rush fan of 40 years, so I pretty much know what the drum parts sound like. I'm definitely hooked now. If you've got the balls to try covering Rush, I'd LOVE to hear you take on Tom Sawyer. Bring it on, man!!!!! The challenge is on! I've subscribed, so I'll see when you do.
Stumbled upon a few of your drum covers, great stuff! As well as being a great player you look like you're genuinely happy playing! Great job, new subscriber for sure!
WOW!!!!!! If Geddy and Alex need a Drummer to replace Neil, RIP.... Your the man. I think Neil would approve. I can see that your really enjoying it too... Bless you... Rob J... A 60 year old wanna be a good drummer...
This was awesome! So I'm learning drums, so I apologize in advance if this seems like a silly question and everybody but me knows the answer...lol...but why do you have your two toms above your hi-hats, as opposed to above your bass drum in line with the rest of your toms?
OMG Peart , the master, lives! He’s smiling down and approving. Trust me.
That "Wooo!!" at 1:58 says it all!
Very well done! 👍🏼
lot of balls going for rush cover but man.... you knocked out of the park
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL excellent job loved it👍
Thoroughly enjoyed this!

Great playing. What materials do you recommend using to learn this song, such as sheet music etc.? Is there a drumless version that you recommend?
688 views??? Damn this is awesome ... I feel you...last week I cured cancer and did a video w the details... 3 new subs
Rush should make a tour with this guy.
No sweat!
This was awesome! So I'm learning drums, so I apologize in advance if this seems like a silly question and everybody but me knows the answer...lol...but why do you have your two toms above your hi-hats, as opposed to above your bass drum in line with the rest of your toms?
He probably likes the ride in that place. And like this he can still have 4 toms
Just the way he probably feels comfortable and his own way of set up,we all like our own way of a set up to play
i think he went by neil peart setup look him up
🤟
Damn this kid is good.
