Thanks Tobias. Perfect knives for whittling. I thought my collection already finished, but these knives can open the list again.

This is a fantastic knife series. The color on the bone is great. I bought the coke bottle after watching your's and Slipjoint Sawyer's videos on it and couldn't be happier. Thanks for sharing these wonderful knives.

This series has one of the best designed scales, they look like stained playing cards, thanks for showing them, Tobias.

I really like this series. The bone and spade give them an old west vibe. And I dig the unusual patterns. Yeah, the pulls could be a little lighter. I hope they make these in other covers at some point. Love that they are under $20!

Very nice, but mine all have beastly blade pulls. There is one more currently out, the Doctor's knife.

    Hi Tobias:
This is a beautiful series. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet because I’m waiting on the easy opens to be released first. Super nice. Thanks for showing. 👍

I really appreciate your thoughts on these, buddy. I liked that bit of info about all these patterns being from the early 1900s, to me that makes them extra cool! Also thanks for the closeup of that tang stamp in the slide show. And "turtle head" is a very fitting name for that blade shape. Now I won't be able to unsee that.😆🐢

This series seems to be made very well for the most part. Certainly you have shown that RR can make a great knife. I've seen a couple folks that have had a problem or two with the sowbelly pattern but overall, like you, people seem to like them. Thanks for a excellent review Tobias.

The Senator is one of my favourite patterns. I have 4, all by Arthur Wright in Sheffield. Coincidentally, the first one I had was a pre-Harrison example and one of the major faults with it was a very light tang stamp!
The Intern has the same issue as my GEC #62 twin blade. Incidentally, my #62 has a Wharncliffe main and a pen secondary, in traditional Wharncliffe pattern, but in a Congress frame.

I think arthur wright replaced the tooling as I too have a number of older knives with indistinct tang stamps, the more recent ones I have all have very clear tang stamps.

The more I look at this tang stamp the more I think it’s very intricate and this is why you can’t make it out without magnification. I need to compare it some of the other ones.

Nice looking knives worthy of a 30 year anniversary.

I have absolutely loved the knives that I have gotten in this series. I agree the tang stamp is not consistent and usually weakly struck. But on the other hand can't really complain for the price point. Thanks for sharing, Live Long Prosper and Collect Your Own Way!

I have not bought many Rough Riders lately. I did buy two of these. I liked the Senator for the blade types and large size and the Coke Bottle for having a coping bade. The shields fit tight and have no black showing gaps. When mine came, they had nail breaking pulls and it took some oil and time breaking in the blades. They got better after a short time. However, they are strong even afterwards.
I wish they left off the added pull on the easy open one. I did not care for that look and the Doctors knife looks to be a bare head, I did not care for that idea either. I though the blade stamping was hard to read however, that is a problem of old age. It looks sharp when I use a magnifying glass. I am no one for collecting a whole series of knives if I do not like them. The ones I bought are done well no matter who or where they were made. 👍

Yeah, I haven’t picked up the EZ open. I agree about the double pull. As for the Doctor’s knife- I’ll be reviewing that one soon. I have to say, a bareheaded Doctor is anything but true to form. That made no sense to me.

I bought and have the INTERN. I wish it were bigger, love the design, not so much the size.

I bought the Coke bottle first. I received the Senator a couple of days ago. I love the fit and finish on both knives, but I like the Senator better.

I have the Senator and Capitol Intern and agree they are as good as anything I've seen from RR, except for the RR Reserves. The bone on these is beautiful. I hope they do a Canoe. Thanks for the video, cheers.

I know what you mean. The pull on the smaller blades is pretty tough on this series. The stamp is light for sure. Right now I just have the intern so I can only comment on that. The main blade has good walk, but not talk.

They look really nice. Question, is their any Rough Ryder knife made in 1095 steel?

They make carbon steel knives but use T-10, the Chinese equivalent of 1095.
