To be honest 3lbs is like a baby snack, I would atleast need 10 or 20lbs to satisfy my appetite. The worst part is not the price but its frozen for a year🤔 your in Alska let's get some fresh meat it there. Out of all places Alaska would be where you go to get fresh seafood.
Born and raised in Juneau. Of the Tlingit nation. Haven't lived in Juneau in 30 years but I was a commercial fisherman for salmon. Like salmon you have a small season to catch crabs. I can only guess for the freezing but probably to keep up with the demand. Also note this year is the first year the whole crab season was cancelled. Imagine the price will now only go up.

My wife and I just got back from an Alaskan cruise and loved it! We sat at the same table as you at the Alaskan Brewing Co.! 😂 I agree, if you love crab you have have it in Alaska. In Ketchikan, at Crab & Go they serve it cold, which, as they explained, is the way to eat it to get all the flavors. I would agree, the flavors are more pronounced when served cold. Both, hot or cold, are amazing. The beer from the Alaskan breweries are great. So many choices. Beer lovers will be pleased. We happened to be blessed w great weather our whole trip. Great video.
I’m sorry but your $200 by the time we add our exchange rate equates to $400 for us so there is no way we would ever pay that for such a little amount of anything. Such a shame as a tourist port that their main draw card is out of the reach of people not from North America or Canada.

I was looking forward to Tracy's when our ship arrived in Juneau... I was a very disappointing visit as we waited in a long line and only the Bartender was taking orders for Food & Drinks.. There were 3 other employees there and they looked like they were burned out and didn't care took their time..... People waited a long time for food.. we just left as we only had a limited time in port... maybe it was the end of the season .. we were there 2nd week of October 2022
First time seeing this channel, but I do have to ask. Why freeze it for a year? Isn't it RIGHT THERE where they catch them? I mean I can get Frozen King Crab here in LA year round, and if frozen correctly, doesn't matter if its frozen a month, six months a year, etc. Just a serious Q.
@lifewiththecibs we went on our first Alaskan cruise and looked for this place. Didn't find it. We were to busy on an excursion. We just returned Sept 2 2023. I wish I had gone there!! Weather was perfect though. Only slight rain in Glacier Bay area.
We were there in June, blue skys 70 degrees. We were at Tracy’s #3 in line at 10:30 when they opened. We then took the tram up the mountain followed by helicopter dog sledding. It was a Great Day
I was there and got 1 pound of legs ,crab cakes as soon as I bit in the crab I said this isn’t fresh , I’ve had fresh KING legs in Florida at trulucks for the same price it was 10 times better
I actually went To Juneau Alaska on an Alaskan cruise. Fell in love with it got a job there. Then later took a job in the interior of Alaska near Fairbanks. Just to get from Juneau Alaska to Fairbanks. I had to take a 4 hour fairy to Haynes Junction. Then I had to dry for 12 hours physically leave Alaska go in to Canada and then back into Alaska just to get there.
Would you pay this much to eat some good king crabs?

FYI, 3lbs of Red King Crab in Miami, is $230+. You got a good deal, as it is expensive everywhere and Alaska is an expensive state.
