First time seeing the wife my friend and Sabrina is an absolute gem!! Any woman that skips with excitement to experience more horsepower from a diesel 4x4 and obviously enjoys life as a 4x4 wife is a total keeper, lol!!! She even rubs it in when she senses jealousy of her newly juiced up Yota!! Love it!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻

I have a 2004 Toyota Landcruiser 79 series 1HZ, and I love it but I cannot deny the fact that, I am dying inside to own a 80series. They are the best 4x4 SUV that were ever made. Shauno, the 80series is on another level. 💪💯

I've just inherited my father in law's 80, full Granada Spec. Slowly dumping money into it to make it reliable and safe to use as a family car, and this is the classic look I'm going for, looks great mate! Can't wait to see whats next.

I just bought a 2023 Hilux Legend (in South Africa we call it Legend and in Australia its called Rogue i think). Ordered the canopy, seat covers, snorkel etc but watching some 4WD 24/7 with a beer on the couch - I think a tune and 76mm free flow is in order. Thanks for the inspiration guys!
I was wondering the other day what happened to that 80.
Honestly, I would have left it as is with the patina.
Pulling the engine out, I would have definitely done in the case of how thorough the autopsy and modifications are.
Colour came out really nice.
Great catch with the main bearings.
Power mods would have munched that down the line.
Great idea with the upgraded auto box cooler.
Rims can do with a cleaning/restoration.

New wheels and tyres would be even better in my humble opinion. I didn't say it's bad, but you know a little more cosmetic upgrade would be even better, cuz now that it is Mrs Shauno's 80 series.
Love the colour coded door handles and black window frames like the Sahara's. Best paint combo. Sahara headlights also look clean

Great build. Leave it there tho!! don't lift it or chuck on 35's/muddies. Do a brake upgrade as its your wifes car now. It's just perfect as it is, don't ruin it whatever you do!
Some sick 16" rims with a 10" profile and good AT 33's though would make it hook up and ride a bit better, but as a Mall crawler it doesn't need 35s, totally agree, plus Shauno will de take it on the tracks if she has 35s🤣 not that he wouldnt be past stealing the 35s off Darryl or Sooty for that matter.😂

All the paint, parts and labor would have cost a fair amount let alone the profit on top!
It'll definitely need a lot more braking power and suspension along with a stronger drive train to keep it safe to drive.

@@anthonyramdin1037 I would agree with you if it were being driven on a track but it’s not. The breaks are still only slowing down the same car from the same speeds as before with roughly the same weight. It’s not like it is going to be on the throttle while breaking!
@@coolstar2398 It's foolish thinking like this that causes re-end crashes. To get an engineering certificate after such massive power increase will ALWAYS require brake upgrade, not break upgrade. Break is what will happen to the front diff - that's why part-time kit is in the TC. Just because this doesn't technically may not require engineering, to make it safe the obvious things need to be done.

Shauno you make me cry which I had of of these guys before I spent 35000 on my 80
If I got 6 winning numbers I wouldn't go out and buy some fancy brand new cpu controlled 4x4! I would definitely buy a 80 series LC and do as you have done. The engine guys did a great job and it was great to see a drum of HiTech oil in the background. Not Castrol crap! I use HiTech transmission fluid in my AWD Territory, have been up the Great Central Road from Perth to Uluru pulling a camper trailer and was very impressed with the trans fluid.
As for the 80's series LC I think Toyota peaked with that model!

Well my Land Rover 300tdi had done 500000k with big Turbo intercooler and pump and injectors when stripped had zero wear on any of the bearings crank pistons etc so I guess Shauno you should have bought a Land Rover 😁😁👍

They are very sluggish. But mine did 1 million Ks before first rebuild, and block head still in spec, amazing, they were built tough, cast blocks. Brilliant car. I want to do these power upgrades, I feel sorry for the people on the road and the traffic congestion it causes, they really are slow, but will go forever
In for a power upgrade… may as well do a cheeky full rebuild while ya there😮
She says she doesn’t want it lifted…. Within 3 episodes it’s got a 3 inch lift & 35’s haha.
