    Bought one of these when I lost my apartment. Bought a good tent, one of these and a duffel to carry both it and a good sharp saber. I will keep myself plenty safe.

    You can own the 18" security model, and install a TactaLoad 5 buttstock and a side saddle, and with practice, you now have a versatile and super reliable shotgun that can deliver up to 16 shells of pure mayhem. The Maverick 88 is a joy to own, shoot, and the price you pay for one feels really good too.

    Considering a lot of barrels are $200, ya could get another Mav 88 for around the same price. Regardless, thx for the heads-up.

    I bought the 20 inch for capacity and usefulness. Great for home defense and hunting, whatever you need it for.

    JCON told me to get the 20” he said the more shots the better just in case and I trust him. There are some rare barrels that will fit the 20’ magazine tube but are very hard to find.

      If you use the 1 3/4" mini shells you can load 12 +1.

    • @RustyZipper

      18.5 is easier to maneuver around the home, a side saddle will carry the leftovers. But if you need them you got the wrong gun or you’re a bad shot

    • @stevenzembriski6761

    So change it the magazine tube to the 5+1 and everything should line up.

    As cheap as these are I just bought a whole new mav 88 instead of the barrel alone. It was only about $65 more to get another gun altogether.

    If I'm not mistaken I believe the magazine tube can be unscrewed from the receiver. Would it be possible to order the 5 round magazine tube from Mossberg ?

    • @ATS357
      @ATS357  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I believe can but then you 20" barrel can not be used.
      To change them back and forth would be possible but not fun.

    I think the Mossberg Maverick 88's are just as good as the 500 and 590 series shotguns.

    • @ATS357
      @ATS357  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you are right. The biggest
      difference is the 500 action is silky smooth compared to the Maverick 88.

      Yup. Have a 1969 500A, 30" barrel that the "SINGLE ACTION BAR" broke and can't be replaced😢. Also have an 18.5" barrel that I bought for the 500 before the mishap. Both fit perfectly on my new Maverick88 28" model. 😁

    Mossberg will not support these shotguns. Been waiting more than 3 years for a 18 1/2 inch barrel. Mossberg claims they are out of stock. Three years out of stock ??? Come on Mossberg you had decent customer service for 100 years. What happened ?

    • @ATS357

      You are so right! I have also been trying to get an 18 1/2" for a 20 gauge for about 3 years at least two.
