    I have two TM6, one here in Canada and one in Spain, where we spend half of the year. Can’t, or actually do not want to live without it! A whole new world of different cuisines opened up for me with Cookidoo!

      Agreed! I learned more by going through the cookidoo app in six months about world cuisine then I have as a chef, my entire life!

    You make a strong point. It’s not for everyone.
    I LOVE cooking at home. It relaxes me to a point I cannot describe.
    And I’m not a professional chef.
    That being said…this device is the best thing that has ever happened to me.
    Now I can make a great meal after coming home and not having to worry about spending countless hours preparing it, or messing something up because of being tired.
    Did I mention I stopped ordering food?

    When I first heard of Thermomix I looked it up, saw the price and thought no way! Then I spent 6 months watching utube and then bought one. I then sold my stand mixer, threw away a bread maker and a food processor (both very old). I use it most days. I cook from scratch and batch cook. The best piece of equipment I have owned. As it’s connected to the internet a number of new features have been added over the last three years making it even more versatile.

    Thermomix ....I had to say it because I never ever heard of this product. Wonder if it's because I never ever seen an advertisement (which saves the companies money, and yours, if purchased). Wonder if it's because the product is so dang good, that word of mouth is all the company needs. Either way, do wish I wasn't on the naughty list with Santa because my bank, unfortunately, won't let me explore and have more time saving fun by getting one. Merriest of CHRISTmas to you sir...and to alll 🌍

    Greetings from across the pond. I stumbled across your channel after referring to the research section on TH-cam studio. I’m really glad I clicked the suggestion. This is a very, very good review, really informative and well structured. My channel is about 50% thermomix content, I’m a big advocate of the tm6 but you make some really good points here, so thanks for the review. I do think cookidoo is worth every penny, but from my experience, it puts a lot of people off purchasing the machine.

    What an honest, useful review. I love my multiple kitchen appliances (Ankarsrum mixer, KA mixer, NutriMill mixer, Vitamix, Zojirushi rice maker, Zojirushi bread machines (2), KoMo grain mill, NutriMill Grain mill, Breville toaster oven….nice All-Clad cookware and more. Happy holidays to you and your loved ones! Ok, so my discomfort about Thermomix is about awaiting instruction from step to step. Instead of cooking a recipe I might refer to and then continue cooking, or use recipes I know, I need to read the recipe instruction step by step, in order to progress to the next step. I feel disconnected from cooking and more like taking instruction from a machine who does not have a heart from which to cook. I also know that the precise cooking of this machine enables souffles and salads, entrees and desserts on the fly. I struggle, George, I struggle.

    • @AwareHouseChef
      @AwareHouseChef  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    I've never been in love with a machine before, with the TM I am. Complete agree with all your points, it’s not for everyone, and it shouldn’t be, we are all different:) The powdered sugar tastes so much better without the additives, I also make my own brown sugar for specific recipes, thus avoiding the "hard rocking". And many, many little and big things! What I like the most is that I can walk away and do something else while it is cooking, these little pockets of time have to be experienced to understand their practical value. Have you tried the Portuguese bread? If not, definitely recommend it!

    Seriously interested in getting one but I don't feel comfortable spending so much money on a model that was released 5 years ago. Technology has done leaps and bounds in the past 5 years and it feels scary to invest in something that costs so much but has been released 5 years ago.

      I completely understand. Not quite sure what more it can do. The new addons like the wireless probe and sliver/grater kind of make it complete. I highly doubt they will add a refrigerating feature. I’d love it if they did. Cheers!

    In your videos you keep saying you can buy a TM6 over 12 Months, is that all they offer in the U.S?
    Here in the U.K. you can buy 1 over 12, 24 or 36 Months so when I bought mine over 3 years ago I decided on the 24 month plan and that was perfect for me 😋

    • @AwareHouseChef

    Wait Chef, I do not cook. But I do not cook because for a beginner like me, cutting an onion is 5 minutes. Then I look at the board I just made a mess out of, I see 3 pots in my sink because I cooked rice, veggies, and meat. It takes me 2 hours. I feel like I would cook more if I had this. I order takeout a lot and it is all greasy food, not made with fresh ingredients. I have a desire of improving my diet while also exploring new recipes during the weekend. Is this for me or am I just lying to myself that I would use it daily? Healthy home made treats like frozen yoghurt seem great. I also need more soups in my life.

    • @AwareHouseChef
      @AwareHouseChef  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Buying one of these is like buying gym equipment. You think you’re going to use it because you own it but it sounds to me like you need to push yourself to have a lifestyle change. My advice to you would be to download the Cookidoo app first. Scroll through, and randomly pick out recipes that you think you would like to eat. Make sure that you uncheck United States, just have English set to checked. That will give you the largest selection of recipes available for whatever you’re looking for. Then go through the process, the steps the recipe is calling for and ask yourself is that something I would be willing to do at least two or three times a week? If you feel that it would motivate you to stop ordering takeout and that you could commit to using the machine, then get it. You have to put some time into it. If you find yourself thinking that you won’t use it after you go through a few recipes then don’t buy it. Here is another example. Have you seen what you can do with the 3-D printer? so many people buy them and then they just wind up making a few trinkets and never using them again. This will allow you to cook almost anything easily , but you have to do it. You have to cook the recipes. As a tool, there is nothing like it, and the quality is unsurpassed. I hope that helps.

    Not for me.
    The Thermomix might be great for some cooks, but it does not fit in with my cooking style. I also have all the gear I need, add or replace only after a lot of research. I also cook just for myself, so I don't need devices that cook a lot of food at once. If a Thermomix magically appeared in my kitchen, I might use it once every month or two; definitely not worth the money.
    Your mileage will vary.

    This is thing is nothing more than a glorified sauce hollandaise machine.
    The only thing it can do better than regular equipment is stir at a constant temperature. Just what you need to keep an emulsion stable. That’s what we used them for in the Michelin starred restaurant I worked at.

      @@AwareHouseChefI know it can grind, mix etc. but it doesn't do any of these better than other appliances and it costs more than all of them combined. (400$ Vitamix + 200$ Cuisinart 14 Cup + 30$ Chinesium Spice Grinder + 30$ Scale + 200$ Anovo Pro / Breville Joule = 860$, leaves us budget for a KitchenAid 8 qt, a Instant Pot and a Dynamic Professional Immersion Blender). And none of them need a subscription ....
      Counterspace and lazyness and the emulsions are the only reasons. Oh and beein a shill for Vorwerk. They are literally a sketchy door to door vacuum sale company.
