The 100 was great, but I’m still waiting for your video at the 10,000. That was one of the better distance races I’ve ever seen, and an American made the podium!
This race just proves to the whole world that Usain bolt's world record will stand for a very , very long time. Also Good to see Lamont marcell jacobs run near his personal best time of 9.80
Lmao, you flipping but thank goodness Jamaican didn't because if they did, the rest of us the world wouldn't never hear the end of it from you Jamaicans. Lol😂😂😂😂
His closing speed was insane. I was staring at Fred and Kishane, but at about 60m I saw that blur from the outside and I knew he took it. Amazing race. Hats off to Kishane and Kerley too
Kerley really turned up considering his form as of last year. I knew he had it in him to get that medal if Oblique slipped up. As for Lyles, I knew he had just as good a chance as Kishane did. Well deserved winner. What a great race for the sport.
@@grimreality451 Kishane choked, we forgot to add that caveat that he might choke, Noah was clutch Thompson has a bit to learn Raw Talent alone don't win u Gold.
He proved me wrong. Losing that semi might have been the best thing for him. Grueling rounds but steadfast and determined beating a very deep field. A win is a win no matter the margin. Absolutely chuffed for the guy. Now on to the easy part. I would love to see an American double in my lifetime.
You will see a double, a triple, and possibly quadruple if they let Noah run the 400m. Please let him run the 400m and win Gold and if this happens then Noah and the USA would have something no other track athelete has ever done in the modern Olympics to include the great Usain Bolt
Yeah, that comment yesterday on your behalf was unreasonable. Lyles knew exactly what he was doing as I had been telling people from the get-go. Yet everyone was adamant to believe that Kishane was immortal because of one time, as if Yohan Blake in the 2012 Olympic trials hadn’t taught everyone a lesson.. What a great race for the sport
@@all-caps3927I disagree. He ran a PB. It’s unreasonable of you to expect athletes to do what they’ve never done. Plus I said I hope he recovers to turn it around again. That’s not unreasonable. I’m giving him room to be human and never openly wanting him to fail. But as a fan of Noah, I would expect you think that as you should. I know it’s an opinion to not expect him to go faster than he has. I think it’s rooted in stats. You have a belief in him . That’s perfectly reasonable imo. I just don’t stare that for any athlete. But I WANT him to succeed. He needs fans like you . As well fans of the sport like me to balance the ppl who despise the guy out. Do I know why they do? No but ppl find reasons. Would have been zero shame to not win for the all the reasons I thought were reasonable. Being great is overcoming that. If you think he’s great, then overcoming obstacles I mention seem reasonable as well. We simply disagreed whether he could. Thats not unreasonable. That’s the nature of competitive racing. Recognizing what I said yesterday only makes Noah’s performance greater. He said the plan is to win his heat. He didn’t. Anyone who makes a win their mission rather than advancing is worth highlighting. Do you disagree? I also said he’d run 9.80 In the semi. Was I wrong? Clearly I think he’s capable of being rapid. In fact I’ve been saying for a year if he skipped the 100m, he would break the 200m record. But I said bc of that, imo that’s a mistake bc he’ll have to turn around and PB. It’s unreasonable to say a human will struggle to exert so much energy, turn around in a couple hours and redo it all again vs ppl who managed rounds better objectively (From an energy standpoint only)? Why is that unreasonable? I didn’t say he COULDN’T. I implied how tough it would be . While I get to you that appears like I’m doubting him, it’s meant to highlight the true gap needed to overcome. So should he do it, the goalposts can not be moved. I hear the same stuff about Sydney. I’m not critical of her. But we’re expecting her to be superhuman ironically which is what you brought up. For Sydney