As a Lions fan, I can confidently say that hiring Ben Johnson is a bad idea. He steals candy from babies and eats it front of them, yelling, "haha, nananana boo-boo. I'm cool and you're poo-poo. I get the candy and I'm feelin' dandy!" Definitely not head coach material.
You got about 10 more weeks and a playoff game or two and that’s about it. You can’t keep the head coach and the coordinator when the coordinator is that good
I don't think he will leave until he finds an opening with the traits he wants. He's not going to a full tear-down build. Zero chance for the Giants, Cardinals, Commanders, and a few more. I think his perfect spot would be Seattle after Pete Carroll retires.
I know Ben Johnson will probably get a head coach job in the off-season but us Lions fans are praying they find some way to keep him, even if they have to make him the highest payed OC in the world, we think he's worth it. He stayed last year despite being highly sought after for several teams. Please Ben, the city of Detroit and all Lions fabs love you, stay and help make this the greatest franchise in the NFL, just think, from worst to the best
@KevinT7274 Yeah it's kinda interesting how Warner was FAR and away the best player out of the 3, but the worst at presenting it. What's that old saying?...Those that can't do, teach. Maybe more nuance in that old adage than I thought.
I like your comparison to Goff in the SB and comfortability, he is actually a much better QB then he was then but he is very comfortable with this system and has complete trust in his team to execute at a high level. One Pride
Never had any interest in watching sports talk and Monday morning QB videos but you guys just reeled me in. Very straight forward, informative, educational content. Watching you guys, I see the field and the setup more clearly now. Unfortunately, I'm watching the Buffalo Bills but I'm wishing the best for Detroit fans this season. They deserve their team's success.
He been a coordinator for 2 seasons, and people think he's ready to be a head coach! Being a headcoach is a whole different level than drawing up plays for an offense we don't even know if that suites him.
Colt would make a great playcaller and maybe head coach one day. He’s seen it all, is smart af and has the respect of the players. You can’t hate on this guy. Good dude.
Only my first time watching. Love your analysis of the plays, and explanation of the sequence. Made understandable. Thanks for that. I have heard that Goff is a real student of the game, here I can see it more clearly what he is doing. You ask yourself, for example, in the GB game, why is Love unable to get a play off the ground. Then, similar script in Tampa Bay with a far more experienced QB. Then the contrast with Goff, and his check-offs are so automatic and fluid. Detroit rarely give their opponent the perception that they are not in complete control. The team is in sync. The rarely make a mistake or a penalty. This is not the Detroit we are used to.
Excellent show. Leaving too soon for head coach job has often become - the kiss of death. Try winning some playoffs and maybe a super bowl first ,it may be the only time yer able to do so in your career, and then go satisfy your ego. Apparently we have some clairvoyants here that seem to “ know “ he’s gonna leave after this season. Would love to see another excellent in depth analysis on what the heck happened in Baltimore
That throw by Goff on 3rd and 4 is pretty insane. Looks off the LB and throws it around the D lineman's ear while his feet are sideways and it's got heat on it and is perfectly thrown. That is ridiculous. You cannot defend that.
I think it was smart for him to have waited. He was a hot commodity before but now he might be the number one target for a bunch of teams. He deserves his shot, although it’s always rough to see one of your good coordinators leave.
love craig reynolds. hes probably not fast enough to be on any other nfl roster, but he always provides 100 percent effort. i like that campbell has rewarded him for that by keeping him on the team
First time seeing this channel. What an excellent video. One of the rare times that 29 minutes flew by like it was 2 minutes. Outstanding analysis and I am so happy the Lions are playing so well.
If I'm the Chargers, Saints, Panthers or Cowboys already set with their QB's or teams drafting a young QB such as Chicago, Washington or Minnesota I am BACKING UP the Brink's truck to sign Ben Johnson as HC! Pay that man his money!
I just realized that Craig Reynolds had that play in the 1st game against Tampa. And was "randomly" in for that touchdown in the Playoffs against Tampa?
I hoping that there is enough other candidates to fill the jobs this year with Harbaugh and belicek out there maybe lions can keep him one more year.... fingers crossed
Detroit executes motion after the snap as well as every team tries to. But what do I know? If most teams use that term and define it, they would be more efficient on offense.
All this is…. Is others hate that we, The Detroit Lions, have a guy like this. So therefore, they don’t want us to have him. Because we’re, The Detroit Lions…. So now, everyone wants him to jet to their team’s. Ben is at least here for two more years…. Smoke on that.🤔 It’s not even halfway through the season, but everyone wants to see, Ben Johnson somewhere else. Hater’s…. But people still fail to realize, that being a great O.C., doesn’t make you a great H.C….🤷🏾♂️ These Damn youngin’s, damn “Microwave Generation”…🤦🏾♂️ #OnePride✊🏾🦁💙 #InBradWeTrust💯
Also flip the screen and give us a rundown on Tampa Bay and what they're doing because obviously they're meeting tomorrow in the divisional round again. I'd like to know how Baker Mayfield has gotten better and is now leading that team
Not head coaching material. Great coordinator, but he better stick to that. It's why he pulled out of the interviews last year. He knows his limitations. Maybe down the road, but not for at least 3 years.....
8:01. Not saying it wasnt a great throw, but I think that' clearly the wrong choice right? He has the first down basically for free throwing to the at the 42 and elects to go for a few more yards, but with a much higher chance something goes wrong. Or maybe that the right call. If that goes wrong arent we talking about how he passed up the wide open wr?
Keep your filthy mitts off our coach! Though it should also be said that if/when he leaves, the Lions have guys in system who can step up to replace him
Why can't you guys just leave people where theyre successful? Over, and over, and over again these coordinators fail when they're forced up into a head coaching spot. Completely different challenges. I wish coordinators stayed coordinators and we'd have more good football teams in the NFL.
Great break down, but I am a lions slappy. Lol. So many years of shame. This team is young, disciplined and very hungry. Great to see the lions roar instead of whimper Lol 💪
Lions win this weekend if we can open the playbook up, target Jamo, defense pressures Purdy into bad throws and making them try and pound and ground. 32-28 Lions
Its ok your team doesnt need Ben Johnson. All of the decisions are made by Campbell. He draws up the plays and runs the offense. Same with the defense. You guys dont want our coordinators. Its all campbell. Trust me. You dont want them. Trust.
He’s not a good fit for any team out there, I guess Detroit will have to keep him. Cmon man we finally get something good going and people want to pillage our coaching staff cmon really?
Where does it show that Ben Johnson is good head coach material? Most of us think he is a great OC, but isn't that something you could say about a ton of OCs? It doesn't make them great head coaches,
If you could share the show with ONE FRIEND we would really appreciate it! Thanks for watching
Everyone who watches and doesn’t want their secret out: 👀
Done and done.

