Yeah, that was the only part I found unbelievable. Like, 16 years of continuous apocalyptic death and destruction would likely stamp out any remaining vestiges of that. Considering Future Trunks has such a different personality and mindset from his Present self, Future Gohan should be the same.

Because the story needed to happen but funnily enough all that’s needed to prevent a scenario like this from happening is just saying Babba died. If she’s dead the entire scenario falls apart as her powers are literally the glue that holds this story together.
Already Popo not getting ignored like King Kai and the dead Z Fighters would change this all, especially not Neo Namek (already the Namekians Dragon Balls) getting ignored. Sadly this great story needed to happen, and I love how at least the Special showed and actualized the still living family, friends and broader Z Fighters, struggling just like Gohan, Trunks and Bulma. Chichi, Ox, Roshi, Puar etc, those parts were gems.

I feel like goku would have achieved ssj2 in the afterlife with 17 years of training seeing as he went from ssj grade 1 to ssj2 and even 3 in around 8 years. But the story was still great and I have no complaints, keep up the amazing videos Carthu!
I think it was more like 11 years, right? 1 year between the fight with Freeza to meeting trunks (while in grade 1 ssj), then three years to the arrival of the Androids, then seven more years until the Buu arc. So yeah, 11 years to get from SSJ 1 to SSJ3.

I think this is a fantastic story up and could be a great 'Sequel/alternate' to Dragon Ball Z. Gohan would get his true arc like they CLEARLY were setting up in the original story. This would allow a fresh take and not be limited to stories we have already seen. This would COMPLETELY change the story and you could create new threats but with a hardened Gohan and Trunks as the main characters making things VERY different as a DBZ story. Fun stuff Carthu.
You should have had a heartfelt scene of Goku reuniting with Future Chichi before his first & last time in the living realm was up before Gohan & Trunks went in the hyperbolic time chamber. It would have been very wholesome. 🤧

the thing that makes me truly angry with the end of the zamasu arc is that the UNIVERSE is gone. No otherworld. No beerus, just nothing. That means that future goku, piccolo, tien, krillin, gohan and THE KIDS THAT THEY WERE TRYING TOO PROTECT FOR THE ENTIRE ARC are just ERASED. I'd say that was the worst thing too ever come out of dragon ball super.
People do a lot of what-ifs that are completely outside of the characterization in Dragon Ball. Carthu does a good job of keeping characters as themselves
The original dragon ball timeline is where Cell kills future Trunks ,hijacks his Time Machine and travels to the past to bury himself underground with the goal of world of domination.

Performing the ritual would grant the person access to this wealth of benefits, from youthfulness (prime of their lives kind of thing), immortality, regeneration, and inexhaustible ki. As long as the person honors the contract, those powers are granted to them. Maybe there could be a limit to how long the contract sticks or how many times one being can accept it, maybe even some demand of a duality so rivals would be needed for the ritual to succeed. That could be fun. Might have a fanfic in the making here...

There is logic, you just have to think more about it. And it's pretty simple, Gohan probably didn't have the time to train to get stronger like everyone else because at the time he was the only hero left, and because he most likely was trying to save people from the Androids constant rampage. He didn't know about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, nor did he or Bulma know where New Namek was. He also didn't know there was a level beyond Ssj meaning he probably didn't know he could get stronger than he already had. The only option he could think of at the time was training Trunks and hoping he's able to take out the Androids one day. It's not bad logic, it's just a long list of bad luck that Gohan had for not being prepared against the Androids. The real logic that should be questioned is why Goku didn't do this in the first place.

There's something I have never understood about the Future Trunks timeline and the timeline we know: why did Babidi appear 7 years after the Androids arrival whereas in Trunks ' s timeline he appears much later? Shouldn't Babidi have appeared whilst the Androids were destroying the Future timeline?
Not enough energy on Earth to revive Buu I guess. Babidi only showed up in the main timeline when he did because he was working more openly to revive Buu and that let Supreme Kai find him. It probably took Supreme Kai a lot longer to find him plus needing to spend more time gathering energy to revive Buu with most of Earth's population and nearly all their notable fighters gone.
I like to think that Babidi came to earth at the correct time, saw that earth was ruined, took buu's egg to space and tried to gather enough power to revive him, Shin was hunting him so Badidi was forced to come back to earth in order to avoid Shin and that's when Shin found Trunks, trained him etc.
I always wondered why goku never tried to help future gohan and trunks. He could've asked baba to revive him for one day and taught them how to master super saiyan form. This what if is exactly what should have happened.

