Really cool build. I was using your old AP Trickster Build before, that had Time Rift, Hunt The Prey and Temporal blade with the Trespasser set bonus. But back then I swapped out Temporal Blade with Twisted Rounds and added the Instant Reload mod for Hunt the Prey. But I have used Twisted Rounds wrong all this time since I didn't stack up my Anomaly Power before activating it. I just activated it immediately. My current build before I watched your latest video also used the Shieldbeast set, but I used Venator's knife instead of Hunt the Prey along with Time Rift and Twisted Rounds. Your new build is actually a hybrid combo of my modified version of your Trespasser build and my current Shieldbeast build with some much needed improvements. Definitely gonna update my build to match yours. This guide is definitely gonna help me improve my Trickster.
Snapshot AP to Twisted rounds is the best discovery ever. Melts everything even when you just do time rift + hunt the prey + melee then slap twisted rounds for that snap shot but of course even getting 1 crit after that rotation doubles the twisted rounds damage if you snapshot that, you have 10 seconds to do it otherwise just repeat the cycle twice and then snapshot with twisted. You don't have to they all just die anyway!
Well done sir! We were def on similar paths with our builds. However, I didn't realize you could double dip like that. That explains why my dmg output was so inconsistent during test. Knowing that is a game changer. Thank you.
You really covered all bases of this build and Great tip on resetting the pax tree I’ve had to do it a few times but all in all this video is spot on 🎯!
I’d really like to make this build, as trickster was my primary class in the base game, but it’s a tough go early on with this class in the expansion. I ran my Technomancer through to Apoc. 30 first and didn’t realize how broken AP Techno really is until I switched to Trickster. Survivability is the main factor, at least early on in the expansion, to why Trickster gets outclassed by everything else. Update- Having now made this build I can say it’s amazing. Easily the most fun but takes a while to really get going and to get the correct drops. I ran Venitor’s Knife for a while until I got pieces with apoc mods I could work with, the switched to Time Rift. Still needs some work on my part but it melts solo and can hold up when underleveled in a full party. AP Techno is my go to for farming mats and whatnot because it’s mindless and fast, but this Trickster build is actually fun to run and round with. Bonus if you get Phantom Dash as your dead mod, which ads go the fun.
I have tried the terminal velocity and maxwell demon build if you build on top pax tree and run enough cool down reduction you're mostly immortal except for single boss fights because you can always generate shields and keep twisted rounds up with htp. The problem with these builds is they're built on firepower and they nerfed firepower into the ground. Those builds are totally survivable and do ok damage but they're out-damaged by pyro and techno easily. It's kind of sad the terminal velocity build is super fun to play if you wanna min/max it's a no go
Nick, you have outdone yourself here. This build is absolutely fucking nuts. I put together a scuffed build, and even at level 50 AT16 (barely played Trickster), I was doing 5-7m crits on the boss. Insane build.
Thanks for showcasing this Nick. With all the hype around turret technos and popcorn pyros its nice seeing trickster get some attention. I never put any time into trickster but if I ever do I know what to look out for 👍
MAN this is what we needed , i faceroll everything now. This build made me do 4 times as much as i used to. Edit: x20 what i used to that i got snapshotting right.
They have such a great base game and mechanics, builds, diversity, loot, gear. Problem for me is. There just really isn’t any variety to what you do with all of it. Wish they could find ways to bring more content variety. Even if it means what Destiny and the Division do by taking story content and missions and inserting new levels of difficulty and loot into those areas. Right now it feels like playing a demo over and over
I've been trying to theory craft a build like this as I've been getting back into the game, glad to see I was on to something and can't wait to try it out once I get a few more shieldbeast pieces.
I’ve been playing with this build and I love it I do not have mages rage I’ve been trying to get it but I still do over 20k after snapshot and I’m not even geared good at all can’t wait till I get geared properly and get mages rage

