But this song, and NO MILK TODAY, are my absolute favorites. They had greater range than just the “radio hits”. They made a big contribution to 60s music, and are still one of the top groups from that time.

This was one of my favourite songs in the late 60's. Someone I worked with in my office, sat opposite me and sang this song to me! I saw Peter Noone perform in Florida in October, 2010. He was fantastic. After the show, I spoke to him and asked him why he hadn't sung this song. He said it wasn't a hit in the USA; just in the UK. It was great to chat to him; I got his autograph too and shook his hand. Bless him.

how hard it would be to see a girl in front of us as a stranger, whom we loved and ready to die for. Though, she wanted to be apart, we sill have love to her, still want to make her happy, still want to have a heartful hug..We can feel the pain of a lover who still loves his girl though she wanted to leave from his life. Though he having a bunch of girls around him, he still have her in his heart and see her only, and when he saw her again, his heart how recalls her is a great picture in the song. One of my all time fav songs.

It is indeed so very nice to see the original version performed by the original Herman's Hermits with Peter Noone on the lead vocals. This performance sets an unattainable bar for the current "artists" that attempt to perform this gem.

There was a point during the mid 60s when Herman's Hermits had 4, 5 hits a year! A marvellous band and My Sentimental Friend from 1969 has to rank among their very finest.
Herman's hermits sang the songs of my childhood into teenagerhood the Innocence was the best years of my life.
how hard it would be to see a girl in front of us as a stranger, whom we loved and ready to die for. Though, she wanted to be apart, we sill have love to her, still want to make her happy, still want to have a heartful hug..We can feel the pain of a lover who still loves his girl though she wanted to leave from his life. Though he having a bunch of girls around him, he still have her in his heart and see her only, and when he saw her again, his heart how recalls her is a great picture in the song. One of my all time fav songs.
