I loved it too. Lots of great dialogue scenes, several different locations, which was a nice visual break from all the boring, Grim Dark-everything we've had so far. Ser Gwayne had beautiful armor, and Baela was zooming away on her dragon, which also looked great. There was finally some proper, spooky WW magic thanks to Harrenhall and Alys, as well.
The final scene was a bit of a stretch, but it wasn't as bad as everyone is trying to make it out be. Ali and Rhae had to have one last chance to try to avoid all out war and bring closure to their friendship. In a book, you could do it with letters, ravens, secret meeting, etc....but you have to show it overtly on screen. Blood & Cheese was a much more improbable and poorly executed (get it?) scene. This is also the "calm before the storm" episode. Next week we'll get plenty of RAWRRRR!!! and Pew-Pew!!!!! action.
    Cheers & Tschuss!

Ohh did people not like the Septa scene? Interesting! I think it was well executed and had a ton of symbolism in, I rather enjoyed it! But you know I'm a Rhaenicent enthusiast 😂

@@FeyFire Yes, lots of folks were griping about it being silly and too contrived, but unless they had cellphones and web cams, there was no other way to show them talking to each other in real time. Cheers!

I always tought about Harrenhall, God's Eye and Island of Faces as, topographycally- at least, the Coldrum of Westeros. I also have the theory that God's Eye is a Volcanic Caldeira or Volcanic Lake and it attracts Dragons. Three Dragons died aroud God's eye, from what we know. Another dragon died in Riverlands, at least relatively close to it. I think aroud Harrenhall, The Isle of Faces and God's Eye the Weir woods are different. In some way, the Fire magic and Earth magic come togheter at Harrenhall. Escially, volcanos are related to Earth magic, renewal (land around volcanos and volcanic island are especially fertile) but also Fire magic. They are like threes of rock, eyes of the eath, that burst energy and renew life. The gods of Death are in many cultures the gods of renewal. And I believe that Morgaine, pardon, Alyce's baby, married into the Lothstone house and is one of the ancestors of Mad Danelle, of the Whents and by extension Catelyn Stark, Sansa and so on. It would be my guess that Alys Rivers will birth a weirwood like child, pale faced, red haired (kissed by Fyre) with both old gods and Valyrian connections. The lineage the child (my guess would be female) will be remarcably strong, red hair being present in most of the families where a descendant marries. And I guess Mellisandre is not Alys, but one of Alys's descendants, maybe child of Mad Danelle, sold or banished after Harrenhall is taken by the tamer branch of the family (maybe a bastard branch), House Whent. That explains Mell's attraction towards Westeros, she is of the fire under it, blood of the first men with a drop of Valyrian and greensear added. And she gets everything wrong because she does not follow the fire beneath earth, she just playes with powders and the chimney when it is a greater source of power out there. I am psyched for her to travel to Harrenhall, honestly.

Very cool! Yes there are many lingering questions about what happened to her child... this would be an interesting twist!

@@FeyFire i think the key is the female line, the female line survives always, so my theory is from the house Strong up untill the Whents, the ones that held the castles and had used the magic surrounded it have the same mitocontrial dna basically, the seed is strong in the sense that, biologically and magically, the female descendance stays the same. Hear me out, there are at least three witches at Harrenhall, and then there is Cat too. In the same damn place. Tell me why? Also the Bloodraven connection. Bloodraven and Daemon both sound the same. And Bloodraven and Aemond look the same. Okay, I might have a hyper - fixation on Harrenhall and God's eye, sorry, but it all seems to fit into place.

@@EmaAgafitei no I totally get it! I definitely think there is something about the women of Harrenhal - they are Green Priestesses of the Isle of Faces, imo. I think they know about the Song of ice and fire and they help facilitate a reincarnation cycle via the sacred weirwood grove. I go into a lot of detail about this in my Alys Rivers video!

@@EmaAgafitei I also believe Arya has inherited some of this power, and there is a kind of foil to the Isle of Faces and the Faceless Men. But I think Arya might become a green priestess once she comes back to Westeros.

    • @EmaAgafitei

@@FeyFire Ya, she does give off the vibe of lady of the Old Ways and of a First Men Warg Queen, her acts are very simmilar to those of Lyanna Stark (another possible past candidate for priestess) and Garth Greenhand's daughters. She is as vengefull as the forces of nature, but astonishingly wise and cunning for her young age. And she looks very much like a Strong/Stark, and first men, calling back to their mater - genitor, Alys. She is displaying a fiery nature too. She can warg into multiple beings, and only very powerfull skinchangers and greeseers can do it.
She also asks Ned if she can be High Septon some day, a high Septon is obviously a great priest. She may as well become the leader of the Green Man Order. She also meets The Ghost of the White Hart, ominous thing, Jenny of the Oldstone connection.
It seems unfair for all the old gods big magic to only go to Bran.
Maybe a new Morgaine and Arthur parallel between her and Jon. They constantly think of eachother, and their chapters echo into eachother.
Regarding the Isle of Faces and Faceless man, the faceless man might be the green man equivalent in Essos, keeping the equilibrium between life and death.

It was a change from the book to make Cole Dornish (in the book he's from the Marches and he gained battle experience fighting the Dornish), I'm glad they're doing something with it. It would actually be really funny if he is *not* Dornish in the show, but ignorant people keep mistaking him and he's biting his tongue.

    • @Rougeification
      @Rougeification 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Well, he does say to Rhaenerys that he's fought "against Dornish Incursions". They talk about him being the son of the "Steward at Blackhaven".
I think they're trying to say that he's so close to the border, he's mistaken for Dornish. Perhaps a grandparent is Dornish, similar to how Fabien's grandparent is from Mumbai (I think?).

34:40 - as much as I agree, Baela is a lot like Daemon, but I think she's very much like her mother, Laena, too. She was just as reckless - it's part of what drew Daemon to her.

I loved the cameo by Milly as Young Rhaenyra!! It was the younger version he tried to seduce and she turned to Cole, who turned incel against her and Daemon wasn’t there to protect her against it. Now she is trying to save her own ass from what he did to Jaehaerys. Perfect, perfect, perfect.

The episode grew on me after viewing it two more times this week. I only wish that they wouldn’t jump around as much. I love all the Daemon stuff at Harrenhall and I wish both his scenes entering the castle, and his weirwood dream sequence were a bit longer. Really dive into it. But I feel like they had to accomplish a lot this episode to get to where they wanted to be next week, and that they usually like jumping around between locations quickly anyway.
I want them to take it slowly but I see others seem to want to just jump to all the action. I just hope they can avoid becoming too “tv show-y”. Like a checklist of things to fit into each episode. -council meetings for both sides -dragon scene -boobs and dick -something suspenseful to end on.
Not every episode has to end on a big dramatic sequence, not every episode needs the obligatory dragon action sequence, ya know what I mean? Just a feeling I got watching the episode for the first time.