I swapped in venator's knife for time rift and the hive cut mod was doing some wonky damage. might be worth checking out. Otherwise this build is fantastic :)
Yeah I've been having it happen, 'can't teleport behind target'. I think it's because when enemies are behind cover, their back to sorta lined up with what they're hiding behind, and it tries teleporting you behind them, which in turn would force you to collide with a wall
I gave up with my Trickster build. After 25 hours I was still strugling at early tiers, and couldn't defeat the boss. While I killed fast, I always got stopped by Berserks and the freeze. 90% of my deaths was being freezed and couldn't do anything. Switch to my Technomancer, and changed to a very unoptimized version of your build. Went through the campaign without deaths. Completed the trails on my first attempt, and has never failed a trail. It was such a big difference. In the beginning I was killing a lot slower then my Trickster build. Especially elites, but I didn't die anymore. Bersker couldn't stop me with freezing, because the turrets kept me healed through skill leech. I need to try this build, as I invested so much time with my trickster.
@@ImCDKaay Doesn't melee has a cool down? And berserks will constantly swarm you as they almost never attack alone. In that first room for progress you will constantly have a bunch of Beserkers around you. It's very anoying with trickster. Never a problem with Technomancer.
@@ghosface353 yeah it has a cool down but there's equipment that can help that. I use trickster as well so I can relate to getting swarmed. Typically just bait them close together and hit them with the blade
Swing Poynt made a SUPER underrated video on damage stacking for mods and skills a long time ago. Probably still applies unless the devs changed anything since then.
same build i'm trying to make work but i keep forgetting i need to build up my ap before activating twisted rounds. kinda sad the set comes with venator knife mods though. same with travelocity set, it comes with borrowed time mods.

@NickTew Have you tried or thought to go for 2 more armor piercing nodes in top tree instead of AP in bottom? The thought is if you rock NRATF+UF you get 10% back in AP on top of 20% RP which seems like a combo which will allow you to hit harder unless there's some cap or diminishing returns to RP. Lmk your thoughts.
The only reason your even getting that high of damage is cause of Dark Sacrifice, I have everything but dark sacrifice and not nearing your dps, so this depends on lick of you even get that roll
This build slaps, i personally use venators knife instead of time rift though, ive been playing with my friend and hes 8 apoc levels above me and i was still doing the dps even with around 3 dead mods, thankyou for the sick build
This is an excellent guide for the Trickster however people that make these guides miss very important points concerning platform usage. For example the author is clearly playing on a PC. It is far more difficult to get continuous crits on a console unless you use a keyboard and mouse on your Xbox or PS. Also that video is incredibly crisp. I was on my Xbox fighting that boss and there was fire and movement obscuring the boss's head which makes critting even more difficult especially if in a group
Since we can put any armor or weapon mod on any piece of gear and put it in the stash to take out on an alt and dismantle, I WISH they would give us a quality of life patch and make mods are auto unlocked on ults or just unlocked account wide!
My final penance with a dark sacrifice apoc slot that has been sitting in my stash since release will finally get used. once i get enough extract to actually level it up XD