So about brerus I think because of the lack of sayins in the future timeline he went to the strongest sayin being broly. But with more sayins in the future timeline like what happens in the what ifs he would go to where the most sayins are and thus the battle of gods happens kinda because there’s not enough sayins to complete the ritual but whis might train them
The problem is Future Goku lost his body because he died of natural cause rather than battle so if anything , Future Goku can't help unless he keeps his body , as for the Androids , as soon as Goku hears about the Androids , he will immediately teleport to King Kai Planet and ask Papa to give him a one day pass , Goku would only need a few minutes to finish the Androids , locate new Namek , and tell Gohan about the room of spirit and time , and maybe bang Chi chi to make sure that Goten is born , once all the Z Fighters are resurrected , they train non stop to make sure something like that never happens again , a few years later , the 25th Tournament begin , Goku comes to visit and the events happens exactly like the original with Elder Kai granting Goku his life and Goku defeating Kid Buu , which would lead us to either Super or GT continuity but since Future Pilaf and Shou are dead then there's no GT and it's about Super.
I just love how people still don't understand the Power of the SSJ forms, but Carthu does After getting Grade 4, the Initial Power Boost is still x50, but like Grade 4 allows, they can then Power up to the Very Max of SSJ, double that with x2 by using SS2, then x4 that Power with SS3 initially, but then go Max Power with SS3 too, as the Full Power of SS3 is much stronger than the Initial Boost of x4 Inbetween there is also Trunks's Stronger SS2 state that gets the SS2 Power close to SS3 Levels, then if the needed Rage is there, they could evolve their SS2, like Vegeta, to become much more Powerful than SS3, even if your Base is weaker than the Base of the SS3 user, hence why Vegeta in his Evolved SS2 was stronger than Goku Black in SSJ in the Manga And after having the Powered up version, getting the Evolved state, that Vegeta kept in the Manga, how about now going SS3 and then the Max Power of SS3

They can increase their power by just training base and multiplying it with transformations.

Buu Saga: Was a lame ass superhero who slacked off, got his energy stolen like a loser, then became important for 5 minutes because of an even worse deus ex machina only to be absorbed

the thing that makes me truly angry with the end of the zamasu arc is that the UNIVERSE is gone. No otherworld. No beerus, just nothing. That means that future goku, piccolo, tien, krillin, gohan and THE KIDS THAT THEY WERE TRYING TOO PROTECT FOR THE ENTIRE ARC are just ERASED. I'd say that was the worst thing too ever come out of dragon ball super.

With that option, couldn’t you wish for anyone protecting the planet to be granted instant regeneration or an inexhaustible ki? Heck, you could make it so anyone who accepts the title and responsibility of earth’s guardian is immortal until they betray their station or retire, in which case the immortality is stripped and they ahead normal.

Fair enough. Maybe some medallion or ritual could unlock the guardian contract, which itself is a magical item that the dragon created for this purpose. Performing the ritual would grant the person access to this wealth of benefits, from youthfulness (prime of their lives kind of thing), immortality, regeneration, and inexhaustible ki. As long as the person honors the contract, those powers are granted to them. Maybe there could be a limit to how long the contract sticks or how many times one being can accept it, maybe even some demand of a duality so rivals would be needed for the ritual to succeed. That could be fun.

Normal Shenron granted immortality to Garlic Jr., he can do it. That even continues into super with Zamasu wishing himself to be ‘truly immortal’.
If immortality is possible, the. youthfulness should be simple in comparison. Inexhaustible ki has never been offered, I’ll admit to that.

