100% true- thinking that you’ll finally learn it and it’s what you needed is a scarcity mentality that limits you. Instead think I don’t need it, I want it. There’s always more and I’ll never reach satisfaction so I might as well keep growing forevermore
Ever since I switched over to SMC my trading has evolved exponentially but I first had to fully understand my past strategies and understand risk management. I wish you the best of success.
The only thing you need in forex is consistency and risk management. SMC, Retail, Indicators and so on, is just a retail trader way to make sense the chaos. As long as you have good risk management, it's all good. TradePro even made a video where he used a totally nonsense strategy where the color of the candle in the opening of London is the entry. Green means he buys, red means he sells. Its still profitable thanks to good risk management
Well it depends on your environment and the players involved. In Asia they use motorcycles as a mode of transportation not as a mode to express your manhood as in the west and most of time you can’t go very fast in Asia vs UK. So it’s not as bad as u think but like you said having a protection stop loss is better not having one and just trust your instincts. You need to have both.
Also a tip, do the exercise in trading in the zone last chapter, and you will instill the beliefs and mental skills needed to trade profitably automatically
I don't know why am so addicted to your videos, even with my last Data Subscription i have I must download you TH-cam videos offline...Nice and great contents Hannah and enjoy your Vacation...kudos
You've just reminded me about that book I've always wanted to read. "Trading in the zone". Consistency is key in trading and it's left to our belief system to carry it through to completion.
Trading in the Zone changed my life. It made me less insecure about how I trade, being that I'm a scalper and have always felt envious of swing traders that could consistently lock in 2R, 4R, 8R (!) trades while I chug along scalping quick 10-pip 1R trades (lmao). Knowing and sticking to your edge and just allowing the probabilities to play out is what matters. The heck with you elite 8R traders! hehe j/k. Great video!
See your jealousy is visible. Start with ignoring what others do and focus on just what you have to do. Your scalping because it's quick and satisfies your need for a quick outcome. Scalping has limitations...reduced Reward is one of them. Stop scalping for just a week. Learn day & swing trading and automatically you will see the rewards stack up. Literally you will start scaling in trades which will raise your effective reward N times for that one trend. Scalping gives no benefits, just turns you into a hungry monster. Once you do...you will realise with more time before a trade the more time you have to think and identify better trades.
@@borntodoit8744 Hmm. What you said is an example of why I used to think negatively about scalping but you have to realize that it is a valid approach and a discipline in itself. Professional scalpers exist and the very best ones trade the same way as the best swing & position traders do. That is, they do it objectively and with discipline. They don't do it because they're "hungry monsters" but because therein lies their edge in the market. Btw, there is a lot of misconceptions about scalping. I am from the Bob Volman/Al Brooks school of thought and always look for 10-15-pip setups that could last a few minutes to a couple of hours. I don't do 1-2 pip setups like many do as the math is against you insofar as the costs (commissions) are concerned. Btw, you could also scale in while scalping; it's called scalping some more :). I like intra-day trading so scalping is really a great fit for me. No need to check on my open positions when I'm done for the day (I don't have MT4/5 on my phone!). Scalping is quite fun actually when you accept it's downsides (e.g. leaving money on the table, you live and die by your win rate as it should be >50%, etc. etc.) I have a strategy similar to Hannah's EURJPY strong impulse/breakout strategy where she enters pullbacks. Very simple but those are the highest probability setups, bar none.
@@borntodoit8744 Yeah, this is just not true. The markets are fractal, and any set up you can find on the higher time frames you can find near-enough on the lower time frames. Trading lower time frames is more difficult mentally due to the time elapsed, but you can mitigate that by using processes and systems to reduce workload. As an example, I only trade one pair, so my decision making process is about the same speed as a swing trading process that looks at 5 or 6 pairs. I take a few trades a week, which is not that different from swing trading multiple pairs. Banks do swing trading, long term position trading, and scalping (as little as 1 pip targets using algos). They are able to be moderately profitable across all three. While I agree that swing trading is generally less stressful, especially strategies where you only look at charts once a day for about 30 minutes, that doesn't mean you can't take steps to reduce the stress of scalping and be just as profitable.
@@number5isalive107 I agree with you! Scalping is profitable and legitimate, but some people treat it like a slot machine which gives it a bad reputation. Also, I learned a lot from Al Brooks too, even though his books are super hard to read. Got some critical insights from them that formed the basis of my trading even to this day.
Been watching your videos from your early days on here, your life has changed so much, how do you do it. Cant seem to ever get consistent, just stuck in one just endless cycle.
OMG Hannah. This video was something I needed to hear. I have read Trading in the zone sometime ago and you have reminded me of that quote. Consistency Start with just doing less per day. One trade a day. Force yourself to restrict to just one trade a day and you will automatically start looking for the best trade (and by action educating yourself what not to do). Amazing it works...building on patience you do improve.