This is funny. Main Tricksters complain because they think this class is apparently trash now in Worldslayer. All classes are good. The problem is they are lazy at the moment to create and testing different builds. With your build, i remembered a very similar build for firepower pyromancers in Outriders New Horizon. The key is put tons of anomaly power and use those 2 weapon mods that you mentioned. Indeed firepower pyros in Worldslayer, can use this method. Im main Techno and i want to test pistols with the new legendary Trigger Twitch set as soon as possible. Thanks for the content 👍
thanks so much I was so annoyed all these tankier classes were doing so much damage and the squishiest class, that you would figure would be more rewarding due to that, just had no builds on equal footing to the other 3
was curious about supercollider. It wouldnt help in a boss fight but for giggles would be interesting to see if it was a separate multiplier that calculated after all others and added 25% damage.
bruh I was trying to make something similar on dev but no anomoly rounds ruins it. This build looks nuts, and now I need a trickster. Since you already have god roll shieldbeast stuff, you wanna try popping that set on devastator bottom tree and see how it fairs?
I don't get it, I copied this build ALMOST 100% and I am not melting bosses like this....ONLY thing i am missing is Dark Sacrifice and a couple other mods that aren't even related to Firepower or Anomaly. I am getting wrecked....not the bosses. I am playing Tier 40, but that shouldn't make a difference, armor and weapon scale up with levels. I mean, at level 40, you see weapons with 1M firepower. My Anomoly power is 3.8M
Could you perhaps do a shotgun variant of this or is the deathsheild embalmers rage crit build dead? Great video btw..might be switching over to assault rifle with these options
While I do feel a bit squishier than my older meta build when it comes to picking off the random shrimps running around, oh my God...this thing shreds bosses. I may have been in the final boss fight for about 10 seconds. I was still firing after he died because I didn't even know what happened. Maybe the squishiness is because I'm used to HtP and getting in close with a shotgun for the little guys, but for the bosses? Absolutely disgusting.
I just started playing the game and picked trickster I love it, I’m using the slow trap, teleport behind enemy, and the bullets one, I really love the slow trap one is that gonna be an issue?
Triple earthquake go brrr. That’s all you need for dev with the pax tree (bottom half, top of the 3). Use grav leap with dispair before using quakes. Add status etc where possible for more damage etc, the pax tree makes the earthquakes stack on each other. You’ll be hitting 40m-60m on your 3rd quake on apoc tiers 22-25
hey nick. i have a question, i used ur older trickster build for outriders and got catched by the character crash that happened to many players, so i deleted that character, now i am interested in starting new as trickster, is this build just good for endgame or would you recommend it for leveling up 2? i guess it would be difficult to play without the "right" gear, so what i think now, is that build would be better if i had farmed that gear and then copy that skillset?! :) Oh and sorry if my english is hard to read, have to say i am german, and my time in school is way over 25 years in the past ;)
Watched a friend recently 2-shot the final arbiter with an AP devastator using boulderdash and gravity leap, Apoc Tier 18. This after 1-shotting the second to final boss during his opening, and literally everything else as well. He won't show his full build, only link a video that he 100% isn't following exactly, and I have no idea how he can output that much damage.
The Pax tree node Terms of Engagement is broken off host and doesn't reset Boulderdash's damage. It just infinitely stacks, and if you stay in the same lobby, it will continuously increase. A level 1 player (or whatever min level is required to unlock Boulderdash and Leap) could theoretically one shot an AT40 Arbiter after doing it long enough.
im running temporal blade cyclone slice borrowed time anomaly trickster build they need to buff cyclone slice, they need to nerf all fire power builds an anomaly power skills that can do long rang or buff the ones an things that dont do that cuz the fire power an long rang build run throw alot quicker an they have more mods
You didn’t mention max health stat increases your maximum shield potential also a purple burst double gun beat the tac ar higher crit multiplier but great vid I can’t wait to play my main trickster again didn’t start with it think it was gonna be weak
Seen a trickster build one shot the final boss in trials. Spectral spike was over a billion damage. Not sure how that build is working. This is a nice build tho. Got shield maiden as my third mod on my gun so always full shield built up.

I use venetors knife so I don't have those dead slots. Adds some nice crowd control with the damage share, and extra damage to elites too

Ok so I’ve been stubborn and didn’t wanna give up my shotgun trespasser trickster….finally gave up at AP29. This shieldbeast is a blast to play!

Nice, Trickster was my #1 before the expansion, now it can be good again.
For Gloves I got the Cannonball set piece. My third perk was great cause its the one where close damage range is extended by two meters.

Is Hunt the Prey broken for anyone else? Having lots of issues with it teleporting when enemies are in cover, but definitely within range.
Yes, they must have changed the mechanics. Hit them with Rift first which seems to help.