Definitely not head coach material.
I've also heard he doesn't replace the toilet paper when it runs out.
Sounds like you should fire him then
@@eugenepoon and let him loose on the rest of the world? No way! We're keeping this menace to society contained to Detroit. It's for the best.
I heard he's never once called a dog a "good boy"!
@@DWargs He therefore belongs in a siberia-like NFL city, I hear Buffalo can keep him contained in exile
The mere thought of losing Ben Johnson keeps me awake at night. Shelia please pay the man a king's ransom.
Tanner Engstrand is his understudy. It'll be ok.
He’s gone for a HC job next szn buddy sorry
You got about 10 more weeks and a playoff game or two and that’s about it. You can’t keep the head coach and the coordinator when the coordinator is that good
Yup. Same
Hey hey. You just can't think like that buddy. We're gold man
As a Detroit fan I know we can’t keep him, but stick around until you can add “led lions to super bowl to his resume”.
I don't think he will leave until he finds an opening with the traits he wants.
He's not going to a full tear-down build. Zero chance for the Giants, Cardinals, Commanders, and a few more. I think his perfect spot would be Seattle after Pete Carroll retires.
@@GulNadarI think Ben Johnson is going to who ever gets the number 1 pick so he can get Caleb Williams
@GulNadar he's coming to the commanders
The front office is going to get picked through too.
That block by Reynolds’s epitomizes the current Detroit Lions
I have seen like ten different angles and it hasn't stopped paying dividends
Fucking preach it brother
Play of the year so far....and I mean it. That was "Kneecap Eating" in a nutshell.
Amen.
Yup. Also sad that "effort" is such a rare thing across the league.
Goff is playing amazing!
Better than ESPN by far! 😂 Great video series.

