Look at you goin' on vacation and wastin' all yer money at comic shops! Always interesting to see what comics rock other folks' socks. Not fun to re-experience the nostalgia of stuff we had but no longer due to a period of hard times. I was never a huge comic collector, only around 10 long boxes after buying and reading after 40 odd years but there are a few titles I used to collect and no longer have (and will never reacquire) and all that's left of that is 3/4 of a long box. Most of what you snagged here I would pass on now since my days of buying comic books are over; however I would have to grab that Tarzan Family since I loved those and really enjoyed Korak's adventures in those, most likely the Cadillacs & Dinosaurs and Xenozoic Tales. Possibly the Magnus Robot Hunters (never collected, read them at the barber shop as a kid) but always loved the painted covers. Would have to flip through the Western titles to verify that Kirby was on art duty - if so I'd snag those as well - you cannot beat vintage Kirby westerns! Also, being in another state - I would HAVE to ask the owner/proprietor/clerk if they had Femforce back issues - just to see their expression as the lobsters started crawling out of my ears.😃
I asked about femforce comics at a shop in North Carolina and the young man at the counter actually knew what I was talking about! He said they dealt with them occasionally but they sell out immediately. I was just shocked he knew what I was talking about. I’ve sold things many times and reacquired them later. (I’m on my 3rd complete run of alpha flight) Sometimes things come back and that’s ok and sometimes they don’t and maybe that’s for the best. I try not to cling too tightly to things or places anymore because I know that can change. It’s hard to identify as a comic collector anymore when the only new books I ever get are AC Comics and I feel like the mainstream companies haven’t produced a book worth reading since about 2000. Had a nice vacation though.
@@antonimobay7334 Back in the day, when I was a store manager and had a product that sold out immediately, the next time I ordered that item I upped the quantity - because nothing's worse as a retailer than having an empty product slot - nothing worse for a consumer than an empty product slot. I'm going to go out on a limb and assume they were just filling subscription boxes and not actually ordering product for the shelf, which is reserved for the 25 Batman titles that sit there collecting dust. Glad you had an enjoyable vacation and didn't get eaten by a shark.
