@@beaumcnally6358 I have a love/hate relationship with D’Vorah what makes me dislike her is that she’s known for killing off popular characters but what I like about her is her design powers and abilities and her devious nature

Dude yessss. I am a huge fan of D'Vorah, I think exploring her species would add so much to the MK lore. Her physical attribute are pretty awesome, and I'd absolutely love to see more Kytin to see if she is representative of her race or if she's different. Like do they all refer to themselves as "This One"? It would be awesome to know
@MrAlopex112 but in this video you see hee meeting someone from the hive and fighting them? So she's not controlled by the hive and can make her own opinions ?
So... In Hebrew "dvorah" literally means "Bee". However my friend interviewed the developers and they actually had no idea. They were very stoked to find out they nailed the naming of this character 😂
They probably worked around the Latin term "vor" to make up some horrible monster that eats people, later being stoked that they accidentally named her "bee".
Well, D'Vorah *was* a cool character when she first debuted, but good lord did NRS make the MK community absolutely *despise* her by making her untouchable in the narrative and giving her WAY more plot relevance than she really needed to have.
She'd be a far more sinister being if she was composed of cooperative arachnids... not only spiders but all arachnids, from dust mites to scorpions as well. And there are communal, colonial, spiders... not all of them are cannibalistic. She wouldn't have typically flying bugs and body-horror larvae, but she would have spider silk and even pretty much cell-sized critters as a living mass that can let her snap back together and even form body armor on top of have a far wider variety of poisons because of her collective sapient hive-mind. I'm a bit biased because I was an AD&D hobbyist since the 80s and I had an arachnid type colony creature similar to her in my home brew stuff. Most of my players considered it nightmarish. This Mortal Kombat character gives me a bit of nostalgia because of that.
You mean the C.I.F.A.L.? Yeah, I'm also a longtime fan of D&D, the "Colonial Insect Formed Artificial Life" was interesting, though I always thought it was wasted potential.
@@briancorvello3620 No, but thanks for giving me something to look up! My homebrew was arachnids. At first, it was my fascination with ants and reading up on them and how they handled "stupid spiders". Then that got me to look into spiders, which led me to look into all sorts of other arachnids. Then I learned of cooperative colony spiders which lived in trees and how some arachnids were so tiny they were actual microbes, then that led me to, because I was not only spending lots of my school time in its library, I was also getting pretty heavy into AD&D. It started off as my "spider mummy", which was an arachnid version of a zombie, held together by webs, adopting other arachnids into their cocooned corpse for cooperative work, even replacing the flesh with purpose-assigned arachnids. That, two campaigns later, became my Arachnid Cluster, which can seem to be any animal, or any scary mockery of one. I could go on, but it's a bunch of my work from around 1989-1992. Now, I can (once I look it up), make my beastie as a natural enemy (or even frenemy?) to a local CIFAL. Total mind-candy! Thanks!

9:40 At least she offered to share! Lol Seriously, I sometimes wonder if D'Vorah was created in an attempt to prove a female character could be popular without making her look like an exhibitionist supermodel, but IMOHO, she proved that such qualities were not needed to become a Mary Sue. Big problem is, killing TWO long-running fan-favorite characters didn't help her popularity much.

The big issue with those two is that they WIN NOTHING, its hard to take either of them seriously when they never win a fight, D'vorah actually was booked properly in terms of having credibility so a win over her actually means something

Oh my God, I have to see these comics! This should all be MK 12, in like 3 parts!!!!! Where the hell is 12? They make 10's of millions on these and it's been years? Bring everyone back in a massive story, JUST USE THE COMICS! HOW AWESOME would that be? A three part video game based on the entire comic series?
