M15 & F23 BRACING AGAINST THE WINDS FROM HURRICANE HELENE🌀🦅🦅🙏 SWFL EAGLES 9.26.24
Yesterday, I watched M15 bring in a large branch as the winds were picking up. (Not on this video) He tried to wrestle it a bit but gave up. F23 then flew in with talons full of fluff material for the nest and M15 jumped to help spread it around the bowl.
I snapped this clip because watching them side by side, standing strong together was just so powerful and touching. They leaned into the wind, staring into the storm, preparing to possibly lose their nest. They stand united together, bonded to M15's nest where they just raised E23 last season. So many 'firsts' here for new mom, F23.
But M15 has been through this many times unfortunately, and has had to rebuild with his previous mate, Harriet. They are master builders and do not dwell on loss, they process, plan and move forward. In fact, full rebuilds have been completed in just weeks for many Bald Eagle pairs that have had their nests destroyed by weather.
Luckily, F23 hauled in that huge log last week which held their nest down and secure. 🤭😅❤️🦅 Maybe that's why she gave M15 the beak every time he tried to fuss with it! "Don't you touch my log, M!!"😤 Well, I'm happy to report that their nest is intact and thankfully, the eagles know how to get to safety during dangerous storms. Stay safe everybirdy!

Sunday morning ---Happy to see a couple of eagles facing "Life's Storm's" together. Like People protecting homes and businesses, Feathered Nature citizens show they value their Nest home.