Colt's a natural at this.
Odd how sometimes players that weren't that good when they played turn out to be great analysts.
He's good. QB School (JT O'Sullivan) is better tho. But he's def better than Kurt Warner, and Warner is employed by the NFL!
@KevinT7274 Yeah it's kinda interesting how Warner was FAR and away the best player out of the 3, but the worst at presenting it. What's that old saying?...Those that can't do, teach. Maybe more nuance in that old adage than I thought.
Cadence is so important in so many ways
Ben Johnson… you are a Washington Commander! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
First time in my lifetime being a Lions fan I can come these comment and talk shit and back it up.! Thanks Coach Campbell and company.!
I like your comparison to Goff in the SB and comfortability, he is actually a much better QB then he was then but he is very comfortable with this system and has complete trust in his team to execute at a high level. One Pride
As a Lions fan can y'all shut up about Ben Johnson? We're trying to keep that man as long as people.
Not every offensive coordinator should be head coach. Just let this man do his thing here in Detroit!
Not every offensive coordinator should be offensive coordinator.🤣
@@KevinT7274 facts 😂

Leave Ben alone! Detroit gets to have nice things now! He and the missus just had a kid, they're settling in, they don't to be uprooted!
Thanks for the breakdown it makes the game even more enjoyable
Just found this channel...best analysis channel bar none
CM does a great job on the break down!!
Opened my eyes to how important cadence is and how it can catch the defense off guard!
Don't do it. Rumor has it that Ben Johnson kicks puppies and puts ketchup on his steak.

I heard Ben Johnson has an IQ of 75. I heard the new players have to teach him the system. He's awful. No way any team should hire him away.
I agree 100 % Whatever it takes keep Ben Johnson for at least 2-3 more years
Josh, this was such a great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Somebody give Colt a coaching job..smart man he saw it coming when most refused to look 3 months ago! #onepride
Great vid guys
You don't want to hire Ben Johnson. I heard he kicks puppies and pushed an old lady in front of a bus
😂😂😂
Ben has been known to dress as Santa during Christmas and steal gifts from under trees, do not hire this man.
Nope nope nope. Detroit is going to pay Ben Johnson HC money to stay in Detroit! (I'm coping).

NAHHHH HE HATES KIDS AND DOGS.
Should just leave him in Detroit.

Killer vid! Wow, I knew the lions were doing well but seeing the why behind it opens my eyes.
Thank you for the hard work in putting this together!
Colt would be a great QB coach in Washington with Ben Johnson as the HC
DVE 🎤 DROP 🚶 walks off
Too bad Ben Johnson kicks puppies for fun :/ guess he’ll just have to stay here who else would want thay
Superbowl contenders have playoff experience. The Lions are not that. But they are balling out and will be playoff contenders, for sure
Ben Johnson ain't going nowhere homie. Let's go Lions!!
Montgomery played for Bears last year. Misspoke
Ben Johnson has been studying the Kyle Shanahan book of West coast offense.
Welcome to the commanders Ben Johnson.

I heard Ben Johnson doesn't give up his seat to old ladies on the bus. All other NFL teams should definitely stay away from him (please)
Why is it that when the Lions start winning the mainstream is all about tearing it down

So now ppl should understand why the lions drafted gibbs.u put gibbs on that screen and it's a touchdown.thats what you want from gibbs.
