  • How can training new doctors and nurses in resource-limited countries cure more than people?
With all the investments made in global health over the last decade, why are we still struggling to deliver care? Do we in fact have the model right? Beyond infrastructure and medicines, we need people to build sustainable robust country-led health systems. We can change the status quo by creating a pipeline of highly trained health professionals who will train generations to come. Seed Global Health partners with the Peace Corps to pair US clinicians with public sector teaching institutions in resource poor countries to help nurture the future caregivers and educators in these countries of great need.
    About TEDx
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I am an RN in Australia and plan to do global healthcare, but it is so expensive to volunteer. Doctors can afford to leave there job and volunteer aboard for 12 months, but nurses cant even pay their rent here let alone volunteer without pay for 12 months. I would love to go to Africa and help educate future nurses, but I could only do so if there is a wage involved.

Even scientists do not recognize that Africa is a continent, the data will be misleading because health inequality varies from one country to another in entire Africa. So drawing comparisons using the continental data is not a recommendable data-driven approach to addressing the healthcare challenges faced by specific countries

Great. But physicians and nurses are at the clinical end of the spear. What are you doing to train and build the capacity of the health administrators, of non-clinical health officials, the country's secretary of health, etc.?

I am a physician with a public health specialization. I have worked in 'global' health in India only, including in WHO for 35 years because no organization, especially the UN will accept me to work abroad. I can teach and train in NTDs, TB, leprosy. My Ob Gyn is rusty but I could brush it up.

She's a white American. White Americans very rarely have respect for other places, especially the continent of Africa. I will send my blessings however to all Africans, from all countries of this wonderful continent.
