Letsile Tebogo won that race because he was the better than everyone else in the 200m in this Olympic cycle. Athletes constantly battle illness, injury, stress, fatigue and other pressures etc and the ones who win are not just super talented but also manage to peak at the right time. Tebogo peaked today. Lyles didn’t. Last week Noah triumphed. He is a champion. Let’s not diminish Tebogo’s victory today. He is a champion. Noah would have been ready to celebrate victory, given his entry. Let’s just accept defeat with grace and celebrate Tebogo. (Not great that the other athletes were exposed to Covid after the race).

But it's necessary to bring attention and change. So SURE. You can be quite and safe like A Sydney Mcglaughlin. And nothing changes. Or you can stick your neck out and draw attention. I was and still am a fan of his but it is what it is. That said, Americans as a whole never made that argument at all. We all know the 100 m champ earns the title of world fastest man. Lyles earned it this year as did Ms Alfred. We don't think that Shcarri is really the fastest b/c she has a faster personal best time. Nope. Ms Alfred is the fastest women right now and she deserves it. Hope this clears up your dilemna.

@live4eva29 Yeah, and I guarantee you any of the other athletes would have done the same thing. Bednarek said he does things for his body so that being sick wouldn't bother him, implying that he would still race while sick. The only reason people are shining light on noah lyles being sick is cause his controversy. These athletes spend multiple years of their life training for thay 1 moment do you honestly think they would drop out?
