This is not the Ye Olde Lions. This is a team with talent and the coaching staff who knows how to use it properly. It is a thing of beauty to watch this team play. Hopefully the defence is improved enough to take the Lions one more step.

This is the main reason it's not the same old Lions. They have FINALLY built an offensive line. I've been saying this for at least 25 years. If we don't have an o-line, it doesn't matter how good our skill players are. They will always have inconsistent play and they will always fail when the games are most important.

This video gets me fired up. Never used to be interested in o-line play but the last 3 years that has completely changed. Idk if people realize but Sean McKeon might be the best blocking TE on the Lions now. They've built their roster to crush opposing defenses at the line of scrimmage. So fun to watch.

Appreciate the breakdown fellas, should be plenty more great O-line play upcoming this year from the Lions.
Two new lineman the Lions drafted will be fun to watch. Giovanni Manu the 6’ 7” 350 lb Tongan monster from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver CA is an absolute unit. Christian Mahogany who Brad Holmes said had some Dirtbag in him I’m sure will end up providing some good highlights.

Although I’m not the biggest Goff fan, you also have to keep in mind how graceful he is. His feet and his little sleight of hand tricks his does, fools LBs all the time. And ends for that matter. Little head movements, open his hand to show he’s handed off the ball when hasn’t. Very, very subtle things to get people to bite.

In today's NFL wouldn't those numbers actually signify they are a running team? I don't know, maybe I am traumatized by all of the Lions coaches in the past being absolutely pass crazy like Marty Morninwheg, Mike Martz, etc. Just don't go look up who our QB's were in those times, or you will come to the cold realization that those men are idiots.

@@innerspace56 I agree with your analysis, tho Idk if it makes them a running team though. I understand where you're coming from, but their still pass first... I'd almost call them more of a balanced offense vs run or pass heavy.

I absolutely LOVE to watch them play, they are all so selfless and team oriented that even a team with more "Talent" cannot beat them because it is just so foreign to these defenses. The volume of info coming in verbally could be given substantially more impact with concurrent markup. Not the same old Lions, but their O Line is aging - in comes Zeitler at 34, Decker is turning 30, Glasgow is turning 32 - and Goff is now the least agile QB in the league. Both the Packers and Bears dominated the Lions late in the season, and even the Vikes with Nick Mullens dominated time of possession 35 to 24, and outrushed the Lions 89 (Ty Chandler) to 70 (Gibbs & Montgomery) in week 18.
There were some worrying signs for the Lions that many folks are choosing to ignore.

It’s ironic. For 20 years the team wastes picks galore on linemen. They lose games, struggle to win, waste more picks on the line and repeat.
Holmes comes in. Drafts Sewell. Drafts Hutchinson. A blue chip prospect and a LDE. Then stops and drafts LBs, TE, DBs and even a RB highly and…..wins.
Fans still want a litany of linemen. Holmes seems to understand the line can only do so much without guys behind it who ALSO stand out.
I wish more fans could admit him keying in on other areas is what’s made a massive difference. But that would mean they’ve been wrong the last 5 decades screaming about how all you need us guys up front.

    • @LionsOnTheHunt313
      @LionsOnTheHunt313 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

It's not that they picks were wasted on positions Tommie, they were wasted on the wrong guys most of the time.
You can be dominant in the trenches and get away with less in other areas. Or you can have amazing skill players and maybe not have a stellar line.
Or you might get by with average talent but amazing coaching & development.
For the last 3 yrs the Lions have picked the "right guys", regardless of position.

Maybe you guys can answer this but why is it in the NFL that some plays look so staged for instance if you watch the Jameson William touchdown against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game it literally looks like football Follies like all the sudden players are running the wrong way players are falling down they can't tackle, they're grabbing for the towel on his way instead of us trying to tackle him by his jersey.