to reset another record is crazy. Can she? Sure. So long as we’re on the same page how wild that would be. Meanwhile Bol just san 47.9 and is 3 tenths off her recently set record running alone. Is it unreasonable to highlight the threat she’s become? I don’t think so. Bc if Sydney overcomes , I’m the one who illuminated it rather than focused on how superhuman she is. So long as I’m the first to say “well done” you will know it’s never from malice. My only issue with Sydney is her coach. Not her. My only issue with Noah is I wanted him to manage rounds better. Which is an objectively useful goal. But if he wins, it doesn’t matter. But like I said he does need supporters like you so I don’t blame you and appreciate the that accountability. I did not think he legs would hold up. I was wrong there. Bc it required him to do what he’s never done. I’m ELATED to see someone do what they’ve never done. But I wont expect him to habitually do what he’s never done. He can prove me wrong 100x over that’s what being great is. Also never forget this was all from the POV he still had an entire event program to compete in… I’ll stay consistent - like I’ve stated, this is a weak field next . should he get through the 100, the 200 is a breeze. But so long as his legs hold up. You’d call that unreasonable, I disagree considering no male athlete has ever done it aside from one. And he was unreasonably great. 3x . If Noah wants to be unreasonably great, he’ll need to do what sprinters fail to do often: double. Can he ? Sure. But this 100m doesn’t mean he can do it in the 200m. But just make sure you quote me right next time respectfully : I’ve said all along he will win the 200m. Bc I think he’s a great sprinter. That does NOT mean I think it’s statistically likely of what a sprinter should do. So when I talk about the challenges Knighton poses, it’s not bc I doubt Noah. It’s bc I want his fans to be able to fully see the obstacle he leaped. You tend to think he does it easy. He’s killing himself out there. On a tiny sample size I won an Atlantic 10 (now big East) title with Xavier indoor in the 200m attempting to perform my own double. Literally ruined my entire bid in the 400m that same championship which I wanted much more and I failed spectacularly . Point is I’m not a great sprinter. But I know it hurts your body to be great so imagining that st the Olympic level is near impossible but I have a great respect for how insanely difficult what Noah is doing. This 100m win SHOULD hurt his legs in the 200m. But bolt proved it’s possible. Are we now in the era of atleast having conversations that Noah is approaching bolt? I’m open to that. He’s got a lot more to do but Noah is great in ways bolt wasn’t as well that’s have grown the sport especially In the US.
@@robwhoot7686if he wins the 200m I’m sure they’ll let him or atleast consider it. I hope he doesn’t even consider it until then tho. Despite what the well intentioned gentleman said in a previous comment, I’m not unreasonable I just don’t expect Noah to do what he’s never done. That’s unfair to him in my opinion. That’s asking a lot of an athlete. He doesn’t run the relay. Doesn’t mean he can’t but I personally don’t trust someone who has never run a relay in an Olympic final. I wouldn’t said the same about bolt who ran 45 as a 16 year old. if that’s unreasonable then so be it. However I will not argue with the reigning Olympic 100m/200m champion daring to be great if the team approves it.
As a lyles fan, part of the excitement is not knowing if he’s gonna do it. Then he’s done it. I wasn’t sure until the last metre. Hate him or love him you have to say it was the most entertaining race of the Olympics so far.
@@RANDOMZBOSSMAN1 yep that's the thing he ran a very good time but the field line up was crazy any Olympic besides this one(and 2012 offcourse) he could have medaled
Imagine being at the last Olympics getting 5th and 4th and then you show up to your 3rd Olympics and run a 9.82 and get 4th again. That's what simbine just did. That would been silver at the last two Olympics and would've won the world championship just last year

