  • There has been a lot of talk about Traditional Values. What does that mean? What if the real crisis we're facing is a crisis of values. Jeff Parrett had a 30+ year career in technology as a software engineer. He saw the industry go from punch cards to the cloud. After retiring in 2013 he is supporting social entrepreneurs in addressing the challenges we’re facing as a society. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

This man is on point. Our societies are collapsing because of lack of shared values. Individualism is at the center of most people.

Values are essential for the good and correct development with people . Do the right thing with others and let them do the right thing with us. We've forgotten that values should be the pillars of our current society.

I agree with you, people focus on how to generate more money without thinking, what really makes me happy? that can benefit other people? What can I do with that money that could benefit me in the future or grow as a person and help the world? If people had that thought, this world would be better, if people really dared to do something without thinking about money, there would not be so many people without realizing dreams.
We always have to have the dreams alive, the reflection at the end, in my opinion is very encouraging, to start thinking about what really has value and how I can work to make things have more value.
Many people, in many places, doing small actions, can change the world.

I agree because values are very important in our lives, they help us know how to interact with others and act in the best way.

Contrabutionism, what can I give, rather than what can I get? At a certain point in my life, I found that it was meaningful to look to how I can pay forward all of the blessings that life has given me.
