- We are really enjoying our day in Juneau, Alaska!! Despite the rain, the day has been spectacular!! We decide to do just a little more shopping... kidding there are such great deals we do a lot of shopping! But the time has come... and Jason is ready for his Duck Fart shot from the Red Dog Saloon! So off we go. This place is so unique! It is one of the oldest bars/pubs in Alaska and has so much character. Jason has, um several, duck fart shots, some good Alaskan beer and some yummy food!!

Bar tending in the Interior of Alaska paid for my last two years in obtaining my bachelors degree, and for the most part, it was a lot of fun. I cannot tell you how many duck farts I served. It wouldn’t even be crazy to state I had served at least one during every shift. We made it with Caroline’s rather than Baileys, which was cheaper. However, we did top it off with Crown Royal, always. Plus, ours only costed $4.25 each.
Loved your black, Alaskan hat, it was adorable and looked great on you. I’m so happy you are all having lots of fun in our gorgeous state. 💕

I like how Jason needed a beer chaser with each shot to begin with, but by the 4th and 5th one he was using the duck fart as mouthwash. Haha
I went on an Alaskan Cruise in May 2006 on Celebrity Cruises, stopped in Juneau but wasn’t able to go to the Red Dog Saloon, a year later we visited Juneau(I had a chance to have a beer there at the Red Dog), Gustavus & the Glacier National Park... All Amazing 🤩

@@EECCTravels I went on the same itinerary as y’all did but we had airline issues and actually never made it to anchorage to start the cruise, we were flown to Juneau(which we enjoyed for a day and 1/2 driving to remote places while we waited for the ship which we finally boarded Sunday morning to finish the cruise in Vancouver. that’s the reason why we went back a year later to see the Glacier Bay National Park, we stayed for 3 days 2 nights at a lodge in Gustavus which is near the Glacier Bay(all paid by Alaska Airlines) because of their mishandling of our previous year fiasco. Thank God it all worked out & it turned out to be another beautiful Alaska adventure

When we were there in May I shopped at that discount store while my husband was at the Red Dog having a duck fart!!! Lol. I also shopped at the top of Mt Roberts too. We went to Mendenhall glacier, on a whale watching excursion and ate the most delicious food at Tracy’s crab shack! Very busy but fun day!!! Love Alaska!!
I was born in Alaska but we left when I was 2 this is on my bucket list for my husband and I too do. It looked like y’all had a fantastic time I just love watching your family so much!
It has been 40 years since I was in the Red Dog, but it really hasn't changed much at all. My wife and I are scheduled for a southbound Alaska Cruise August 28, 2020 and Duck Farts are in my future. Great video.

I'm glad you guys had a very nice visit to the Red Dog Saloon, they haven't changed much since I last was there, I am curious if Jason ever tried the Rainier Beer? It is one of the long time beer of the Northwest they are located in Alaska and Washington area. Did you know there is a movie about the Red Dog Saloon back in the 70's called The Timber Tramp with Claude Akins, They are often found on the Amazon.com and other vendors. Other than that I 'm glad you are enjoying your visits to Juneau, Alaska. Now you know what it takes to make The Duck Farts can be made at home too.
I did not try the Rainier beer i stuck with the Alaskan lager!
We were in Alaska for the first time in May of 2019. Oh these videos are making me miss it so much. Dang it all though....we never made it into the Red Dog.

Great video. Brought back memories from August we were there and at Red Dog Saloon. It was sunny and nice the day we were there. We saw about 10 eagles flying up by the tram. We are going back next September, already booked. Thanks for sharing
I LOVE this bar. It's my kind of place. :). I had the best time there laughing and cutting up with people and requesting songs. It's like my Pat O's in Alaska. Cannot wait to go back one day!!

Skagway… oh Skagway… our first ever cruise was to Alaska.. (that made us hooked on cruising) we did the Red Onion Saloon tour with Annie.... AnyWhichWayYouLikeIt…. fantastic tour. We go back to Skagway in May 2021 and want to do the White Pass Rail.... cannot wait!
Watching y’all vlogs of this trip just made the desire to sail to Alaska on the Bliss stronger so booked for Oct 2021! 660 days away but so excited!

The best part of Juneau is Mendenhall glacier. Too bad you guys didn't get to see it. It's spectacular.

Those duck farts sound like a B52 a shot that is found in Ontario. The only difference I think is that the top layer he said was whiskey were we use Grand Marnier

So sad y'all were not able to make it to Tracy's Crab Shack; however, the Red Dog Saloon is the original so how can you pass that up! Not sure how our group is all gonna fit in there and get our 100+ duck farts, maybe we can reserve a section :)

When I went on that cruise the only thing on my list was the Red Dog. There were I think six ships there. I had to sneak in the back door (in the gift shop) used the facilities and that was the only seat available. So bum!
We always get a box and fed ex our presents home. Not fed ex but USPS
IF YOU LOVE THE RED DOG IN JUNEAU WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO SKAGWAY. THEY HAVE HOOKERS HANGING OUT THE WINDOWS CALLING MEN AND YOU HAVE TO GO THE RED ONION SALOON. YOU WILL LOVE IT. GO TO THE ALASKA T SHIRT COMPANY AND GET AN ULU KNIFE.

I wish I could do my Alaskan cruise all over again. We hopped on a bus and went to Mendenhall Glacier and then back to the ship. We had no idea there were shops and restaurants close by. Guess I should’ve done better research.

Great video series guys. Brings back memories of our 2009 Celebrity cruise. Seems more to Mt. Roberts at the top from when we were there. We also did the Red Dog. Didn't have duck farts but knocked down some nice cold Alaskan Amber. Keep em comin. Great vlogs! 👍👍👍

Do they serve duck farts on the ship? Great video!
Depends on the bartenders and if they are willing to take the time to make them! Since its a layered shot it takes a bit more finesse so that they don’t mix while layering! I taught a couple of the bartenders how to make them for me and one dude in particular could knock the duck farts out perfectly very quickly every time!
As always, I love your videos. I am a bit curious about what Jason and Alissa do for a living. I'm guessing Jason is a machinist or welder. Alissa is in the education or medical field. I myself am taking my second cruise of the year on Saturday this week. I work as an engineer with a defense contractor to support the efforts of the US military to f$%k up the bad guys in this world. I love the fact that your oldest son decided to join the military, we need more like him. Hopefully the twins will follow your oldest son into military, or if not become a craftsman into the engineering or skilled trades path.