I agree about Kerley. He was the biggest surprise. He hadn't done anything to build my confidence in him. He proved me wrong. Dude almost won the whole thing.
You gotta do a deep analysis of this race once the Olympics settle down... That had to be one of the fastest top speeds ever achieved with Lyles's close!!
@@jdjzr9343 2012 Bolt? You mean 2009 Bolt? 2009 when he broke and set both world records at their current placement? 2012 was ok too but Bolt started better too. It was closer than you think.

I am so happy for Noah! But I'm also happy for Kerley who after a season with troubles succeed to run this incredible race exactly on the right time. And Jacobs. Please stop calling him a fluke now. After years of injuries he ran 9.85 and came fifth. Respect to him. What a great race this was!
@@fantons6996That doesn't speak very highly of European sprinting then. Jacobs deserves a ton of credit for Tokyo but he's easily the weakest Olympic 100 meter champ in recent memory

Noah's ability to run relaxed through the entire race is impressive. Thompson and Kerley were getting tight as they strained for the finish. The drought is over.
It will return, this is periodical ‘Jamaicans dominate, then the golden generation fall off, then the Americans clinch it & like clockwork the next elite generation of Jamaican sprinters have spawned to take the reigns back’ 🤝🏾
I think Thompson running next to kerley was ultimately the worst thing that could’ve happened. He tensed up way too much at the end and couldn’t finish properly - similar to Gatlin in 2015 against bolt. Almost identically actually, you’re the fastest before the massive event and then get caught in the spotlight when things aren’t going exactly to plan. Noah stayed calm after losing 2 rounds in a row and showed his composure. An amazing run regardless
@@all-caps3927 Good point. This did resemble Gatlin and Bolt in 2015. In the replay Kishane looks completely tensed up around his shoulders, just like Gatlin being pressured by Bolt, whilst all of Lyle’s power was flowing through his legs for that 200m-level top speed. I’m sure he can fix that and deliver better in future
@@AQuinn0630 I'm not a fan of Lyles but i congratulate him. Great great win!!! I was rooting for Thompson, but for the last 20 meters his engine was gone gone gone...
Maybe because everyone in these comments was so caught up with Kishane running 1 amazing time. The Olympics is a totally different event to any other 100m. I think people should’ve looked back to 2012 with Yohan Blake and learned a lesson that it’s anyone’s race. It was amazing regardless
Congrats to them all, 2nd best race in Olympics history. And Djokovic provides the best tennis today too. Best day in the Olympics so far. Hopefully these games only get better
Noah Lyles walked and talked the talk all props to him and Kishane did great for his first ever international competition of this sort, the next few years are going to be insane.
Kishane will use this nightmare fuel for the next 4 years to prove he will win in LA 2028. Or it will break him - But let's all hope Kishane delivers 5-10 times from now on, under 9.80 over the next 2-3 yrs. I can see him getting to 9.73 but as a Jamaican, a 9.73 will just make him 4th fastest Jamaican of all time which is freaking INSANE! (Bolt 9.58, Blake 9.69, Powell 9.72)
Jacob’s had to get a damn near perfect start to be competitive. Hats off to him. He proved that even when you’re not in the best shape, if you know how to race you can compete with the TOP
I’m glad he finished 5th, if he was in his Tokyo Finals condition he would’ve won Bronze but it is what it is. He pretty much silenced anyone that doubted he’ll reach the finals and now he won’t be called a fluke.
Noah Lyles with the win. He surely has come a long way in this even, and proved to the world that he is the fastest man in the world right now. His closing speeds are incredible. Can’t wait to see what he puts down in the 200m. Congrats on Gold. Team USA! 🇺🇸 🥇
@@NinjaKiller1022 tbh, from his PB, he only needs 0.12 or more and that’s a realistic improvement in the 200m over 2 years and under the adrenaline of an Olympics final. We can hope
Nah he prepares 80% of the edited vid before the race even starts. After the race happens he does a 1-2 minute voice over and adds new photos. Had there been a different winner the first 80% of the video would have still been these same edits. 😂😂😂
I was Noah all the way until the heats today. I did think that Thompson would win after being so consistent in running 9.80 and below. What I did not realize until much later was that Oblique Seville had finished last. I knew Noah was close to winning when he ran past Seville. I believe Noah running past him like that had an effect on Seville coming in last.
Kishane T had not won a world title before and now this!! Experience now teaches wisdom, this guy will become the world’s fastest soon, remember I sey soh.
Y'all need to understand that at any world final, it's a game of nerves and no one and I mean, NO ONE is more confident in their abilities than Noah Lyles. I'm for team Noah but after seeing him come 2nd twice in both the heats and the semi finals, I started to doubt whether he'd get the gold, I'm sure we all did, BUT NOT ONCE DID NOAH LYLES DOUBT HIMSELF. And that's the one thing that will always give him an edge over his competition, IT'S HIS UNMATCHED CONFIDENCE, even if it counts for just 0.004secs that's all he needed to win.
I told y'all folks to stop Doubting him 😤. He's literally beaten the whole field before. My logic was why cant he do it again 😅. Man Shout-out to Kerley for Proving Haters wrong again. Kishane also earned my respect. Noah is the national 60m champ, Broke His 100m PB 2x... I think we should all be on a potential WR notice for the 200m finals 🤫
Realistically I don't see 19.19 falling from Noah. I think 19.30 or 19.26 might fall, but realistically, since its the Olympics and he will be tired after heats and SFs, Noah will win in 19.40-19.50 if Tebogo pushes him all the way.
@@spongussy_Coleman is 60m world indoor champ but Lyles indeed won the national indoor championship in which he beat Coleman 6.43, 6.44...Coleman kept competing and won the world indoor 60m but that might be why he failed at the trials.

