    I ended up having to use air wedges to break the agitator plate loose. I will say that this is a VERY realistic video, where NOTHING goes easily!

    Thanks for documenting the process fully. I thought I was only one having that much trouble getting that plate off.

      Oh he had it easy. The bolt came out. If it doesn't your only course of action is to destroy the washer plate.

    Don't forget to recalibrate your washer after reinstall. Set dial to top (normal). Then click it left, right, right, right, left, right, and all the lights will turn on. Then turn the dial clockwise to the most down/ South position, and hit start. It will self calibrate for a minute and do a little dance.

    I have had to do that 3 times to replace the clip under there. What I do is only 1 vice grip like you did there and an L shaped pick in a hole opposite that.( Just choose a hole kind of even to your vice grip side) then as you pull up go RIGHT UP.... LEFT UP... RIGHT UP ... LEFT UP... Until it loosens. It takes some time, but it works. Trust me. I hurt myself, pulling like that. I don't have the strength like that.

    This was the hardest thing to get out, was the agitator plate. I duct taped to the inside across the agitator arms, and then put a broom handle over the opening and used it as like a come along System, and tapped on it as I was ratcheting. Finally broke loose. I had tried putting knives and I could get one knife under one side, but it was too tight for the other side so it had to come straight up and I did not want to damage my agitator

    i used a shoelace of all things to wiggle it off. I am in no way strong nor TALL. but I managed to get the shoelace under it and wiggle back and forth and walk it off. works for me

      That's the way I do it. Either a shoe lace or a real thin piece of braided line. DEFINITELY A LOT better than the 2 vice grip method in the video.

    If you screw the bolt most of the way back in and tap it wit a hammer it will release pretty easily...had mine apart in less than 15 minutes

    I have this exact washer, and I just took it completely apart and back together today. W the hub, it is plastic but the mating surfaces/threads are metal. problem w my hub was that the metal teeth in the plastic hub had rusted to the shaft. I had to use penetrating oil and 3 inflatable shimming bags to pop the agitator plate off. 3 hours of working it 😑. Just FYI for anyone else wrestling with this.

    • @wordygirl29
      @wordygirl29 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      is there anything that you did/can do to prevent future rusting of the teeth to the shaft? The teeth in the hub look fully plastic to me so I'm just curious.

    Went to dry my work shirts last and noticed they were a lot more damp than normal. Hit the spin cycle and it did this exact thing. I'm hoping it's not chewed up like your's but I'm crossing my fingers it is just the $20 basket hub. Did you have to recalibrate it by running the diagnostics?

    With worn Trans Shaft The Metal Hub kit doesn’t work as long as the plastic. Tried them. With the Worn down teeth on the shaft, you need a new Trans/Gear Housing or a new Wash Machine.

    I have replaced hub once already. I used two part epoxy last time because shaft teeth were worn down some. Here I am, two years later, hub stripped out again today. I ordered a new hub and gonna use JB Weld too. Mt question is, HOW in the hell does the shaft teeth get worn down? I don't see how the plastic hub can wear metal down!! These washers are terrible. The hub and other parts give out prematurely because the washer doesn't use enough water. It's a terrible strain on the machine, trying to move around wet clothes with so little water.

    I can get the hub out without any problems. From everything I have read and watched the basket should just easily lift out. I need to get my basket out for a different issue. Anyone have any ideas?

    We have the same exact washer and the hub stripped out yesterday. Ours is only 2yrs old and the shaft splines look very deteriorated. I ordered a new hub but I’m a little hesitant to put it on without doing some kind of rigging. What do you think about drilling a small hole in the shaft for a pin.

    • @MrMjrob
      @MrMjrob ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did you ever try that? I wouldn't think it would work because there is a separate shaft within a shaft, the turn independently.

    • @THETOPGLOCK
      @THETOPGLOCK ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrMjrob No. after I made the comment I researched it further and you’re right about the shaft. I ended up buying a new hub and glued it using some high psi JB weld. So far so good. I just figured the splines are almost shot and you have to buy a new transmission anyway to fix it right. Such a shit design

    have you ever had the bolt not come loose? My agitator spins freely, when I try to loosen the bolt, I hold the drum, but the bolt does not loosen!!

    • @willscholten1737
      @willscholten1737 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I took a bunch of extensions for my socket and a breaker bar , so I was working above the washer, then I turned the bolt clockwise a little and quickly pulled it back counter clockwise a few times and it broke loose

    Loosen bolt screw on half way hold plate with a rubber glove for grip tap bolt with hammer. Tighten a little and repeat. It’ll come off

    • @flexjrwow
      @flexjrwow  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The issue i had was the transmission teeth also wore out also... if it was only the hub teeth, yes just buy a new hub. Which I did the first time and it lasted about 3 days. Thats why I jb welded it together, and its still working fine. Let cheaper than a new transmission.

      I think if you put in to much cotton clothes it puts a high stress on your agitator hub striping the splines in side the hub not so much the transmission but it can happen over time,Danny Malliard
