Just took a look at my under rear engine mount that when you called the transmission mount. Mine looks pretty messed up but I'm fairly new to working on this car so so glad I found your channel thank you so much.

    Hello ByrdRebuilds,
NICE video! I am struggling with exhaust on my 2013 451, but now will also check engine/trans mounts.
    Thank you for your video!

Very informative video. What would be the torque for the bolts? (Chassis and engine)

Question. You're jacking your What from the center rear. Where are you placing the jack? I know this is an old video but hopefully you can remember.

I think it was the transmission

Greetings, I have a 2009 451. My car has 95,000 miles on it now, bought it used. I shopped on Amazon for parts and it was a nightmare. Rock auto ROCKS for parts for these cars. They have all three mounts in a kit. So the 1st. Mgt. you replaced is called a torque mgt. according to Rick auto. I have not had other mgts. replaced yet but I can say that the transition doesn’t clung going into reverse and it is shifting in Auto much better plus I’m getting better gas mileage. Up to 43.99 per gallon. Up from 37. I also use additive Marvel’s mystery oil and that helps. So I’m excited to see the changes once I get the other mgts. replaced. It should be like a new car. Also had to replace Tires, struts, shocks, and rear window struts. It’s been a major repair job. Oh PSS. I got window struts OEM.. At Rock 28.05…. Mercedes was charging 139.99 for same items. Crazy for sure. Hope this helps….😊

Yes you are about Rockauto I had picked up the struts from Rockauto.

Thanks for your reply‼️Another trick I learned is to take the clutch actuator off clean it and spray 3n1 oil in it and put it back on. I had issues where it didn’t go into reverse so this helped and another time I had the same issue so I looked at a different video and they said to lift up the shift console and there is a yellow lever that you can push up on and it releases so it will then shift into reverse. I also had issues with the alarm going off at night 5 or 6 times or so. Found out how to stop that. When you turn the car off hit the car icon on the dash so it flashes and you then have 60 seconds to get out and lock it.. IT WORKS. If you have issues with the interior alarm that goes off. I think this car was built either on a Monday or Friday. Tooooo many crazy things that happen to my Smarty Pants… LOL LOL. It’s been a learning experience.. if I could work on it I would. I did however change both air filters…ALL BY MYSELF ‼️‼️ Hope this helps as well. You never know. Also Smart Maddness in California or Texas will help with issues as well and they have parts and accessories and they are very helpful‼️‼️😃😃

@L Moell Wow I do have a little bit of a problem going into reverse it takes a little bit. And the other problem I have it will sometimes unlock the door with the keyfob button, not a big deal ...lol

Great job!!! I like the way you improvised with the removal of that Bolt under the airbox!!!😊 I have to do two of the mounts by Thursday. The one on the right and the one under the car. What was the size of the E sockets that you used under the car? Thanks, for your great video! 😇

How did you notice the mounts were bad? My engine shakes at idle and over 55mph, the car shakes quite a bit. I’m trying to figure out if this is from my engine mounts or something else.

    • @ByrdsRebuilds
      @ByrdsRebuilds  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

My smart car was shaking, and then I jacked up the car engine to see if the engine moved more than the car to tell if the mounts were bad.

@@ByrdsRebuilds This will come in handy when my new mounts show up. I bought a really nice 2013 Passion a few weeks ago with 49,5xx miles that was owned by an older couple. I've always noticed a slight vibration at idle, and a noise coming from the intake scoop that has a regular beat to it, that matches the idle RPM and slight movement of the engine. I thought it was the intake plenum that was vibrating, but I yanked that out, put a silicone intake on it, and it still makes the noise. I'm guessing the bottom mount is broken, so I just ordered a set of all 3 mounts early this morning and figured I might as well replace all three while I'm at it.

Good video! Is it danger that not put a jack under the engine when you’re changing the front mount?😢
I think if it’s enough space to put a jack under the engine?

I'd bet that if your kept the tube coming out of the air filter and into the intake manifold unwrapped, you'd get better gas mileage.

I ordered inserts from Powerflex. The inserts for the torque mgt./Engine mgt. are Polyethylene awesome made but don’t fit so I have a call into the Co. about the issue. It’s been an ordeal but I’m getting closer to getting the job done after over a month.