Kishane tightened up towards the last 20ish metres as we see him strain much more than he's ever done over the last year, and this is where you see Lyle's experience and stellar performance come through as he was relaxed the whole way through. I truly recon Thompson could've won it had he relaxed but understandably he had Kerley & SImbine breathing right down his neck. As much as I am Team Jamaica, I've gotta give props to Lyles who was the better man of the night and did not cave to the doubters or the pressure. Bravo brother!

He closed at an absurd pace. I was looking at Fred and Kishane when I noticed the blur from the outside at around 60 meters, and I knew he had taken it. Incredible race. Bravo to Kerley and Kishane as well.
Unreal!! What a race!!! Did not disappoint. Thank you for posting so quickly. 🙏🙏 What a seriously impressive close by Lyles and super strong race from Thompson with a fabulous start. And props to Fred Kerley🙌🙌 Congratulations to Noah Lyles on an amazing race with his signature close. Go USA!!
It is impressive how Lyles always wins COMPETITIVE races. A lot of people can win when they are clearly faster than everyone else. But lyles always keeps his nerve and wins from behind even when it means catching his competitors AT THE LINE in an Olympic final. A race which comes only once every 4 years. Lyles is a special case
Bro does NOT come close to bolts level of aura. Lyles races against his competitors for first, bolt raced the clock for world records. They not like us
Simbine gotta be one of the most unfortunate sprinters, 9.82 huge pb and again finished in 4th. Jacobs 9.85 is crazy, Tebogo pr, Nike Kerley is back 9.81. Lyles backed up the talk 9.79 pb, Kishane definitely never run relaxed in the final as he looks so tense after the drive phase. Also this is the first race ever with all competitors going sub 10.
Yeah I think kishane got nervous with how close everyone was to him. Normally he’s so fast no one is in his peripherals, so he runs ultra relaxed. You can tell by the look on his face the second half. He’ll dominate the 100m after today though. Now that he has national experience.
@@vijaysutherland1562that would make sense because I definitely didn't see him coming in last. I could've understood 5th because 9.82 was his PB until the semis but last and a 9.91 was not expected. Hopefully he's good for the relay though
My impression about Seville is that he will never be a great one. It's a matter of character.. And you see this right before race starts. Of course, age and unexperience also count. And he is very fast. But champions are made of consistency. Like Lyles..
The Olympic finals this year were maybe the closest ever. Though I had bet on Kishane, congratulations to Noah for winning. Every runner finished in under ten minutes.
The guy who manages to execute all phases wins. Thompson great start and block clearance, good acceleration phase, lacking relaxation phase. He was straining to get to the line when he saw he was leading. Lyles, bad start but all else was good, especially relaxation. Eyes straight ahead, no strain on his face, never panicked and a perfect lean.
@@amosglitterz2649 Guess this was where Noah’s experience and ability to perform under pressure won. Still impressive for Kishane’s first Olympic, sure there’ll be more to come from him in the future

This Build up is fabulous! I would much rather watch Total Running Production than the realtime thing! Thats why I avoided all media today (I paused at 6:10s to write this)
Its interesting because Thompson can run faster than 9.79 and Lyles got a bad start but still caught him and got a PB so we still cant really be sure who is actually faster.
It’s really uncertain. Thompson accelerated like crazy but he seemed to tense up instead of powering away. It looked like he lost at least a few hundredths at the end because of it. If both get a good start they’re almost dead even. Honestly if both ran a perfect race (120ms reactions, both with good starts and running relaxed) both could have run low 9.7’s. Right now I think Kishane is a touch faster, but is more volatile and inexperienced, while Lyles is one of the most consistent sprinters out there. In the future I definitely see Kishane storming ahead as he matures. There’s a good chance he breaks into the 9.6’s within the next year.
@@russellfox5877 Ato was right, Kishane is use to shutting down at the end and it might have cost him. The race was a lot closer then he anticipated with Kerly keeping up with him.