Yeah I’ve been running into that too. Also have times when my skills lock and can’t do anything but run til i die. Prob one out of 20 tune it happens

Can't you just melee when you get frozen? And it'll break you out

This build looks sick with time rift. I always wanted to play trickster and now its on lol
was curious about supercollider. It wouldnt help in a boss fight but for giggles would be interesting to see if it was a separate multiplier that calculated after all others and added 25% damage.
bruh I was trying to make something similar on dev but no anomoly rounds ruins it. This build looks nuts, and now I need a trickster.
Since you already have god roll shieldbeast stuff, you wanna try popping that set on devastator bottom tree and see how it fairs?
I don't get it, I copied this build ALMOST 100% and I am not melting bosses like this....ONLY thing i am missing is Dark Sacrifice and a couple other mods that aren't even related to Firepower or Anomaly. I am getting wrecked....not the bosses. I am playing Tier 40, but that shouldn't make a difference, armor and weapon scale up with levels. I mean, at level 40, you see weapons with 1M firepower. My Anomoly power is 3.8M

Could you perhaps do a shotgun variant of this or is the deathsheild embalmers rage crit build dead? Great video btw..might be switching over to assault rifle with these options
While I do feel a bit squishier than my older meta build when it comes to picking off the random shrimps running around, oh my God...this thing shreds bosses. I may have been in the final boss fight for about 10 seconds. I was still firing after he died because I didn't even know what happened. Maybe the squishiness is because I'm used to HtP and getting in close with a shotgun for the little guys, but for the bosses? Absolutely disgusting.
I just started playing the game and picked trickster I love it, I’m using the slow trap, teleport behind enemy, and the bullets one, I really love the slow trap one is that gonna be an issue?
do you complete the bottom of the skill tree first? Or do you just pick one from the bottom and then one from the top as you get points and so on?

Triple earthquake go brrr. That’s all you need for dev with the pax tree (bottom half, top of the 3). Use grav leap with dispair before using quakes. Add status etc where possible for more damage etc, the pax tree makes the earthquakes stack on each other. You’ll be hitting 40m-60m on your 3rd quake on apoc tiers 22-25
This set needs some non bullet mods. Would be dope playing something that isnt a bullet build for once on trickster

hey nick. i have a question, i used ur older trickster build for outriders and got catched by the character crash that happened to many players, so i deleted that character, now i am interested in starting new as trickster, is this build just good for endgame or would you recommend it for leveling up 2? i guess it would be difficult to play without the "right" gear, so what i think now, is that build would be better if i had farmed that gear and then copy that skillset?! :) Oh and sorry if my english is hard to read, have to say i am german, and my time in school is way over 25 years in the past ;)
Watched a friend recently 2-shot the final arbiter with an AP devastator using boulderdash and gravity leap, Apoc Tier 18. This after 1-shotting the second to final boss during his opening, and literally everything else as well. He won't show his full build, only link a video that he 100% isn't following exactly, and I have no idea how he can output that much damage.

Watch Moxy's vid on it where he does a billion damage. Something about if you are not host, the skill bugs out and keeps stacking
The Pax tree node Terms of Engagement is broken off host and doesn't reset Boulderdash's damage. It just infinitely stacks, and if you stay in the same lobby, it will continuously increase. A level 1 player (or whatever min level is required to unlock Boulderdash and Leap) could theoretically one shot an AT40 Arbiter after doing it long enough.
It's possible with out using bug.

im running temporal blade cyclone slice borrowed time anomaly trickster build they need to buff cyclone slice, they need to nerf all fire power builds an anomaly power skills that can do long rang or buff the ones an things that dont do that cuz the fire power an long rang build run throw alot quicker an they have more mods

Hello How you can get Arm and Armor with that you want? Do you use a character with bad level and reroll the store?
this is similar to mine...but I adjusted it a little different so I don't have to worry about shield too much
I like the trickster, but I've always felt it lacks damage compared to other classes.

You didn’t mention max health stat increases your maximum shield potential also a purple burst double gun beat the tac ar higher crit multiplier but great vid I can’t wait to play my main trickster again didn’t start with it think it was gonna be weak
Bruh you are telling I don’t need the death shield now. I have been farming that since the start of the game.
Is there any possibility to make a real GOOD pistol / dual pistols trickster build? And what about the martyr set compared to this beastshield set?
Seen a trickster build one shot the final boss in trials. Spectral spike was over a billion damage. Not sure how that build is working. This is a nice build tho. Got shield maiden as my third mod on my gun so always full shield built up.