I dont get it fr, Gohan had so much potentiel, he litteraly survived for 17 years and couldn't take down the androids, there is just no logic in this anime
It would have been better if the androids were training as well just to keep moving the end goal.
There is logic, you just have to think more about it. And it's pretty simple, Gohan probably didn't have the time to train to get stronger like everyone else because at the time he was the only hero left, and because he most likely was trying to save people from the Androids constant rampage. He didn't know about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, nor did he or Bulma know where New Namek was. He also didn't know there was a level beyond Ssj meaning he probably didn't know he could get stronger than he already had. The only option he could think of at the time was training Trunks and hoping he's able to take out the Androids one day. It's not bad logic, it's just a long list of bad luck that Gohan had for not being prepared against the Androids. The real logic that should be questioned is why Goku didn't do this in the first place.

Yeah, but that doesn't happen for some reason. The best attempted explanation is that Gohan is too tall for Trunks to make the alignment even. But even that's a stretch as their height disparity is less than Goku & Vegeta's.

There's something I have never understood about the Future Trunks timeline and the timeline we know: why did Babidi appear 7 years after the Androids arrival whereas in Trunks ' s timeline he appears much later?
Shouldn't Babidi have appeared whilst the Androids were destroying the Future timeline?
Not enough energy on Earth to revive Buu I guess. Babidi only showed up in the main timeline when he did because he was working more openly to revive Buu and that let Supreme Kai find him. It probably took Supreme Kai a lot longer to find him plus needing to spend more time gathering energy to revive Buu with most of Earth's population and nearly all their notable fighters gone.
I like to think that Babidi came to earth at the correct time, saw that earth was ruined, took buu's egg to space and tried to gather enough power to revive him, Shin was hunting him so Badidi was forced to come back to earth in order to avoid Shin and that's when Shin found Trunks, trained him etc.

I always wondered why goku never tried to help future gohan and trunks. He could've asked baba to revive him for one day and taught them how to master super saiyan form. This what if is exactly what should have happened.

I saw this premiere but I was busy so couldn’t watch :(
So about brerus I think because of the lack of sayins in the future timeline he went to the strongest sayin being broly. But with more sayins in the future timeline like what happens in the what ifs he would go to where the most sayins are and thus the battle of gods happens kinda because there’s not enough sayins to complete the ritual but whis might train them
They should've made the wish in the room of spirit in time they would've had two more wishes while training

The problem is Future Goku lost his body because he died of natural cause rather than battle so if anything , Future Goku can't help unless he keeps his body , as for the Androids , as soon as Goku hears about the Androids , he will immediately teleport to King Kai Planet and ask Papa to give him a one day pass , Goku would only need a few minutes to finish the Androids , locate new Namek , and tell Gohan about the room of spirit and time , and maybe bang Chi chi to make sure that Goten is born , once all the Z Fighters are resurrected , they train non stop to make sure something like that never happens again , a few years later , the 25th Tournament begin , Goku comes to visit and the events happens exactly like the original with Elder Kai granting Goku his life and Goku defeating Kid Buu , which would lead us to either Super or GT continuity but since Future Pilaf and Shou are dead then there's no GT and it's about Super.

I just love how people still don't understand the Power of the SSJ forms, but Carthu does
After getting Grade 4, the Initial Power Boost is still x50, but like Grade 4 allows, they can then Power up to the Very Max of SSJ, double that with x2 by using SS2, then x4 that Power with SS3 initially, but then go Max Power with SS3 too, as the Full Power of SS3 is much stronger than the Initial Boost of x4
Inbetween there is also Trunks's Stronger SS2 state that gets the SS2 Power close to SS3 Levels, then if the needed Rage is there, they could evolve their SS2, like Vegeta, to become much more Powerful than SS3, even if your Base is weaker than the Base of the SS3 user, hence why Vegeta in his Evolved SS2 was stronger than Goku Black in SSJ in the Manga
And after having the Powered up version, getting the Evolved state, that Vegeta kept in the Manga, how about now going SS3 and then the Max Power of SS3

SSJ are just multipliers. They can increase their power by just training base and multiplying it with transformations.