It's amazing how relaxed Noah was able to run the entire race. Tension was building between Thompson and Kerley as they tried to reach the finish line. The dry spell has ended.
You should see how swimmers have stated this. I don't think people realize how fast thousandth sec is. In normal life no difference. 9.78 vs 9.78 is 9.78😅
Yes, I'm truly pain by this. And can only hope the USA curse in 4×100, takes effect once again, and at his hands. But then I remember more kids care abou NBA, the players make more, you ask kids NBA player names they name them, they pretend to be them in games. Ask about Noah kids give the shoulder pump and head tilt. In track n field no kids say running and claiming they him. But at least he world champion and barely won gold. Prehaps they will buy his box of Wheaties.
Noah Lyles owes a great gratitude to Fred Kerley who put the pressure on Kishane Thompson for the first time forcing Thompson to tighten up which allowed Lyles to run both of them down.
This makes no sense. Lyles had the slowest reaction time and was at one point trailing behind everybody else. Thompson had a size-able lead and yet Lyles still managed to run him down with a relaxed form and formidable lean.

Even Kishane thought he won at first. I definitely did. That has to be one of the fastest final 10-20m ever by Lyles!!!

That surely is one is the fastest race ever!! Congrats Noah...you literally pulled out the win from behind like the freight train you are!
Big props to Noah. This isn't even his best event! Way to walk the talk!
This Build up is fabulous! I would much rather watch Total Running Production than the realtime thing! Thats why I avoided all media today (I paused at 6:10s to write this)
This spoiled the whole thing.. We want see the race.. Wtf?
Its interesting because Thompson can run faster than 9.79 and Lyles got a bad start but still caught him and got a PB so we still cant really be sure who is actually faster.
Agree. Noah literally came from behind! at one point everyone looked like they had stopped running as he passed them. 😂
@@russellfox5877 I'm suspecting this will be the case. And LA2028 is looking nasty 😅
The winner at the Olympics is the fastest. Small track meets don’t count.
He proved me wrong. Losing that semi might have been the best thing for him. Grueling rounds but steadfast and determined beating a very deep field. A win is a win no matter the margin. Absolutely chuffed for the guy. Now on to the easy part
It's amazing how relaxed Noah was able to run the entire race. Tension was building between Thompson and Kerley as they tried to reach the finish line. The dry spell has ended.
Great reporting. Thanks for the very informative pre-final background. Establishes content and gives understanding to the stakes. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
The difference between having the mentality of the winner, the experience of competing and the intend to become the best gave Noah the medal!
If you have to go to the 1000 of a second there should be two gold medals given out.
I agree. It's enough to be a tie
You should see how swimmers have stated this. I don't think people realize how fast thousandth sec is. In normal life no difference. 9.78 vs 9.78 is 9.78😅
LETS GO NOAH THIS WAS THE CRAZIEST OLYMPIC RACE OF ALL TIME NGL 😂
Been waiting a long time for this video. TRP delivered. Love this channel.
Been an honor watching this channel completely blossom during these Olympics.
NBA fans in tears rn
"World champions of what" lmao 😂
As An NBA fan, I am in tears… tears of joy. Noah is still an American and I’m glad he’s taking gold home
Agreed. I think pressure played a huge part here
Kishane ran his second fastest time. He just got beat this time
This makes no sense. Lyles had the slowest reaction time and was at one point trailing behind everybody else. Thompson had a size-able lead and yet Lyles still managed to run him down with a relaxed form and formidable lean.
oh, how amazing does it feel to wholeheartedly believe in someone and see their potential realized against all odds and against all doubts. amazing, i tell you.😊
I am so happy also that he won. Otherwise, we wouldn't put up with the KT crowd. Time to revisit those trolling comments and call them out.
Lyles shut up all the haters! Im one of the haters😂 Congratulations 🇺🇸
Excellent Video! Great Value in your commentary! I learned heaps.. Thank you very much!!
Crazy how Noah Lyles gained 60k followers on instagram today only😮😮
I need Yes I Can and all the other haters to step up and admit they were wrong. Season's Bests don't matter in the heat of the moment. Congrats, Noah!
9.91 was the slowest time. Crazy!!
And if Seville had dipped instead of giving up 5m before the line, he too could have gotten 9.8x
@@barath4545 He did appear to give up there but in the moment, I was curious if he pulled up cause he got injured last second or if it was just a true give up.
@@Pittboss4127I think he really just gave up. He didn't link or anything after the race. I'm sure he really thought he was going to win the race and he had good reason to think so, so it was probably really disappointing for him to not even be in contention watching when he knows he can run way faster
